  1. Feedback Aplenty Thanks to Codemasters, Broadcast Journalism student and 'Motorsport YouTuber' Andre Harrison was exclusively permitted to record his limited gameplay session and share it with the world. His praises the development team for taking a step backwards towards the original Race Driver GRID title in terms of content and handling. It's a little hard to judge ourselves due to his, erm... aggressive driving style (at least in the touring cars), but do share your thoughts in the comments section below. Also showcased is the sharp menu interface and the replay system that Codies are particularly proud of. Oh and Ravenwest are back. Is this title on your 'must-have' list for 2014? Is being similar to GRID 1 a good or bad thing? Is there room for GRID Autosport and Project CARS to share the market? Do you think Codemasters made the right call releasing early on current-gen consoles? These are the questions - scroll down and submit your answers! GRID Autosport is due for release on PC (Steam), Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on Friday the 27th of June 2014.
  2. Pure Raging A couple of new Raging Bulls are the next to join the NFS Rivals cops and racer ranks in this latest DLC for the EA arcade racer, called the 'Concept Lamborghini' the packs contain the (successful?) attempt of recent years to re-imagine the legendary Miura, resulting in the gorgeous Miura Concept. Snorting alongside is the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo, a road-going version of the racing variant that participates in what is known as the 'World's Fastest One Make Series' the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo. Packs are available either separately as Cop or Racer with the former containing Pursuit liveries for the vehicles or a Complete Pack where you will get both packs for a discounted price. They should be available now on all relevant platforms so if you're still feeling the Need for Speed and want some new Lamborghini metal to go up against the recent Ferraris and Jaguars that were also released, then here and now is the time to do it! NFS Rivals: Lamborghini DLC Trailer Thanks - needforspeed.com
  3. Get Down and DiRT 3! The DiRT series is one of those that's loved by many and rightfully so as it's just pure damn fun and looks sensational, so if you haven't picked it up in the past and want to see what it's about but not spend more than the cost of a McDonald's Regular Meal then here's your chance. As part of the Xbox Live sale on right now you can pick up the latest release for a very small chunk of green, or should that be copper and nickel or whatever coins are made of where you reside. Either way if you love your rally and your arcade racing thrill then jump on this as at that price it's hardly something you'll regret! So what are you waiting for?! Now you too can be like Ken Block and crash hard and fast all the time. *cheeky* DiRT 3 on Xbox Live Marketplace
  4. The Thunder Returns February 18th is set to be a big day for fans of America's biggest spectator sport as NASCAR '14 The Game arrives on the Xbox 360, PS3 and for you PC users out there, Steam. Deep Silver and Eutechnyx are serving up yet another crack at the NASCAR gaming series, since EA Sports dropped the franchise rights in 2009. Eutechnyx has not had it easy trying to appease the NASCAR fan base, as the first two attempts in the gaming series served up many issues, including glitches and bugs long after launch; however the NASCAR fan base is a rock solid bunch, sticking with the games despite their issues as Eutechnyx worked hard to patch the issues. And so brings forth NASCAR '14, the aptly named third game in the series for the UK Developer. NASCAR '14 brings forth a slew of new features that were disappointingly missing from the previous editions of the game, including but not limited to: Online Racing Leagues, Server Browsers, DNF's, enhanced AI driving styles and difficulty levels, new car physics and the ability to hire staff and acquire sponsors in Career mode. Eutechnyx states that DLC will come out on a monthly basis for the game, including updating the game's "NASCAR Highlights" feature, which allows you to take the wheel of a specific driver, recreating epic moments from the real NASCAR season. Start your engines, NASCAR '14 arrives in 3 days on Xbox 360, PS3 and Steam for PC. 5. Microsoft kick of their 'Games with Gold' in 2014 with the decent offering of Sleeping Dogs, a game that's been well talked about and has a good following and one I have been looking forward to playing. So much so that 2 days ago had it been £5.99 not Hitman Absolution I would have picked it up. Glad it wasn't and didn't seeing as it's now FREE to Gold members. Have you played this game? What did you think? And if not, are you going to grab it and give it a go? Maybe you will also turn out to be one of those who likes what this game provides. Sleeping Dogs - Xbox Marketplace

  7. Wolfenstein: The New Order revealed - GameSpot.com What's eye-brow raising about this is that the game is being developed by a number of those behind the Chronicles of Riddick and Darksiders games. :hmmm:
  8. Got It Uncovered GRID 2 has less than a month now to it's release day (wow time flies!) and they haven't been shy in throwing out the videos the last few weeks to show players what is coming their way when it does. Impressively, Codemasters have been live-streaming the game on it's twitch.tv channel, answering questions submitted via twitter and the live chat accompanying the stream as well as uploading the recording to youtube and their facebook for those who may have missed it. So what do we have on offer then, well we got plenty of videos showing off some of the tracks, another showing the time attack aspect of the game and another showing some of the customisation you guys will be able to do to your car. Some of these you can see below but for the full inventory be sure to check out the GRID 2 Youtube and watch what you want to your little hearts content.
  9. Maximum Multiplayer Mayhem Codemasters have released a new trailer depicting the multiplayer aspect of GRID 2 and you have to say it is looking decidedly mental! All about everything to do with the multiplayer side of the game as you would imagine we get glimpses of normal races, drifting and RaceNet which is like a social networking platform for the game. With it you can search for friends, follow others, show your ranking and upload videos of your escapades in the game. Many locations that have been seen before are shown but with the visual splendour of this game it's no bad thing and that is one thing GRID 2 has going for it, it's graphics. Just like the first it's a very pretty looking game, and if you thoroughly enjoyed the original GRID and spent many hours on then no doubt the sequel will be right up your street, alley, circuit.. well you get the idea. :) GRID 2 is out May 28th 2013 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
  10. 1000 times YES! Here's a surprise announcement from the good people at Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games, a FREE Expansion Pack for Forza Horizon named the 1000 Club! From the trailer we can see that every car will have challenges that want you to complete objectives such as jumping far, smashing objects, speed runs and more. On completion of these we can see that medals can be won, these medals will help unlock a new batch of achievements worth a total of 250 GS when certain goals are met. And it would have been easy for them to leave the pack like that but they didn't, as there will be two free vehicles included within this pack, the Ford F100 pickup and the RUF CTR2. This free pack is definitely welcome and is what people have been asking for, as it will provide some much needed longevity to the game what with 1000 challenges and all. It's also something for nothing so really there isn't much to complain about or say really. I guess if you wanted you could find it fickle that they mention about the "more cars you have" the more you can achieve but I think we can skip that over and look forward to jumping back into the 'Horizon Festival' and trying to complete a number of the challenges and grab those medals. The 1000 Club Expansion Pack will be available from the 16th April 2013. [gallery size=gallery-thumbnail" itemtag="div" icontag="span" link="file" columns="4" ids="1215,1212,1213,1214] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvtNUkbFByE
  11. And on that bombshell Turn 10 have announced that the next Forza Horizon DLC pack will be the April 'Top Gear' Pack with vehicles that have been chosen by the team behind the magazine of the worldwide loved motoring show and Turn 10 Studios. With a pack bearing this name you may expect many weird and wonderful delights such as the 'Hammerhead Eagle i-Thrust' or the 'Peel P50', but no unfortunately these are missing and instead we get other craziness like the Ford Transit SuperSportVan and the - brand new to Forza - Bowler EXR S. The Bowler in particular has in it's various forms appeared in a number of recent episodes over the past few years and is much adored by Richard Hamster Hammond, therefore it is a very fitting addition indeed. Also included is the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale Zagato, the iconic and rare to spot on the roads Mercedes-Benz CLR-GTR, the absolutely stunning new Aston Martin Vanquish and to finish it off the BMW M3 GT-R. As with all Horizon DLC this pack will cost 400 MSP or is FREE to Season Pass holders. The free car of the pack is the BMW M3 GT-R. Note there is no Season Pass Bonus car as they have now finished. 12. Euro having a laugh right? Playground Games and Turn 10 have announced the vehicles coming to Xbox 360 players in the March Meguiar's Car Pack from the 5th of this month. With it you can get to grips with the crazily practical new Audi RS4 Avant (paintgun not an option unfortunately), the future classic Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale and the much loved 'gangsta' Mercedes-Benz G65 AMG. The pack contains nothing from the 'land of the free' and has only the one car from the 'land of the rising sun' which has annoyed some of the Forza community. All-in-all it's another DLC pack featuring most of what some would call rehashes of already available Forza Motorsport 4 content, either way it's another promised pack for the game and for those still enjoying it, will be a welcome addition for theirs. The pack will be available for 400 MSP or FREE to Season Pass buyers as well as the option to buy separately at 240 MSP each. Forza Horizon March Meguiar's Pack 1) 1998 Nissan R390 (FREE) 2) 2013 Audi RS4 Avant 3) 2013 BMW M135i 4) 2003 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale 5) 2012 Mercedes-Benz G65 AMG 6) 2004 Peugeot 206 RC 2010 Joss JT1 (Season Pass Bonus) Trailer Join the discussion of Forza Horizon in our forum!
  13. Racing all over the World! Codemasters has today released the latest trailer of GRID 2. The video is the first gameplay trailer and shows some of the new locations players will be able to race around, including Paris, Barcelona, California, Chicago and the Red Bull Ring circuit in Austria. Several cars are shown too but we'll leave you to pause through the clip and name them as there is so many and a few surprises too! GRID 2 is released in May this year for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Pre-order specials are available to early adopters! 14. Eutechnyx Brings Regular Updates NASCAR fans, myself included, watched the decline of NASCAR video games come to a screaming halt with NASCAR 09. EA Sports had gradually been neglecting the franchise and it showed greatly upon their finished products. The future looked extremely dim until Activision purchased the rights to the NASCAR franchise and came out with NASCAR: The Game 2011. Sure the new franchise isn't perfect, but Activision and Eutechnyx are making the effort to get there. That effort manifests itself in the continual release of DLC and patches for their new game, NASCAR The Game: Inside Line. Announced today, the brand new Generation 6 cars of NASCAR will be available to download on Xbox Live and the Playstation Network by the end of February; which is around the same time they will be debuting in their first real season of NASCAR Racing. They will be available for use in single player and online races, along with the Inside Line Highlight series of DLC which lets players recreate famous NASCAR races using real life, telemetric data. The cars can be purchased using the in-game Ticket Currency or you can have it as part of the Inside Line Highlights Pack previously mentioned. As always you can find all the information you need on the official site here. [gallery size=gallery-thumbnail" itemtag="div" icontag="span" link="file" columns="5]
  15. GRID Ready to Race! Codemasters has announced the release date for the highly-anticipated GRID 2 which will be racing it's way to retailers in North America on May 28th and in Europe on May 31st for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Along with this there was also the mention of a GRID 2 Special Edition which is available for pre-order and features extra content that will be redeemable via Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and PC. In the UK the retailer GAME has Exclusivity over what's called the 'Brands Hatch Special Edition', this gives buyers access to 2 routes [layouts?] on the infamous Brands Hatch GP circuit as well as 2 new cars of the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 Special Edition and the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 GT. McLaren Racing Pack: Receive the exclusive McLaren MP4-12C GT3 Special Edition car to race in single-player, multiplayer and a special online event; plus expand the game with two new routes around the Brands Hatch GP circuit. Head Start Pack: Receive the exclusive Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 GT car to race in single-player, multiplayer and enjoy discounts in the Car Upgrades Store in online game modes and a unique RaceNet bonus. So what do you think about this Special Edition? Are you going to be buying GRID 2? Let us know in the forum! [gallery size=gallery-thumbnail" itemtag="div" icontag="span" link="file" columns="5]
  16. Take your Jalopnik! The content of the next Forza Horizon DLC Car Pack has been revealed and it's a definite love and/or hate one at that. Full of the strange and the wonderful - and even a carbon copy with just a different badge - it's a pack that seems to be splitting opinion and even making some regret their 'Season Pass' purchases! Either way it's another pack for another month and if you are still blasting around the roads and dirt tracks of Colorado then here's some more toys for you to play with. Available from February 5th for 400MSP or for FREE if you were lucky enough to purchase the Season Pass, the below vehicles will be yours to play with or vent your anger upon from then. 1) 1966 Ford Country Squire (FREE) 2) 1970 Datsun 510 3) 1973 Mazda RX-3 4) 1991 Ferrari 512 TR 5) 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser 6) 2013 Subaru BRZ 7) Devon GTX GT3 - (Season Pass Bonus) Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WV_SGVWINs
  17. Houser Bros Dazzle With Secrecy Just like the usual proceedings of Rockstar, information about Grand Theft Auto 5 has been limited, to say the least. So far over a dozen screenshots and two trailers have been released over the course of not much but a year. Tight lipped as always, this should come as no surprise to those who have been long-time fans of the gaming franchise. To this date we know little of the plot, other than it involves money (which GTA game doesn't?) and it has not one, but three main characters. Ever a new spin put on an old favourite by the group over at Rockstar. It's an effective strategy, every time a single screenshot is released, the fans squeal with delight and start to deduce (much like Mr. Holmes himself) the great possibilities that this game could hold. From what we've seen thus far out of the screenshots and trailers, we can look forward to the very things that made Grand Theft Auto a household name. Planes and Jets make their return in the world of San Andreas and with the immense landscape that Rockstar has created, you're going to need them. We've also seen the return of bicycles, which were a popular favourite in the classic San Andreas, which still has a massive following. What we saw with GTA IV was a massive change in the landscape of what Grand Theft Auto had to offer us; we saw a new graphics engine, new physics, in fact the whole game was brand new. Long gone were the days of running over hookers or chainsawing someone in half during your stay in Vice City. The humility of the previous-gen games had shed it's shell and we stood staring at a much more serious, grown up Grand Theft Auto. GTA V seems to fix the problem that most gamers had with IV, it brings back some of the classic arcadey-ness that gamers loved from the previous gen, combining it with the best of what GTA IV had to offer. If this artwork and those to follow are any indication, the gaming industry will be alight when this game finally hits shelves sometime during Spring of this year. Will Rockstar make their usual decision of delaying their game to perfect it? Or will we actually be playing GTA V before E3 even arrives on our screens? Time will tell and until then, I'm sure the gaming community doesn't mind waiting for what will certainly be the Game of the Year. All artwork currently available for download at Rockstar Games website.
  18. McLaren VS McLaren. FIGHT! Codemasters has released the first of a series of three videos which shows off some tasty driving of one of the cars you will find in the upcoming GRID 2 game. The fast and frantic live action video features two McLaren MP4-12C's battling [playing?] hard on the Brands Hatch Circuit. And driving these two delights is Chris Harris, who you may have seen on many videos test driving the best cars us mere mortals can only dream about, and Mat Jackson, the very talented and always great to watch British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) driver. The video is full of great sounds, fantastic power-slides and flames spitting out the exhaust set against the gorgeous lighting of an end of day sunset. We then get a brief clip of Harris being briefed by a Codemasters monkey who shows him the telemetry and tells him the ideal place to pull a pass. Harris also appears to be involved with the development and the handling of the game, why, we're not sure. “I’m thoroughly enjoying working on these videos for GRID 2, and adding a few pointers to help develop the handling on some of the key cars in the game. It’s a great opportunity to explore the ever-closer relationship between real driving and the virtual world” said Chris Harris. The first GRID game was a highly-regarded arcade racer praised for it's impressive visuals and crazy crash effects of which fans will be happy to know GRID 2 looks to continue and expand upon this even more. So if that's your sort of thing or you enjoyed the first game then this will clearly be on your radar for it's release coming in the Summer of this year for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. 19. I have Candy, get in the Van! The New Year is fast approaching and in true Turn 10 style they don't let the fact that's it's Christmas or even a new year spoil the festivities, so much so that any chance of a delay coming to their usual 'announcement' and 'release' of the next "monthly DLC" is quickly put to rest with this latest announcement and date of release for the 'Recaro' Car Pack coming for Forza Horizon on the very first day of the brand new year.... yes the 1st January 2013 for those of you trying to work that out. This is a pack that has been labelled as having "something for everyone" and they are not kidding, from the crazy 'yank tank' Cadillac Escalade or the track honed Lexus LFA Nürburging Edition and even a basic GMC van, yes you read that right, a van, so typical looking and dull that it could easily be inserted into the game as an AI civilian and be totally forgotten about. There is indeed! something in this pack that will appeal to everyone, I mean look at this; you have the Exotic muppet with the Pagani, the JDM muppet with the Lexus, the US Muscle muppet with the Mustang, the 'Gangsta' muppet with the Cadillac, the Racer muppet with the Lotus, the 'Sunday Driver' muppet with the SLR McLaren and the 'to be avoided at all costs' muppet with the Van. Whatever category you fall into then fear not as there is a vehicle here especially catered to YOU! As always the cars ...and a van are the star so here is the list for those of you who just wanted to see the pretty pictures. 1. Cadillac Escalade ESV 2. GMC Vandura G-1500 3. Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition 4. Lotus Exige S 5. Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 6. Ford Mustang Cobra R - FREE 7. Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster - SEASON PASS Trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTRKImH2DZQ
  20. Hi guys, you won't know but shortly after the November 2012 Live update my Xbox started saying "nope.avi" to some games and other discs such as DVD's and such that were put in it. After phoning Microsoft about it they basically said it needs a repair and to give us money. Now the console is a launch brick Pro version (sounds like some Chav series) and it was repaired for RROD back in 2007 so I figured I got nothing to lose so why not see if I can fix it myself and if not then I can look into other options such as buying a replacement off ebay. So off I went searching Google and of course Youtube and after trying many variations of the 'tapping' fix, I started checking out actual getting into the inners of the system and tracked down 3 videos that were really helpful and should help you too if you want to try and do a DIY job on your console. Note this may or may not work for you but for me, where my disc drive was not reading certain discs (the drive itself was opening and closing just to be clear) this has so far seemed to remedy the situation. How long it will last, if it will last I'll be sure to let you know by updating this thread but for now it's a damn sight better than it was. The 3 videos to watch are listed in the description of the video above. Good luck!
  21. The Special Stage is set! The hotly-anticipated Forza Horizon Rally Pack has finally been detailed, and with it comes a brand new set of rally courses (duh!) and 5 fire-breathing rally legends that should please virtually all Rally fans who remember the best days of the motorsport. On top of this from the info it appears that players will also be able to install the Rally specification kits and equipment to the standard cars of the game to make their own unique Rally monsters and mutants that you would never likely see on an actual rally course, but hey this is the great thing about games, you can make the ridiculous somewhat real. The cars that come with the Pack include legends such as the Lancia 037 Stradale and as can be seen by the image above, the Ford Escort RS Cosworth which appears to have slightly-misjudged an area of the course and ended up mid-air and sideways ...as tends to happen in Rally, as well as the Toyota Celica GT-Four RC ST185. And of course you can't properly talk about Rally cars without mentioning Subaru and Mitsubishi. Luckily both are in via the form of the Impreza WRX STi and the Lancer Evolution VIII MR. The Rally Pack will be out 18th December and will cost 1600MSP or FREE if you have the Season Pass. Check out the full scoop and view more images at IGN. We'll be sure to add more images when they become available. UPDATE: Gallery added. [gallery size=gallery-thumbnail" itemtag="div" icontag="span" link="file" columns="5" exclude="388]
  22. Ultimate Speed A new DLC pack has been announced for Need for Speed: Most Wanted containing 25 new Events, 70 new Speed-themed Milestones and a Partridge in a Pear tree. I kid, there are no new events only Speed and Poultry. I'm Joe King of course, as naturally with it being a new DLC pack for the latest NFS you know that there is going to be a nice selection of what is usually the rarest and best-looking virtual carporn around and this pack does not disappoint in that area at all. As here is what you will be able to get your hands on by purchasing the pack, which comes in at a pricely sum of 800MSP on Xbox 360 or £7.99/$9.99/€9.99 on PSN and Origin from the 18th December. 2012 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse 2012 Lamborghini Aventador J 1995 McLaren F1 LM 2011 Pagani Zonda R 2012 Hennessey Venom GT Spyder - new Most Wanted rival Make trouble for the cops at over 240 mph and leave friends and rivals eating your dust. 23. This side is my best side. There are many games that allow you to take a pic of your in-game vehicle and even allow you to utilise some real-life photography means and elements such as aperture, shutter speed and point of focus. Yes, there are many games that have this, but not that many that give you the perfect open-road backdrop like Forza Horizon gives you. This is made even more evident by the virtual automotive goodness that is being shown in the forum by our members. Of course it's early days for many people so the rare exotics and such are still to be found as well as the money to purchase them, but even at this early stage it's clear to see that no matter what you have, a gorgeous pic is only a few minutes of settings tweaking away. Here is a small selection from our members. Jaaag XKR-S by _Pr0ph3cy -_ [click to see more] Scion FR-S by Waftsheasel - [click to see more] Impreza by Clarence - [click to see more] Obviously over the next coming days and so on there will be even more of these awesome images to view and more than likely you will be taking some yourself. So if you want to see more like this check out the Forza Horizon forum, or perhaps you even want to share your own. If so Register and join in the fun!!
  24. Thankign you very much! The latest DLC car pack coming to the Horizon Festival has been revealed by the infamous BADNED over at the premier Forza community Forzacentral, and it appears to have been picked by those gaming giants at IGN. The 'December IGN' pack headlines with the new Ferrari F12berlinetta, a car never featured before in the Forza series and one that a number of people were surprised not to show itself in the DLC program for Forza 4. However now everyone can get to enjoy this new stallion from the minds of Ferrari along with of course a deliciously varied selection of the good, bad and the downright ugly! (I'll let you work out which is which) Out 4th December, 2012 at the grand old price of 400MSP or of course FREE to the Season Pass holders. And more than likely available separately for those of you only wanting your one and only choice of the pack. 1) AMC Javelin AMX 2) Aston Martin DBS 3) Ferrari F12berlinetta 4) Ford GTX1 5) HUMMER H1 Alpha Open Top 6) McLaren F1 Source: Forzacentral UPDATE: Trailer added
  25. And it's go-go-good fun! Formula 1? Check. Real F1 drivers? Check. [super] Mario Kart style flashbacks? ABSOLUTELY!! Yes people 'F1 Race Stars' from Codemasters is the F1 game nobody wanted but everyone will probably love as it's blend of Official F1 licenses coupled with insanely fun courses will make this quite possibly the new party game to play when you've had a few drinks or can't be bothered playing your 245th game of Wii Sports Bowling with your mates. The demo takes place on the 'Germany' track and four playable F1 racers are available: Sebastian Vettel, Jenson Button, Fernando Alonso and the ever animated Kimi Räikkönen*. You can either play it on your lonesome in single player or get a few mates round and have a 4-player #oldskool split-screen match. Don't believe us? Well feel free to go and download the demo on your Xbox 360 now (Gold only for now) with PC and PS3 coming tomorrow (Thursday 8th November). Go on, have some fun for a change and laugh at the cartoon representations of your favourite F1 star. *Rumours that Räikkönen smiles in this game are still to this point unfounded. F1 Race Stars launches for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 16th November, 2012.
