It's bad? I don't think so.

 

UAC it's bad for me. UAC turned off at me now - it's good)

 

What the security threats could be with this launcher? oO

An application should never ask to disable UAC. I'm sure your app is safe, but turning off the whole security system - for all apps - is rather insecure.

 

Remember that non all people are safe browsing on the internet and don't care about security. At least the UAC prevents software from harming their computers.

 

As an example TDUMT1 asks for administrator privileges when starting. That's just a meta to declare in your app config :)

Oh, I forgot added the app.manifest to the UL project. :\

 

Now will be:

<requestedExecutionLevel  level="requireAdministrator" uiAccess="false" />

requires admin access.

1. this fix with security issue.

2. support steam-version of TDU2.

Specially if nicely programmed by EDEN like:

 

in the memory the account, email, password, serial key, is a simple, plain text. :D

TDU2: Universal Launcher v1.3 Released!

I changed my mind about admin access for this tool. I declined. (Some problems with start the game without GUI)

Now uses "asInvoker" type :)

* Fixed security issue (now is Invoker type, not admin)

* Added support the STEAM-version of the game.

* Small changes in GUI

TDU2: Universal Launcher v1.4 - Released!

 

Changelog:

v1.4 / November 30, 2011

* Deleted the Config.in file due some issues.

* Settings now stored in another file.

* Possible to launch steam-version of TDU2 through *.bat files.

* Deleted tab "Game updates" in "Game information" window.

Final version (1.5) of the TDU2: Universal Launcher released!

 

Changelog:

* Fixed issue with restoring default settings due moving exe-file of the tool.

* Added startup splash-screen.

* Now settings will be stored in:

Example:

Win Vista/7/8 - C:\Users\*YOU_NAME*\AppData\Local\i-Knyazev.ru\TDU2\Universal Launcher\settings.xml

Win XP - C:\Documents and Settings\*YOU_NAME*\Local Settings\i-Knyazev.ru\TDU2\Universal Launcher\settings.xml

* It's encrypted version of the tool.

* It's final version of the tool in v1.x serie (Maybe, next version will be started with 2.0 version)

If my launcher won't be works after updating of the game. (after DLC2 update), I'll try to create a new version (2.0) of this launcher.

How to use:

1. Unpack TDU2_Universal_Launcher.exe file in any folder.

2. Run this TDU2_Universal_Launcher.exe file.

3. Go to "Settings", then select the TDU2 game folder and click "Save" button.

4. Select the game mode: Online or Offline.

5. Click on "Run Game!". The game will launch in a few seconds.

-> Select the "Texmod", if you want to run game from Texmod utility.

yes ive read the instructions and everything all i want to do it make TDU2 use the un-binned files that ive modded, cos i made a seperate thread asking for help with this question, and Baddtraxx said i needed the universal launcher.

 

This is the problem im getting, i probablly seem like a complete idiot to you but i just cant work out how to fix this

 

Ive got to the point where ive installed mods and stuff but i cant figure out how to get them to work. heres what ive done so far.

 

1. Ive unpacked TDU with the QuickBMS thing

 

2. ive downloaded a BNK file from TDUCentral

 

3. I replace the old BNK file with the one i downloaded

 

4. How do i now get the game to use the modded files, because at the moment it jut tries to re-download the standard files instead of using the Bnk folder that the QuickBMS unpack created. Do i need to repack the files into the .big and .map files that the normal TDU2 uses???
