  1. Wow. I'm not a modder, so I can't claim to understand all the gory details of the process but I'm sure it does take a significant amount of effort on the part of a whole bunch of folks. Admittedly, my name was very much on the "are we there yet?" list when it came to the GSXR mod, BUT I tried to thank all the people I knew were involved, which brings me to this point: A large portion of the mods for TDU that I have downloaded and loved were converted, and I had absolutely no idea where the ORIGINAL models may have come from thusly I didn't thank the model creators. I assumed that the models were simply "hacked" from the various games mentioned like Juiced2 and NFS Shift, I wasn't even aware that the editors/convertors had actually gotten permission from the blokes who made those models for those games to use them, so my seeming ingratitude was only due to my ignorance. As far as "OMG the wheels are too big" comments and the like from, as it was so succinctly stated earlier in the thread, people who have no room to detract from the modders efforts, I agree that the universal response to them should be the same: IF YOU THINK YOU CAN DO BETTER, GO FOR IT! I know I can't, which is why I'll overlook bugs and the like in an otherwise spectacular piece of work. Not to mention that since the mods here are also FREE to the community, nobody should have any space to piss and moan about any aspect of any mod, period. Community content like this adds SO much to a given game's longevity it's sad to see people crapping on this kind of work... So here's a HUGE shout out to all the guys and gals who've been involved with all aspects of modding TDU from the cars to the races to the physics to the textures to the forum admins for hosting and maintaining this repository to anything I've forgotten. You've made my TDU experience unfathomably better than it would have been had this kind of content not been available to me. I wish I could contribute more than a very sincere thank you for all your efforts.
  2. Gonna try out the Cayman gauges, as they're closest to what I was lookin for, also puttin the 911GT2 gauges in
  3. nice lookin gauges fl0w have you done any generic type gauges, a la white-faced autometer? http://autoanything.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/autometer_nv_gauges.jpg lookin fer sumthin to swap onto the DB7 (currently Tool831's Bomex Supra hardtop) but haven't seen much that I like w/o any branding on em... not shur how indiglo-ish gauges http://www.jeep-tech-tips.com/images/glow99-big.jpg might work/look, but sumthin to mess with maybe anyway?
  4. Incredible job everybody, an amazing machine done justice by this mod *hrm*haya*ahem*busa*... goin to ride it a bit right now actually... :monkeydance:
  5. meh, don't release it today, wait til tomorrow make 'em sweat a lil bit more... besides, what's one more day or two or three right? :monkeydance:
  6. I can't say I entirely disagree (there's some real junk released by others) but in the end the only one(s) who can decide when this will be released are the creators, so WAIT like the rest of us. Besides, why strive to attain mere mediocrity when perfection is so close at hand?
  7. I know dc, I'm just excited :) It's like xmas, the closer it gets, the harder it is to wait :cheeky:
  8. Shame those sweet sweet detail shots don't include a link to the release thread... ;)
  9. Alright, time to open my mouth and insert my foot (which I'm hoping that I'm not about to shoot myself in)... <rant> Tool831 released a Supra with 7 different variations, but they were CONVERTED (no offense intended to tooly cuz I have no clue how to do it otherwise I'd be a modder too). I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd be ecstatic just to have a gixxer in TDU and could care less about paint schemes and option/variations. I really honestly appreciate the time, money and effort all u guys are puttin into this, but as the old saying goes "a work of art is never fully complete in the eyes of the artist" so what may still appear flawed or incomplete now may be negligible or unnoticed by the rest of us, especially considering this was all but scratch-built... Not to mention that 1.0 doesn't necessarily hafta mean final... I'd be more than happy to wait for 1.1 etc for other exhausts n stuff... </rant>
  10. HEHEhehehe Community: "When are you going to patch TDU, Atari/Eden?" Atari/Eden: "Soon..." LOL Pray you guys never grow to be as old and cynical as me! :)
  11. heh, I'll take 99% sooner over 100% later ;) btw rollingtheboy, was it you who supplied the original model for this project? if so, is it from Squir? He/they make a SICK Hayabusa model too, I just couldn't be arsed to pay for it unless I could guarantee it being in TDU which I personally have no hope of accomplishing... I'd gladly sacrifice the ZX-12 for a 'busa (with appropriately adjusted physics of course) Just something I thought I'd throw out there since this project is going so well... Just wanted to take a sec to throw out some huge holiday props to all the folks involved with making this project a reality, just wish I could offer more than a genuine thanks for all the time and resources you chaps have dedicated to this for the benefit of the rest of us, and big thanks also to TDUC admin for giving all this talent a place to come together. :excited:
  12. BAH HUMBUG! LOL I want a TDU GSXR for xmas, only a GSXR will dooo...
  13. by the time a bike makes it to production the designers plans get all but tossed out the window because of emissions regulations, laws regarding where & how big marker lights, signal lights, headlamps, etc, where they need to be... Google an article called "your bike sucks and why..." and it'll explain a lot... and MERRY XMAS, er, happy non-denominational holiday season everybody!
