  1. Thanks a lot for this DJvitas. One of my favorite cars this. I have no opportunity to test it right away, but judging by the screenshots, it looks decent enough. Way too low, but that's understandable given the lack of a high-riding camera for it. And it seems to lack the front suspension, brakes and drivetrain.

  2. Ever fancied running your own car manufacturer? Building cars from the ground up? Invent a road-hugging suspension, create a powerfull and efficent engine and chuck it in, draping it all in a drop-dead gorgeus body, and then put it on sale against the competitions offering?

There's actually an indie game that wants to give you the opportunity to do just that.

I'm really intruged by the concept, especially since it's always been a dream for me to be able to start my own car manufacturer. While that probably won't happen in real life, this should be a good, and a lot less risky alternative!

And here's a tiny teaser vid with two developers talking about some aspects of their engine designer feature. So far, it's inline 4's, but pretty much every sort of internal combustion engine is scheduled for the final release.

  3. Stunning to behold, and as I've come to expect from Zonda, the interior is truly world class.

I want to bring peoples attention to one thing I like particulary well about this car. People have complained about the lack of a rear wing, and some of the more observant ones have noted the flaps in the hood and the tail. Like we've seen several times in cars such as the Veyron or the SLR McLaren, the rear ones act as brake flaps to push the car down under braking. But, they are also controlled induvidually by computers measuring speed, steering input and how the car rolls and pitches etc. etc, and use the flaps to help the car corner better.

Example, if it goes around a right corner, the right front and rear flaps fold out, to push the right side of the car down and help it corner more level.

This is quite the spectacular concept, one that combines all the pros of a fixed spoiled with none of the drawbacks. When down, the lines of the car remain undisturbed to behold, when cornering, downforce is ready at hand, at high speeds, aerodynamical drag can be keept to a minimum.

  4. I do kind of catch this guys drift. Not dissing Eden's work in any way, but there was never made a game so good it couldn't be modded by the users to become even better. Sooner or later, the thirst for different cars, meatier engine roars and more realistic physics will grab many of us by the troat. Then, we'll be most grateful if someone actually had these goods ready for delivery.

  5. nice GTO in the back there (nice Corvette too).

but what in the world do you do for a living?

Not my GTO though. That pic was from when it was still back in the US. Now, it lies in several pieces in m garage, being prepared for a full repaint and some other upgrades.

As for what I do for a living. Just serving my time in the military. Dragoon in the Norwegian Panzerbatalion.

We shall put that in a Veryon SS!

The whole drivetrain weights roughly 5 tonnes though, so the poor Veyron will potentially suffer a bit.:D I and the other crew members have however fiddled with the idea of trying to get a drivetrain and install it in the bed of a Chevy Dually Pickup, powering the rear wheels. With sufficent bracing to support the chassis, it should be possible!

  6. In private, a 1977 Chevy Corvette. Some tuning's brought power up to around 350 horses, which is a nice start.

For work. A NM 217 Bergepanzer on a Leopard tank chassis. Powered by a twin supercharged 37.4 litre V10, with over 2800 NM of torque. Surprisingly, it's also plenty lively to drive. Wednesday, I spent a couple of hours putting it seriously sideways around corners on a snow circuit as a part of winter driving training.

All in all, I'm quite happy with what I've ended up with.:)

  7. Here be those I'd really want to see in the game. Be it as DLC, or less official additions by our excellent modding community, which I do have faith in will be able to figure out how to add cars pretty soon after the release.;)

  8. Hi there, I'm Fenris.

I'm a young petrolhead from Norway, with an almost unhealthy obsession with american muscle cars. Which is reflected by the fact I bought a Corvette C3 as my first car. One I'm still in the process of restoring and getting ready for the road.

I'll mostly be lurking around, but I still wanted to pop by and thank every member of the community for making it possible to have a TDU-forum of this magnitude.
