  1. Easy guys, the only reason I did that was because as soon as she started her own save, mine wouldn't work. So naturally my troubleshooting skills pointed me at that.

She just bought the lotus and only did one license test. I got her back to where she was in 10 minutes. If she had progressed far, I wouldn't have done that.

  2. Well I know this is supposed to be in the problems sticky but I wanted to be sure everyone saw it.

My girlfriend created a new game on her separate xbox profile. Not online just a silver account. Ever since I have not been able to load my original game save. The game starts up and says press start to play so I push it then it just sits there. Music playing, switching to different scenery landscapes, with no menu options and no response from the controller besides the xbox guide button.

Very angry. I am trying to find a work around, so far unsuccessful. I deleted all her saves, and all her items for the game but the problem persists. I've removed the harddrive, uninstalled and reinstalled. Nothing, the game just stares at me.

    Beware.

  3. This is the current list of problems from GMDestra over at the official forums.

    Service Status

    * Online Play – There are currently known issues with the stability of the Xbox servers. Due to this, you may see issues surrounding joining game sessions. We are working to resolve this.

    * DLC Purchasing – Online

    * Pre-Order Code Redemption - Online

    * Pre-Order Casino Code Redemption -Online

    * Getting pre-order cars and Casino in-game - Online

    * Casino Access - Online, but due to stability issues on the Xbox servers, you may have trouble accessing the Casino, or joining game sessions.

    * Clubs - Offline to fix an exploit

    Issues Being Investigated:

    * Cannot Join Friends - Some users are reporting that they cannot join their friends games due to a "Player Not Available Online" error message or a "Server Not Available" message. This is being looked into.

    * Bugged Car in Used Car Dealer - Some users have reported seeing a car in the Used Car Dealer that looks like a purple Lancia and has no stats. This has been escalated.

    * Friends Filter on map does not show friends - This has been confirmed and escalated.

    * No Accessory Controls (Xbox Wheel) - Xbox wheel users report that they cannot control the accessories using the D-Pad. This will be looked into.

    Fixed Bugs

    * Club Creation causes crash for some users - This is now resolved. Unfortunately, clubs previously affected by this issue may have been lost and will need to be recreated.

Apparently the xbox360 servers are over loaded

@iB_Akimbo_Slice Thanks. The Xbox servers are a bit overloaded and this is causing insability. We are looking into it.

  4. Seriously though, you've got to just get better at it. I mean, if there was a difficulty setting I would be cranking it up right now to get more money for winning. Most of these races are so blatantly easy is mostly a fast cruise by yourself in first. I am not trying to be mean, or condescending but I see you keep posting responses out of frustration.

The majority of the races are totally easy. I've even wrecked so bad that I needed to hold B to get back on track and climbed back up from 8th to win it. You just gotta get better, it's not one of the games faults.

I have tried every single approach' date=' but the Golf is just uncontrollable. I'd even say unpredictable, when you think you are perfectly nailing a turn, most of the times when exiting the turn the car loses control, and if you try to balance it, most of the times its just gonna be worse. [/quote']

I can't comment on the golf. The guy from the VVV videos said it was just awful, awful, awful so I just avoided. I used the Alfa mito for that championship.

Yeah, but I have the Golf now. I love the MiTo though, it has one of the best engine sounds in the game and that italian design is just gorgeous.

ITS FRUSTRATING, this is actually the first game in which I am AFFRAID of moving the analog stick, the slightest thing the car just spins out of control. Its a FREAKING DISGRACE these physics, this doesn't happen to any car, anywhere... I HAVE FEAR of moving the bloody analog stick! WHERE IN BLOODY HELL DID THEY GET THE IDEA THAT A 2010 GOLF GTI JUST FREAKING SPINS OUT OF CONTROL IN EVERY, AND I DO MEAN EVERY SINGLE, FREAKING, BLOODY TURN???????

Now, you finish the race, sweating... and then you have two very easy races. Now I am stuck with a time attack of one lap around Ibiza 119km. This is just ridiculous, I couldn't trust any car to race this challenge, so I'll take my most trustworthy car, my 370Z!

Like I said, I haven't used the golf but as far as the games physics go, I urge you to set up your settings like the ones laid out in my other post. It really makes a world of difference, and I have no problem with the car handling now.

Plus' date=' even though my Golf GTI has tuning to max level, Tess Wintory's Golf that is 5 meters behind my own, is always faster than mine till 100kmp1h (at least), really annoying! [/quote']

Well to be fair, she is your rival in this series. Every arcade racing game uses rubberbanding effects to justify a riviarly. In short, your rivals car will always be equal two or better, just by game coding. NFS, and burnout is horrible with it, I swear if you drove a Lamborghini and the AI drove civics, they would keep up with you in that game.

Seriously though man, you just got to get better. I beat the race around Ibiza in the Subaru wrx sti. I beat the required time by 13 minutes and second place was 9 minutes behind. Like I said, no offense, but this is a problem with you not the game.

  5. Bottom line if you liked the first, you'll like this one. Yes it has stuff wrong with it, just like the last one. Its a tough love. Kinda like a 2 year old, it causes you great frustration at times but if someone tried to take it away from you...you'd kill them.

I really think its just great, but I spent a large amount of hours on tdu 1 so I knew what to expect. The new kids are kinda having a cow.

  6. P.s. nice TV!!

Thanks I bought it two days ago. Super satisfied with my purchase. Its a 50" Panasonic Viera TC-P50G20.

Well that is quite obvious that the first thing to do would be to check the settings. But settings =/= physics. They just mess around with the handling to make it less twitchy but still twitchy enough to feel like you're driving a mad cow.

If you can't tell a difference from these settings and the game default's, then I highly doubt your in any position to critique physics. Obviously game control settings aren't going to recode the physics engine, but it makes it 10 times better.

]I feel I would appreciate it more if my wheel worked with my game.

Sorry to hear that, what kind of wheel do you have? I was on the fence between a new TVor a fanatec wheel. Glad I went with the TV now.

  7. Listen, this isn't a thread about bashing those who have a problem with the car handling dynamics. To each his own. However, I been seeing some posts around that are just blind rage posts. It's clearly obvious that these physics are a bit different. With that said, I've made some adjustments and frankly, I think its wonderful now. A whole lot better than the mandatory sideways drift for ever corner that NFS series imposes on you, that's garbage.

Go into the options and go under the controls, the third tab over says "Wheel configuration". It's okay if you didn't tweak these at first, its not logically inferred that these settings effect controller play as well. They do make a world of difference though.

I have mine set up like this.

    http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h310/ghostofchesty/IMAG0172.jpg

You don't have to set it up this way, but I found this is the best. Tweak to your liking obviously. With the settings like this, it takes out the massive oversensitivity that the game starts you out in. Also, the brake linearity allows just a tiny dab of braking, instead of full blown brake test levels like the game starts you off with.

This set up has made my driving far, far more enjoyable, I even get in a little drift action now.

So please use this as a baseline, and tune to your personal preferences.

    Hope this helps.

Edit: I only use a controller, using these settings with a wheel is your own endeavor.

  8. Yeah it doesn't work. You can play with just about anyone you like, so long as you're not friends with them.

Oh you've got to be kididng me. Its the whole point of this game. Any info on this or just first hand experience?

  9. Is anyone else having the most frustrating time connecting and/or linking with friends? Over the course of an hour last night I connected to one out of 5 of my friends. The game seems to have no problem placing me in some random lobby, but when we try to connect to each other it always fails.

    Any recommendations would be helpful

  10. If this have been disucessed somewhere else, please just point me into the right direction, but I couldn't find it.

    So I got to thinking.

They say that after level 10 you can take a plane to Oahu, and after you pay for your first flight, it's free after that. What about your cars? I would assume once you do reach level 10 and fly on over there, you will be set up with quite a small house. So my question is this, are the cars you buy limited to the Island you bought them on?

For example, when you hit level 10 on Ibiza lets just say for example, you have X amount of cars. I would assume that when you first get to Oahu you wont have a house capable of housing X cars.

If you can ship cars to other Islands I would hope that costs a large sum of money like it really would, but I hope it's at least an option. I will be very upset if I have to buy my favorite cars again on Oahu.

  11. While I am not getting this for PC but the Xbox rather, I still can't jump onboard with this 3d stuff. I am going to purchase a new TV with my tax refund next week so I've been shopping around quite a bit. I just can't get excited about it, I just prefer to watch a plane Jane TV, instead of some 3d one with glasses. I dunno just doesn't feel or look right.

I am glad to see that it is being supported for those of you who have spent quite a large sum of money acquiring the required equipment for 3d.
