  1. Good lord, a Focus ST, an RS4, and an M3 for the girlfriend? For someone who doesn't want to talk about his job, keen to show the results eh ;) One of them cars is worth more than both of the cars in my household.

I, for the moment, drive me mums 16v 1.25L (NOT V16 like someone earlier said, a V16 Fiesta would be a terribly fast...... waste of a good engine!). Does the job, gets me around. Cant wait till I can afford to insure (read, won't insure at the moment because its a rip-off) a 1.6 something or other. Shame so many male [insert many expletives here] insist on crashing their cars and making the rest of us pay rediculous money.

  2. yea right there are alot of american cars that are better than uk cars or whatever and some are better than ours but our cars dont suck who are u to be saying that.those cars that he posted are amazing

Award for over reaction of the week.

Love the paint neil, on the first especially.

  3. buy a wired controller, they're so much simpler and ergonomic :p

I was a cheapskate and bought the core version with wired controller (and then bought the HDD afterwards), but I'm the one laughing now as my brother is constantly hunting batteries for his wireless controllers. I love my wired, but much light and less hassle controllers.

Oh, and Speed_Freak, don't know what you mean by Force Feedback, but for a control to have Force Feedback would be impressive. I think you mean the rumble feature? ;)

  4. You could use a third car, parked between the two cars at the startline, and flash brake lights/reverse light to signal a start. Could also have another players car parked at the finish to mark the finish line and judge a winner ;)

Just ideas, sounds good though, I'd be up for it.

  5. Having done a bit of racing, I fancied a go in the paintshop! And to get used to how its all working I thought I'd use a bit of inspiration I found on the net. I was trying to do a BMW BTCC car, but that didn't work out. So, I had my BMW, but needed a different scheme. Google provided the inspiration, and here she is. Needs a little bit of tidying up, but pretty much finished!

P.S. everyone else feel free to post their police creations, I've seen a few around!

  6. Haha, dude, I played the NASCAR demo on my brothers xbox (didn't want to taint mine with it :P) and thats £40 I will not be shelling out!

Reckon I'm gonna go get FM2 as soon as I've smartened meself up a bit, spent a while on the forza central and forza motorsport forums last night, cant wait.

  7. Yo guys, long time no see!

Haven't been on in a while, but in my boredom recently, I reckon I'm going to go and buy Forza 2 tomorrow just to keep me entertained. Just wondering if you lot still play it online much? Haven't seen the guys I've got on my friends list on it that often recently (but then barely been on my xbox!). Sat on the original Forza for a few hours the other day, and just the customization of the cars (nevermind everything else) is enough to make me finally want to buy it!

Whilst I'm here, of Game, Gamestation, Asda and HMV, where is likely the cheapest to buy from instore (and will be open tomorrow, hence mentioning these stores)?

Hopefully I can see some of you online tomorrow!

  8. From the half second of moving vehicle footage in that teaser, provided it has slightly more realistic handling than previous NFS titles, it looks like it will be the road version of DiRT, visually anyway. DiRT doesn't have realistic handling at all (although it is insanely fun), but that trailor really made me think of DiRT videos.

  9. My reply to a very similar topic... (some of it won't make sense because its an answer to a post in the other topic, but I couldn't be bothered editting :P)

Ofcourse you can set yourself the price you sell your car at. You choose to sell a car, then it says "put up for sale" and something else, click put up for sale, then a price comes up with arrows. You change the price here.

As for high mileage cars, particularly within the forum spirit its nice to keep cars within the forum that have had a lot of miles put on the clock. Anyone can buy a new car, wheres the fun and originality in that?

And high mileage cars in the game, are like classic cars in real life. They have a rarity factor to them, thats why people will pay more.

With the ease at which you can get money in the game, I dont think some of the prices people ask for higher mileage cars at that ludicrous.

I do agree though that anyone who buys a car from trade that has 0 miles for anything more than the dealer price is an absolute fool, and it annoys me to see loads of cars that have just been bought and then listed for the same or a slightly inflated price. I'd far rather see trade full of high mileage cars, or tuned cars ready to drive (not a lot of effort to tune a car, but you know..). Its just full of crap these days.

  10. Manual all the way, just so much more satisfying to get a good few shifts in right on the limiter than letting an automatic take all the credit (and usually shift early)! :D

And yer, manual is nice for cruising... slip it into a high gear, keep the revs low, and thats a slow comfortable cruise right there.

  11. Cruises were only usually organised if it had some sort of theme, like the mafia cruises, or top gear cruises, etc. etc.

As most people have completed, or atleast gained champion in the single player game, most just cruise around if they are online, I know I do. If I see anyone else on my friends list online, I'll jump to them (although most on mine spend day and night on forza2!!), and just have a nice cruise, one following the other, going whereever you like.
