  1. Oh and 530WHP is roughly about how many BHP? I know that WHP is usually a considerable amount less than the HP output at the crank, due to power loss due to all the other forces involved

Probably putting out around 10-20% more at the crank.

Hell of an impressive video. Now to be fair, Block isnt the best driver in the world... put him in a rally car on a rally stage and he looks a bit wandered!

Now how impressive would someone like McRae or Loeb etc etc be behind the wheel of that?

  2. Just a wee post to tell everyone about the new WSGT mod for GTR2.

    Combines 7 cars -

    Aston DBR9

    Aston DBRS9

    Ferrari F50GT

    Ferrari FXX

    Maserati 3200GT Racer

    McLaren F1 GTR Longtail

    Ultima GTR

I've only driven the FXX and F50 GT so far - the FXX is manic, lets say that. On full sim mide with no aids it is VERY difficult to stop it spinning out. It spins in 3rd gear. Nuts.

    445MB download.

    Heres a few videos -

FXX onboard at Monza - Apologies for the slow driving, as I said.. nuts in the corners!

FXX Teleview of same lap -

    F50GT at Monza -

And a few pictures for you all :)

    Any questions just fire away!

  3. Even wear - replace them all.

4mm of Tread is cutting it very fine, replace if the tread is <4.

From the swapping of tyres - just got to remember, just because there is effictively no power going to the "worn" tyres - there is still a load over them and there is contact with the road, so they will wear after a while. Work tyres can cause some serious damage.. I've seen it being done.

Sorry but Tyres are the one thing I personally think you just should not cut corners with, no matter what kind of car. After all, it is the only point of contact you have with the road...

  4. have you noticed what they've fixed the strap to to pull it out of the water ...

they've fixed it to the spokes of the front wheel ...

don't they realise spokes can't take much lateral force !

Indeed. But it might be the only access point they could get hold of, probably because the towhook is sumberged in water. Just hope the wheel nuts are toqued high enough :)

When we had to pull an STi out of a ditch we managed to get it round the towhook, but when the car is underwater its a bit more difficult.

  5. It's the other way round for Sport though. Lewis Hamilton the Englishman today, David Coulthard the British driver when he was at McLaren.

Same with tennis, Henman was always the Englishman, Murray is the Brit. BBC should just name themselves the EBC, thank god J.Motson is gone from most games but of course he will reprise his role from some Internationals. Fair enough say "we" when the game is being broadcast in that country only, but nationally keep it impartial.

Oh yeah it always make me laugh how a surprisingly large amount of americans class St Paddy's day as theirs, sure it's true for a good few but when you ask some of them what St Paddy actually did, they're like "he's Irish", bravo. lol

Totally agree. And dont get me started on bloomin Motson...

  6. Extemely sorry for the lack op updates - Internet went off for a bloody week !

    Well since last update -

Bought new exhaust and fitted it, mucho quietness now. Mmm.

Remember those horrid rotten parts on the front of the bonnet? If not - her is a reminder.

Now most people would crap theirself at that and go - Aargh, bodyshop! Dont be afraid though !

Unlike most I have seen, I actually cut the rust out totally and took it back to bare metal. This way, rust is totally eliminated. But just incase, some Hammerite Kurust was applied which turns rust to metal in a matter of hours. Good stuff.

I then filled up the "holes" with a small cutting of Glass Fibre, and then got some U-Pol Bodyfiller over the top. I'm used to using U-Pol at work and it's what I'm used to. Costly at just over a tenner for a tub that wont last me much longer!

Mixed the filler with hardner, gold ball of filler to pea size of hardner. This sets in about 15 minutes, after which you can start sanding. Started with 80 grit to remove the largest parts (used quite alot to I could get the perfect shape) - then jumping to 240 for the next stage and then a final going over with some 600 to really smoothen it out.

Only done the far left hand side so far - the remaining two bits are quite a big job and I dont want to be stressing about time over such a job. Still got some final touches to do to the left hand side - looks messy because there isnt a primer coat over it yet.

So we are getting there... It's a long process but god it's worth it :D

  7. Sorry for the lack of updates, Internet has been down since last week.

Got a new exhaust fitted, now just need to get the paintwork sorted, new brake setup front and rear, along with new suspension all round... Costly but we are getting there.
