SCS Release New Updates For ATS And ETS 2

SCS have released their latest updates for both American Truck Simulator and 2012's Euro Truck Simulator 2! Responding to the feedback from players, SCS has introduced support for Steam Workshop which allows for players to download and install mods, all from one place without worrying about safety or breaking the games. This also gives players a community to offer feedback and easily stay up to date with the latest mods. Mod creators will be happy to see that SCS have also included a dedicated tool to aid them in modding, the SCS Workshop Uploader.

. And for those who are interested in learning more about modding SCS games they have also created a modding wiki. SCS are awfully nice to us fans, huh?

 

The latest update comes with yet another new feature - the "Ultimate Wheel Customization". Previously the wheels in the game were just one model, so to change your rims, you changed your entire wheel, which as SCS say themselves, wasn't ideal.

We were never quite happy with the existing system, it was too limiting. Customizing wheels should be more varied, more flexible, more fun!

Now SCS has created multi-component wheels. They already recently created separate tyres and discs, but now you also have hubs, hub covers, and nuts (calm down squirrels, not that kind)! These features are now in Euro Truck Simulator 2 as well as American Truck Simulator.

 

And in typical SCS spirit of really polishing their games, they've included a number of bug fixes, improvements and added features. Check out the full change-log below.

UI

· [ETS2 only] Traffic offense can be disabled (option)

· Navigation path (red line) can be disabled (option)

· Disable of hidden Route Advisor popups (option)

· Autopark feature can be disabled (option)

· Speeding highlight on Route Advisor

 

VEHICLES

· Improved truck stability during retarder usage

· Smart cruise control can use activated engine brake when no retarder is present

· [ATS only] Fixed cruise control locked on by retarder

· [ATS only] Multiple position of engine brake

· [ATS only] Keyboard steering improved

· [ETS2 only] Advanced shifting simulation

· [ETS2 only] Real shifter layouts (Scania, Volvo, ZF). To activate them you need to use new profile or remove your custom H-Shifter layouts

 

MAP

· [ATS only] Speed limits polished

· [ATS only] Speed limits signs enlarged

· [ATS only] Stop signs removed from traffic light controlled crossroads

· [ATS only] Turn left traffic light added to some crossroads

· [ATS only] Certified scales are now working

· [ATS only] Traffic light on interstates removed (where possible)

· AI improvements

· [ATS only] Steam achievements for Nevada
