Thanks for your offer, but I already know why GPS is switching back to the old one in race mode. Other GPS texture is located in hud_cha.bnk, and I remember that after changing it, my game crashed everytime I started it.

I'll give it a second look though, maybe this time I'll be more lucky. :P

Like I already said, awesome job! This will make installing winter mod so much easier to the end user. TheDuck38, you deserve our respect! ;)

I know, I know... what happened with white version, you may ask? Well, truth is, I've failed to deliver, and I decided to run and hide into a mice hole... until you forget about it. ^^

You did? Excellent! Then, let me update this mod with another feature. If you love to drive your car in Hardcore mode (who doesn't!?), but hate that damn H letter on your left side, cry no more, it's finally deleted and won't bother you anymore.

Other features are the same, new GPS and new Home icon.

Expect more updates in future to happen. And yes, I know, pace of new features is rather slow... but it's worth your wait.

Choosing weather you want is really easy.

Just go to x:\Games\Atari\TestDriveUnlimited\Euro\Bnk\FX and open WeatherDesc.ini

And delete/reorder lines you don't want. For example:

StaticCfg = "FREERIDEWEATHER_MORNING_TB1" ""

StaticCfg = "FREERIDEWEATHER_AFTERNOON_TB1" ""

StaticCfg = "FREERIDEWEATHER_AFTERNOON_TB1" ""

StaticCfg = "FREERIDEWEATHER_EVENING_TB1" ""

StaticCfg = "FREERIDEWEATHER_NIGHT_TB1" ""

StaticCfg = "FREERIDEWEATHER_NIGHT_M" ""

You don't like fog? Want to drive by night when you start up your game? Just put last line NIGHT_M at first place instead of MORNING_TB1. That's pretty much it. :D Try to find your own config that suits you by moving/deleting lines.

You may also notice timescale. The larger the number is, the faster time changes.

I've decided to put it to 5th gear and finish it ASAP. Result? All tasks are finished in record time and I'll release it in a hour or two. Sounds good? Well, it better be! :P Anyway, I'm looking forward to see your reactions and comments to v2.0 of my Winter Paradise mod. There's no doubt you'll enjoy in it. Hihihihi. ^^

Good knews people, good news indeed! 2nd version of Winter Paradise will be something special! First, Opelos did send me those tree files without leaves, and trust me, they look cool ingame, so there's no need for 2D ones. Second, grass will be a bit shorter, and as for 2D tree textures, I'll include 4 different pine trees this time.

Now we come to the point you've been waiting for. ^^ You may turn your HDR on without being blinded by color of the snow. I've drove for half of hour and pretty much enjoyed myself. HDR makes real difference. :D

And nope, these are not edited in PS. These ARE ingame pics. It's like real paradise... ey? ^^

Also, I'll have to tweak weather files, most probably night will go out cause of HDR. :(

I can't promise quick release of v2.0 cause I'm short with free time (3 more exams left, woohoo!), but what I can do is to share info about enabling your HDR yourself. That will keep you going until a release.

Go to your FX folder and search for HDRIConf.ini. Then under HDRCONF_NAME = "Default" you'll see 4 lines of code. Play with numbers and set them to lower values. For example, mine settings are as follows:

HDRCONF_NAME = "Default"

 

HDRCONF_GLOW_MOD = 0.6

HDRCONF_STAR_MOD = 0.1

 

HDRCONF_BRIGHT_THRESHOLD_GLOW = 0.2

HDRCONF_BRIGHT_THRESHOLD_STAR = 1.4

You may further increase/decrease these values as you wish.

I love driving this car. :D Only thing that ''annoys'' me is missing textures from gauges and GPS, so I gotta feeling like I'm driving a turned off car.

I'm still hoping for a Tool to revisit this car and fix that small issue sometime in future. ^^
