  1. While I appreciate good criticism, there is no carpet in a F50. It has carbon fiber floor with rubber mats. I also created the wrong shape for my rubber mats but I honestly didnt care since I had other things to worry about. Ive not downloaded this car or even installed TDU, but on my model the rear console is leather like the real car, with stitching even. The carpets were aftermarket and I didnt feel like putting them in. Carbon fiber yes I agree is bad, but again I was on my spring break and I was pushing this out as fast as I could. Round circles in the step areas and floor were also done fast to again get it out the door. This car was going to be completed by end of my spring break or not at all. Goes for the smoothing of the interior, take it as it is or not at all. Finally, nothing you or anyone tells me will surprise me, I know every fault in this car, I am my own worst critic. Everyone : thanks again for all the great comments and thanks, makes it all worth it to get this car out for you guys.
  2. To everyone a big appreciation for the thanks, means a lot. Tool : you didnt alpha the F50 logo like I suggested. That was one of the things I was saying it needed when I gave it to you.
  3. Looking very nice, the smoothing is a little hard edged (my fault) onthe interior. But that no biggie, the only problem I see is the F50 logo needs to be alpha'd
  4. Great shots Queen. I hope that Tool gets around to putting the lense domes over the headlights. Also ( tools going to hate me for this) But whenever the car is yellow it has black or carbon inner lights. Something which I should have made a separate mapping for the lights... but I didnt ( doh!) But still great looking ingame shots.
  5. I am VERY impressed, it looks great, better than I could have imagined. Looking forward to interior. Also feel free to play with the carbon if you haven't already, I wasn't sure how it would react with the game. I'm glad I put the work into the engine, it does pay off but it almost looks like there is no vent in the back, My texture for the vent wasn't very good, if you haven't already, find a better one from SHIFT textures.
  6. Well guys as you may have guessed I handed the car over to Tool tonight (for him) He was a good sport and stayed up way late for it. Its final poly count will be 82k, I hope Tool can perform his magic and make it come together. It was 76k, but when I got everything fused together for Tool, the count jumped ( apparently my symmetry modifier hides some polys) Only thing I'm not 100% sure is if everything is textured so I guess I'll find that out tomorrow when he gets cracking on it.
  7. Hi all thanks for the great compliments, I'm really glad I took Tool's advice and made this topic its gotten you guys a chance to see how I work and the progress it takes to get these cars to you. I'm glad you guys like it and I have some new shots ( no fancy renders since I was too busy) but anyhow this car is now getting very close to done. I got lazy and got some wipers and pedals from Tool, oh and some textures too. I'm very pleased with the interior and I think you guys will be too. Its hard to match video game cars in terms of interior quality but I think this will do nicely. I put stitching on my seats, on the steering wheel etc. It is just under 80k.. I hope it will work for you guys, Tool has gotten 90k to work I hope this will also work. Ive squeezed every unnecessary poly out. Polys at 76k though. I still have to map the wheels and tires but I think that's it for this car. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip17.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip16.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip15.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip14.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_interior.jpg
  8. Well I guess I'll treat you guys to a sneak peak at its current state Thanks for the comments guys http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_f50.png
  9. Post if you care! *HINT* when I know the car is wanted it helps my motivation, not asking for praise or whatever just want to know my work is appreciated. Later ;)
  10. Its a shame that you are so closed minded to think of yourself or how things work for you. You call all the people who like his work and APPRECIATE it "fanboys", worshippers etc etc. However there are other words to describe these people, such as "Appreciative, grateful, thankful etc" that he takes the time to put these cars together for them. He may not do things the way you want him to but he has given back to this community many times over. I saw first hand the hard work it takes to get my cars to this game and its a lot of work that would drive me crazy. So hes given back what have you done for it besides piss and moan?
  11. Thanks for the compliments guys, yeah this is a great car which I'll be glad to see in game myself. Well anyhow here is the update news for the day. I got a lot done at this point. The rear hood had been correctly fixed. For the front the headlights had been updated and were much rounder with more realistic headlight assembly. The doors were given depth and the interior panels started. Some textures have been applied for boredom sake and so far the results are quiet satisfying. The final wheels have not been applied yet so for time being my BBS wheels will suffice. ABOUT car replacements and what not, thats all up to Tool I just model on my favorite car. Shyguy : Queen is right.. lol WTH not even GT5 features something as outlandish as having that feature incorporated. Now to the new pics http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip9.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip13.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip12.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip11.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip10.jpg
  12. Hello all, Glad you guys like what you see so far. I have more to show today. The edge removal is finished at this stage and the breakdown began. I detached the doors and hoods. I decided to focus on the chassis body. As I said it already had an engine and I plan to keep it since it does the job. The main thing I had to do for the body was I had to make it a single smoothing group car. Which means no detached parts or other multi smooth groups on the car. To accomplish this I had to put a lot of chamfers and cuts on the mesh. Once that was done I started work on the inner workings of the car.. These are kind of a waste for TDU but since I detached the doors I decided to detach the front hood to. I modeled a good representation of how it looks by following pictures. The rear engine hood was inaccurate so I had to remove a large section of it and and redo it. Same for the front hood it was 95% there in accuracy, however the front was too high, so I used FFD tool to lower it. The other thing I tweaked was the front bumper, the openings were not round enough and also not correct shape. The Indicators have also been updated, much more detailed. Well thats it for now, I'll have more updates probably tomorrow http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip4.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip5.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip6.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip8.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip7.jpg
  13. Hello all, this is something new I'm trying, suggested by Tool. I show what I'm working on in here so you get to know who I am and what process it takes for my cars to get to you. What I have for show in this thread is actually an old project of a friend of mine (VENOM) This was a Ferrari F50 that he had started modeling oh... 2005-2006. When I was giving my cars over to Tool to work on he mentioned he wanted a good F50. Well I said well that should be easy.. but after much searching I was surprised there was not one. All the ones I had thought of where never finished. So that got me to start looking at my friends F50 and I decided Id start working on it. So here is a first shot of it. This is how it looked when I first started working on it. It was modeled in zmod1, so I had to first go in and remove the edges by hand. I usually do not work on older models, I prefer to start new things. But this one I saw potential in, it was modeled very accurately for the most part, it was just outdated to my new standards. Back when it was being worked on, I modeled the wheels, and engine and was the one who critiqued it for accuracy. Anyhow I'll show further progress of it later, hope you like the intro though. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip3.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip2.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/Ferrari%20F50/th_wip1.jpg
  14. Brazzucca : You probably didn't see my current Diablo, ive not shown it at any NFS forum. Ive done many Diablo models so chances are you saw an older one. Others : thanks for the thanks guys, Maybe the updated V600 is in the cards still, just needs the new updated wheels mapped and textures created. Though some may not like it due to the rare steering wheel, but it was not aftermarket in the sense the owner put it on.
  15. Well I don't know what to say. I had about given up on you guys. Though I did notice the things you guys are pointing out about modeler's name placement and what not, I didn't want to fuss about how things were done. The lack of recognition could also lye in the fact I don't use Icekid84 much ( as you can tell) Anyhow Ive got a lot of stuff up my sleeves, and this topic I think has been good for the community as well. So Right now nothing new to release at this second, though modifying existing models is very possible. Anyhow, i had no problem with Tool getting credit because he did deserve it. Taking one of my models is not easy for the fact I have to fuse all the parts together. So he has to separate those up into correct TDU setup. But it did burn me up not getting any credit in replies. (NOTE : some did acknowledge me) I don't release my cars but for two games, WR2 and TDU. So when you guys like my work but I get nothing it hurt since only my friends usually see it. As said name placement and what not could be to blame but the people had to know these cars came from somewhere so it was hard for me to let it go at that. I hope that my cars can still be done for you guys.
  16. Its a Diablo, my best guess is Taunis/Tonn's pre99 Diablo SV. However I cant say for certainty because the roof is too edggy and spoiler too thin. Here is mine in the same angle for reference. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b371/IK84/th_diablo.jpg
  17. Its not aftermarket, its official Aston Martin steering wheel. And I don't like the Crown Vic steering wheel. I only did it because it was stock as I make most my cars. However I found where they also offered this version so I'm sticking with it. I really don't know why I bend over backwards for you guys. A few of you realize its a partnership in getting these cars to you guys, but most figure that tool finds these cars and that's the end of it. Thats true with the game cars (NFSSHIFT,PROSTREET, JUiced etc, but not with my cars. If I sound like I'm getting pissed then its probably because I am. To the ones who thank both Tool and myself thank you.
  18. Ok Ive decided I'm changing the steering wheel, ( always hated that Ford Taurus looking thing) Since I'm at the limit with the textures Ive modeled the lense warmers into the front glass. I'm also going to just redo the wheels completely make them higher quality, smoother etc.
  19. Wow... didn't expect this either. You went a bit too fast since those wheels were really needing some work. And I agree they are very very bright, how can this be fixed, the Dauer and Nazca also seemed bright, Elise seemed fine last I remember. Ive not raced them so I only judge them by the pictures posted. Also, the wheels are huge on the Aston, it does look nice though but definitely not stock.
  20. ceylanwober : If you can do a better "real" car then oh please make something to blow everyones socks off, otherwise try not to post too much for sake of your stupidity showing through your thoughtless comments.
  21. Alright well whenever I see Tool, I can give him the proper wheels. The others were just too crappy as far as the mapping went. I had to relearn how to texturebake wheels again, had not texture baked anything for a couple years. These new mapping coords and textures dont have any crappy edging from the lips of the wheels. Not to mention the fact the old mapping job I forgot to scale the spokes so even the depth part got mapped.
  22. This looks really great.. this was the bump I needed to want to reinstall TDU. I'm glad you got that file to work I sent last night. I'm really really pleased seeing the doors open like they should. This on is different from the WR2 one in a couple ways. 1. I redid the exterior and gave it complete 3d doorlines. 2. I made the door openable. 3. I gave the car one smoothing group instead of multiple ones ( all that means is the car is naturally smooth without detaching or whatever) 4. Its a bit more accurate in the smoothness of the canopy meeting the body. The old one was detached and was always sharper than the real car. about XJR-15.... meh I like my XJR-15 but its not made to my standards anymore, same for my F355. About this car : its actually much faster than the Mclaren F1, 251 mph 0-60 in 2.6 seconds. Very light, and pretty cramped inside lol.
  23. Very nice, I think from now on if I start any new cars, or finish my current ones I might change the way I do interiors. TDU is more friendly and has better outcomes when materials are used instead of textures. I think I'll just use this topic to discuss my plans.I'm currently working on another car for Tool to convert, one of the fastest cars and very rare. Its nearly finished just needs basic mapping. I have a few other cars that are already for him as well. Someone mentioned wanting a Diablo, I am currently doing all the Diablos. Currently have 6.0, 99 SV, 99VT, pre99 VT, pre99 SV started. They are however pretty detailed and may not work out for the file size limit TDU currently has ( time will tell) Those cars need interior bits, steering wheel, rear bumper, exhaust, undercarriage. Some polies can be saved since you guys wont need suspension, engine or trunks but even with that gone its still pretty high.
  24. Sorry to go in ass mode :cheeky: but I think its not up to discussion, since A. I mapped those mirrors and texturebaked them with the orange in mind.. B. my car  However, I can make a new adjusted map for it with correct tones. I'm however partial to orange since its part of my NFS2 collection, I'll talk with Tool.
  25. Very nice work with the conversion. Don't forget this car has orange mirrors. When you get to the colors be sure and make a silvery blue one, since Tom did that with it for WR2 and it was very nice. Perhaps later on I'll do the Spyder version as well, simple enough.
