A friend recently sent me some sounds from Forza 3 and I was pretty excited to the idea of converting some of those for TDU. But when I unpack the Forza files, I only get wav files corresponding to the "on" samples, I don't have any the "off" samples. For example, I want to extract the sound files of the Dino, so I unpack the file "6N0_Dino_Int.fsb" and I get this : - 1 EngA_00864.wav - 2 EngA_01554.wav - 3 EngA_01623.wav - 4 EngA_02690.wav - 5 EngA_03247.wav - 6 EngA_03710.wav - 7 EngA_04613.wav - 8 EngA_04910.wav - 9 EngA_05317.wav - 10 EngA_05993.wav - 11 EngA_06530.wav All these files correspond to different rpm's when you push the throttle ("on"), but there isn't any file corresponding to the sounds that you have when you release the throttle ("off"). So I can't do anything with those files for the moment :((( Anyone knows how/where to get the missing samples and why they aren't unpacked normally like the others are?

released Doctor G - Aston Martin DB4 GT TDU sound
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
You're right, the audio source is pretty saturated and so is the sound mod (especially at high rpm's) I made it a long time ago and never released it for that reason, but today I don't care anymore, it's the best source that I've found for that car and it gives me the creeps when I use it. Plus I have to say that I'm totally sick of clean sounds that most cars have in video games (especially TDU and his poor successor TDU2, who, in spite of what the developers anounced, has the same style of synthetic and unrealistic rubbish sounds) so I felt like bringing some raw dirt with this one. But of course if you can "clean" it (not too much please =p) you're welcome to try! -

released iLLusion: Island Paradise v0.9.5 + Autumn and Winter Add-On
Doctor G. replied to iLLusion's topic in Environment Mods
Thank you very much for this info about removing the fog, I didn't feel like browsing all the pages but I should have :p About the H icon, the problem is not to not have it anymore on my screen, it's a good idea to have it removed, but switching to normal mode suddenly is pretty anoying, you ever heard about this issue and have any clue how to fix it?- 859 replies

released iLLusion: Island Paradise v0.9.5 + Autumn and Winter Add-On
Doctor G. replied to iLLusion's topic in Environment Mods
I never said that I don't like it, I said that I have issues with it. What I don't like is the fog : it is well done, I don't deny it ; I say that it's too anoying when you're cruising in a group and that you're the only one to see it, that's why I'd like to remove it. Everyone should have the right to give the feedback he wants, when he brings valuable arguments. A forum is made to exchange all sort of opinions, not to congratulate ourselves. That works for Illusion or anyone else. Nothing is perfect, including my own stuff and I'm always interested when someone points about something that he doesn't like, that's how things gets better. Now if you have any idea about what I was really talking about, I'm truly interested...- 859 replies

released iLLusion: Island Paradise v0.9.5 + Autumn and Winter Add-On
Doctor G. replied to iLLusion's topic in Environment Mods
Few days after I installed this mod, I had a strange issue : At first, the "H" that you have on screen when logged in hardcore mode vanished from my screen and after like 30 mns, I was switching to normal mode all of a sudden. This happened everytime I launched the game with that mod on, so I had to uninstall it (or rather, I reinstalled everything because the uninstaller didn't work, the "uninstall button" had no effect and nothing happened when I clicked on it...) and now it's fine, I can drive in H mode without switching to lousy normal mode for no reason, but I must say that all this trouble will seriously refrains me to install this again... Too bad, I liked the different textures for the roads. Do you have any idea about this weird problem? And something else : I don't think the fog is a good idea, is there a way to get rid of it? Thanks for answer.- 859 replies

Doctor G - BETA SOUND MODS (NEW: SLR, BRM V16)
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
It's funny, 25 people downloaded the LFA sound and i only received 5 password requests by PM, is it so hard to ask? Mystery... Salajutsu, apl300 and kamata93 : thanks for your comments about it ; as I said, I think it cannot be enhanced more, so I guess it will stay at the state of beta forever... Plus I don't like it, neither the car, so i'm done with it... Urban : I guess you are left with no words about it, too bad... Next time you request me something, if it ever happens, i'll think twice about it... Salajutsu, your feedback about the 996 Cup was really helpful, thank you very much man! Now I've done a much better version that may fits to your critics and I posted it in the releases (http://forum.tdu-central.com/showthread.php?t=24074), I hope you like it! -

Doctor G - BETA SOUND MODS (NEW: SLR, BRM V16)
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
Updated February 3 : Lexus LFA. Honestly I don't really like this one, plus it seems impossible to get a perfect result (no low rpm in the source, the sound is too weird and I can't make clean loops with it). I've had enough working on it, maybe I'll try to enhance it later... -
It's you who should try to help sound modders by finding a good audio recording somewhere, unfortunatly you don't have a chance because there is none... So just forget about it.

Awesome source of exotic cars sounds
Doctor G. replied to dellorto's topic in Car Customization Mods
This is miles away from being an awesome or very nice source... You have 1 or 2 videos that have a good sound quality in all that stuff (not "very good"), the others are complete rubbish. Also, this Youtube channel has already been posted 2 times as far as I know... -
To my humble opinion it doesn't sound like a real Type-e and it should rev much higher (compare with that video for example : ). Nice try though.

Ok, but I don't want to disable the turbo by using a third party program, I want to disable it only by using another bnk (then anyone can use it without having nothing particular to do). @Urban : what do you mean "The turbo whine has nothing to do with the sound bnk"? Some bnk's have some particular secondary effects added, those effects are not included in the bnk itself but their samples are in the "common.bnk" file (transmissions, turbos etc.). For example, if I need to remove the turbo on a Ruf, I 'm going to import the Ruf samples in another bnk that doesn't have those effect enabled, right? It is exactly what I need to do for this LFA sound, no need to use a program for that. Also, as I said, the volume level is not loud enough in this bnk, so to fix that I need to find another one with a louder volume (I would say the Miura bnk for example, I tried it and it's fine, but I'm not going to use that one for another reason : the onhigh sample would be too short then). It's ok, I'll search myself when I will have the time, just asked for help for speeding up the thing...
Not to bother you to mutch but i am wondering if theese videoes are good enough?
The engine sound level isn't loud enough and there are too many other cars around, thanks. EDIT : Urban are you there? Oh well nevermind, I found the bnk that I needed, it's the 350Z bnk, no damn turbo or anything and the sound level is slightly higher, just what I needed. Release soon... EDIT 2 : I released a slightly better beta here : Doctor G - Beta Sounds (UPDATED FEB 3 : LEXUS LFA) - Test Drive Unlimited: Central

Doctor G - Porsche 911 RSR (1974) sound

released Doctor G - NEW TRAFFIC SOUNDS
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
Thanks all! But don't hesitate to critic this or that, this isn't perfected at all (for example, I noticed that the idle of one of the compact sounded pretty bad and the volume level of some vehicles is maybe too loud, that could be changed) and any good suggestion is welcome! -
@wagner : I tried your video and it's not good, the sound is too confused and distorted. I even tried another video that I found myself and who had a slightly better sound but it wasn't good enough either. I'm almost sure that you can find a better one if you search more because I've seen there is a lot of those on Youtube and other sites. @Urban : I (almost) finalized the LFA sound but I have an issue with the sound volume, it is too low and there is a turbo sound on it which makes it sounds even lower (I have pushed the level at the maximum, there is even too much grain already). Though, it sounds better in exterior view (listen the second part of this video) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yt4jyVnGqPU I used the bnk that comes from your (very nice) LFA sound, your samples have a louder level than mine so we don't hear the turbo too much when using it, but with the source that I used which has a lower sound level, the turbo becomes too loud. So, can you suggest another bnk with a better sound volume and more important : without turbo or other secondary effect added? I can send you the samples so you can experiment yourself if you want, just let me know (I don't have the courage to search myself for this bnk right now...)

released Doctor G - NEW TRAFFIC SOUNDS
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
Do you want a pizza and a coffee also? =p -
I made 2 different versions of that sound and I couldn't decide which one was better, so I give you both. None is totally perfect, the onhigh sample is too short in both versions and it's a little grainy etc., but it shouldn't bother most of you. Source : Sound mod V1 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7PwL46PNMU Sound mod V2 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWrMKG7KKjo Download : http://www.filefront.com/17771833/Porsche-911-RSR-1974-TDU-sound-by-Doctor-G.zip/ Thanks for your comments. Note : this sound isn't designed to fit with an existing mod. I use it on the RT12 (which has a 911 RSR skin on it), I know it's not the most appropriated car but I think it should be ok on another slot if you try, like the RGT slot for example.

released Porsche 911 RSR 3.3 76' Coupe (930) with 23 BODY SKINS
Doctor G. replied to StarGT's topic in Vehicle Mods
Superb job, thank you very much for these beautiful skins. -
This is an old project for our beloved traffic bots... I finally had the courage to finalize it. The samples comes from various other games (GT Legends, GTR, Ford Racing, Clutch...). It is not exactly the kind of sounds that I would have liked ideally, however it's a good start. So, these sounds aren't supposed to be ultra realistic, but less repetitive, more natural and much more diversified than the defaut ones (every traffic vehicle has now its own unique sound). 11 vehicles sounds are replaced (all the defaut online vehicles) : - School bus - Firetruck - Truck - Pickup - Minivan - Suv 2, 4 & 5 - Compact 1, 2 & 3 Quick Preview : Download : http://www.mediafire.com/?xq7aqoqfwwf7bzt Thanks for feedback and critics.

released Doctor G - Ferrari 512 BBLM sound - UPDATED DECEMBER 1
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
Thanks for the feedback guys, if I have the courage I'll work on a second version trying to make new cool samples. @HHFrentzen:I don't remember where I get this startup sound, I think it is a 512 Testarossa startup. I may change it in a case of a different version. -
