Hi,i am using the TDUMT -Vehicle Manager -Physics and i wanted to get more insight on how to better use it.How can i better understand the relation between gear ratios, gear types and the other settings.I have a GT Coupe at the moment, and i somehow managed to get it to 3.2 seconds on 0-60 mph, but it was more of a chaotic series of attempts that led to that result, most of the time i dont know what i am doing and i would like to be able to fine tune it without disrupting the basic balance of the car.Like for example, i see there are no limitations to the numbers you can input in gear ratios, how does that work? Also ,how do you calculate the final gear ratio? Most of google searches bring other elements into discussion and i dont think they fit in,like, tire size and diameter. Does the transmission have any effect? I understand inertia,i understand gear ratios and final drive definitions and i've done research on gear ratios on racing cars,on GT9 and on formulas on how to generate really good gear ratios ( n +m/ n-1+m,where n- number of gears ,m-distance between gears ) but i was never able to get numbers like 3,18 on a 1st gear and 1,78 on 2nd.
I understand the speed limitation and i dont care about it,i m fine with the car going till 240 or whatever,i just want to get good numbers on acceleration without it failing often.I want to be able to get consistent results. Also i am using a keyboard.Your help is much appreciated.
