  1. Well I hope I'm a nice Brit. I have to admit I usually get insults from some Americans, most taking the mike out of the way I talk (being a cor blimey guv'nor Essex bloke) and sometimes for no apparent reason. I either stay silent and ignore them or just jump to the map to lose them and join a new session. Feel free to add me to your friends list .... I might actually play TDU tonight for bit ... need a break from Forza2
  2. I think it's a good idea, althought I'm registered on Forza Central I can't be bothered to check on 2 forums each day, so would be good to have a decent Forza section to this to make it more of a "driving game" forum rather than being TDU specific, which it hasn't been for a while as to features in the Forza 2 section, ideas as follows: 1. My Cars (the cars you own or have created) 2. Events (races, drift comps, cruises(well the ring is long enough for a cruise) etc) 3. Auction House (to show cars you're about to put up for sale, talk about good deals you've got) 4. Swap Shop (a place to arrange deals for gifting cars ... guess you're all too young to remember Noel on a saturday morning!) 4. Videos 5. General Pictures (for those wanting to show great smashes, races, drifts, meets) 6. General Forza chat (for nothing that fits in to the above) Well that's a few of my thoughts
  3. Of course I've heard of Aircar ... people forget I work in the industry! Oh and diesel hybrids are being worked on
  4. No but a 'Twister' car would be good ... and I don't mean the game
  5. yeah looks good ... and working from maelstrom you could put on on a car ... or perhaps a tornado/twister?
  6. Hydrogen cars can be either combustion engine (so burning it like petrol/diesel) or used as a fuel cell and making electricity
  7. True Thanks Well I was trying to work out what to do with it as obviously in the film it's just a plain Soltstice (looks like it has some side skirts, bigger wheels and a hard roof) ... as otherwise it wouldn't be "Robots in disguise" ... might add some strikes or something down the side to break it up a bit ... then might see if it'll sell on the AH Oh I can't wait for the movie either :excited:
  8. Well flying cars should be out by 2015 ... LOL! As to the real future of cars who knows, GM is now pushing on the Fuel Cell/Electric technology and wants to have full blown cars on the road by 2010! They believe the Combustion engine must die and that Hybrids are just a stopgap and not the solution. Some very strange cars designs are possible though, especially if you use 'in wheel' motors as your drive which is the way things should really end up as they are way more efficient as you have a direct drive and no losses through gearboxes or driveshafts etc Sorry for going O.T.
  9. Well I didn't pay some film studio lots of cash to use my cars in their film! I would have prefered it if Jazz was still a Porsche and Bumblebee was a Beetle ... but hey we can't have everything can we!
  10. Thought I might as well join in the fun ... though I'm not as good as Neil
  11. Ahh well when I have finally unlocked it and have enough credits (the seond more of an issue at the moment) I'm going to start on my Gallardo ... Black with bright green! Oh and I might try and do some JPS specials too (on a Lotus of course)
  12. Ahh I wondered what was going on at the rear of the Evo ... well it was the general black/purple/lightning thing ... as to mail ... I had some this monring ... thought I replied?
  13. No I haven't unlocked that yet ... been trying to complete the Factory Spec Focus race ... just got Sebring to do ... finished 2nd, then tried again and finished first and then the damn 360/forza2 went wierd on me and showed the credits being added a screen of the cars still racing the circuit, but the track was grass! ... and then the 360 died! Well I've no idea what makes a good or a bad drift car ...
  14. the easiest way to join friends is to make sure you have them on your friends list ... go to the map, go to the player map, then filter on friends ... it's the bottom option. this normally works pretty well if they have an N/A next to their name on the map screen it's because ... 1. they're in a race/event of some type 2. they're in a building (house/dealer/tuner/shop/club/etc) 3. the server they are on already has 8 people 4. I think that's it If it doesn't say N/A next to their name you should be ok ... however there are exceptions 1. if they're doing over 180mph it sometimes has trouble connecting to them as their location is changing quite rapidly. 2. if you need to warp/jump a long distance ... I've had the issue where you rejoin the 'world' you can't see your friends and then it locks ... to get round this jump to somewhere close and then do a second jump to their exact position. Oh and picking a 'quiet' location to meet is always a good idea too ... so avoid the main city and the race track ... they can be a pain ... and on the rare occasion that new download packs come out avoid meeting at the dealerships Sorry if this is explained in the video ... but this is the tried and tested technique ... Oh and once you're in the same server 'lock-on' to each other ... (left a few times on the 'D'-pad, then down to their ID, then right (I think) to select lock) ... oh and if you return to the map you lose connection with the people you were locked to As Nodz says ... quite a few people have shifted to Forza2 and are playing it till they are blue in the face ... i hold my hand up as being one of them ... HOWEVER I will still be on TDU every now and then as there is only so much circuit racing and car painting my brain can handle (Note to Nipper I'm not including drifting as I haven't learnt how to yet!). Organised cruises haven't happened for a while ... normally just happen to some extent (when they do) But here's a suggestion ... why don't you organise a Noob cruise? (I'm guessing you're still newish to this game ... no offence meant if you're not). Create a thread, mention a time (in GMT) and date, give it a subject, suggest what sort of cars to drive (e.g. all Mutangs) and put a list of 8 spaces (obviously with the first one being yourself). Oh and if you do it might be worth adding the relevant people to friends lists so it's easier to find on the map Have Fun, Hybrid
  15. cool vid Nipper/johan ... so asking a silly question, what's a good drift car in Forza2 ... as in straight out of the box, no mods
  16. Thanks for the Rep. So what class of cars are avail in Forza2 that weren't in GT? ... GT4 from what I remember had everything from the slowest cars known to mankind (well from the dawn of the motorcar to be precise) all the way up to full blown LMPs, via GT racers, Rally cars, Super cars and tuner cars. Oh and love the quote by the way ... might have to add that to my sig somewhere Thanks for the rep Nipper
  17. Ahh ... found it My 'Jazz - Autobot' Solstice is getting there ... have the basic shapes for the logos sorted just need to tart them up a bit ... well perhaps attack them froma slightly different angle ... but still managed to sell a copy of the work in progress on the Auction House
  18. Ahh the "Woolworths Special" ... you need to get someone to draw you Wooly and Worth or whatever they're called!
  19. Well I'm a "slider" rather than a "drifer" and most of the time I prefer to have grip round bends rather than going at 90degs to the corner ... Perhaps the old dog needs to learn what this drifitng thing is all about
  20. Perhaps we should get Neils creations together at some point for a photoshoot?
  21. Being a convert from the PS2 to 360 (because my PS2 died, well I had it since launch day, and it took too long for the PS3 to come out and I couldn't be bothered to wait after the delays) I can comment on a level playing field as I used to love playing the GT series on the PS2 (I bought the 360 for TDU by the way) Forza1/2 fundamentally is the xbox/360 version of the GT series as it has a load of production and race cars to tear around various circuits. However it differs by the fact that it then also uses the "Need For Speed" bodykit aspect and also the car colour and vinyl additions In terms of physics ... Well I always liked the old physics engine of GT4 on the PS2, and the one for Forza 2 is pretty good (not too sure what the GTHD engine is like so can't compare). In terms of sounds ... they are great in FULL Dolby Digital surround ... you can actually tell just by the sound what car is on your tail without having to look behind you as most of the sounds for the cars appear to be correct (however it's a shame the F40 doesn't pop!) ... one thing Forza2 does missing out on is the active parts of cars which I know GT used to do ... as in the Airbrake on the rear of the SLR(although I've only driven the one in the demo and not the full game so I need to check on that) and a few others I could name but I won't go into it here .... What else ... well the Auction House is a good idea, a lot better than TDU ... but could be more ebay like as you have to keep bidding manually which is a real pain when auctions extend themselves automatically if there is frantic bidding in the last 2 mins ... especially when you're bidding on a car and then have to leave to go to work. So ... Forza 2 ... a good game ... a clone of GT to some extent, but then you could always say that they're ALL a clone of "REVS" ... (an old racing game for the BBC micro for all of you under the age of 30! ... it's on wikipedia for those wanting to find out more) ... and as to taking on the franchise ... every console has always had it's own versions for franchise ... just look at Mario and Sonic ... what's wrong with having GT and Forza ... both can live in this world? one for those who have PS machines and one for Xboxes ... and here endeth the lesson
