  1. Re: TDU Central Competiton #1 Any news on the results??????
  2. Ahh the old mind relaxant called alcohol ... I know it well Oh and what is it with you and goats or don't we want to know?
  3. Well you can't get more off the wall than "newage custard" ... or is there a reason for it Pinching an idea from a friend, how about "Penguin teeth"
  4. Looks great, if they're in game graphics which a lot of them look like ... if you also notice the ship is from Liberty City I have to admit I jumped on the GTA bandwagon with Vice City and then bought San Andreas (possibly one of the best games made to date in my mind) Lets just hope we haven't lost any of the fantastic free roaming ability from San Andreas ... and I wonder how much they've modelled ... if we use NY geography I would say the Rollercoaster is down at what is Coney Island (appologies for spelling if I got it wrong) ... I'm guessing they'll have a decent part of Queens in there and JFK airport Oh and looks like the time period is roughtly present day
  5. 2hrs 15 and counting ...
  6. If you want a laugh try sliding the Daytona Shelby Coupe in Hardcore with No Driving Aids ... no rear traction !!!!! But for drifting ... RUFs ... simple as that
  7. True ... not a fan of French cars myself ... the interior trim quality is poor ... and I've known quite a few Peugeots to get to a certain age and then just die C2 VTS is pretty nippy 0-60 ... insurance group might be lower because of cheaper parts and less nickable than the Ford SEATs are quite good but an Ibiza of similar 0-60 is the 1.8 and it's Grp 12 so it'll cost a bit
  8. Trust me they looked great and the fronts fitted in easily and with a little reprofiling of the base foam and rewelding of the frame the back fitted in great ... oh and they only cost 25 quid from a scrappy ...
  9. well as the only powerful rear drive car you've driven is an RX-8 I'd agree about staying clear of the rear drives ... known too many people who have come unstuck ... I didn't have a rear drive until I'd been driving for about 6 years and then I bought a MR2 MkI ... one of the best balanced mid/rears you can buy As to what to get ... hmmm ... not being left on the spot performance is difficult !!!! depends on what you're up against ... and NEVER mention that to an insurance company Well I drive a current(ish) generation Celica ... now 6 years old ... only have the 140bhp version but does 0-60 quick enough and holds pretty well on the bends ... you can pick good examples of those up cheap now and they're only group 13 ... for me (I'm 33 and no points or accidents, full no claims) it cost about 300 quid fully comp. In terms of 'performance' cars remember 70,000 miles is normally major service time for timing belts and if it has it quite often replacing Turbos ...this means it's VERY expensive ... one reason why you'll find the Fiat Coupe Turbo is as rare as Hen's teeth ... you have to drop the whole engine out to change the belt on it and also the turbo needs replacing at 70k miles and it costs a fortune. Also the older the car you get the less it'll generally have in terms of traction control In terms of hot hatches the Fiesta ST is a great laugh and you can pick a few year old one up for about 10k these days ... plenty quick enough where you need it ... great handling ... and shouldn't be too nasty on the insurance One of the best things to do is go on somewhere like money supermarket and play around entering car details to see how much stuff costs ... being only 19 you'll find there will be a LOT of cars that normal insurance companies won't touch you with ... and normally for a valid reason. Hope this helps?
  10. RX-7s can be known to depart rather rapidly sp as Marc says you're likely to end up going backwards into a hedge/wall at some point depending upon what you've driven before So a few Q's 1. What have you driven to date? 2. How clean is your licence & insurance record? 3. How much do you want to spend? 4. What sort of car do you want? (hatch/coupe/cabrio/etc) 5. How old a car do you want? 6. Define decent performance 7. Define cheap insurance

  12. I thought they only made 399 Enzos... correction 399 production run plus the Pope Special The old Enzo Ferrari idea of making one less than a round number and one less than how many they think they can sell so they'll always be sought after. As to the previous crash where the car split in half ... it's designed to do that as the car is built of a Carbon Cell for the passenger compartment and then engine/suspension bolts on as a module to the rear bulkhead (just watch old film of Brundle flipping his F1 car in Australia) ... takes a hell of a lot of energy out of the equation!
  13. Here's My first car ... from many, many, many moons ago When I first got her she was an 850 Super Deluxe (850cc of pure power!) Then after Uni I started working and spent in total about 8 grand on her ... 2.5 grand on the engine alone ... a lovely Swiftune 1380cc Road Rocket fed by a 45 Weber I sold her a fair few years ago and then I heard she got sold on again. If you ever see her on the road be careful ... she can do 0-60 sub 6 secs, over 100mph (I think i got her to 110mph around Castle Combe), pull away from rest in 4th gear!!!! Oh and light the front tyres at 70mph in 4th!!!! I miss her ... occasionally
