  1. It's been years, but we finally have the beta for Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad! Get in the TDUC Steam group and let's play!

For those not-in-the-know, Red Orchestra is a super-realistic FPS based on the Russian front, developed entirely by a mod team that went big. It's PC only, and they've clearly figured out how to do it right.

    WARNING

This is meant as a realistic game. Explosions will remove limbs. Run and hide if you have a weak stomach/don't like this stuff.

    Second trailer:

If any of you from Germany need to get the game then PM me and we'll work something out. Thus far, gifting from any other territory will bypass the German censorship rules and you won't get a cut-down version.

  2. For those who don't know, Google+ is Google's new Facebook rival, where your data is actually your data and you can set things up the way you want. Seems very promising thus far, but the big challenge will be getting people to make the switch.

Google+ is a social networking service operated by Google Inc.. The service launched on June 28, 2011, in an invite-only testing phase.[1] The following day, existing users were allowed to invite friends, who are above 18 years of age, to the service to create their own accounts. However, this was quickly suspended in a day after there was "insane demand" for accounts.[2]

Google+ will be built as a layer that not only integrates different Google social services, such as Google Profiles and Google Buzz, but also introduces many new features including Circles, Hangouts, Sparks and Huddles.[3] Google+ will also be available as a Desktop application and as an application on Android and iOS. It has been said that this is Google's biggest attempt to rival the social network Facebook[4], which had over half a billion users in 2010.[5]

    Features

"Circles" enables users to organize contacts into groups for sharing,[6] across multiple of its products and services. A drag-and-drop interface allows users into groups of their choice.

"Huddle" is a feature available to Android, iPhone, and SMS devices for communicating with circles.[6]

"Hangouts" are places used to facilitate group video chat (with a maximum of 10 people participating in a single Hangout at any point of time). However, anyone on the web could potentially join-in into the 'Hangout' if they happen to possess the unique url of the Hangout.[6]

"Instant Upload" is specific to Android mobile devices; it stores photos or video in a private album for sharing later.[6]

"Sparks" is a front-end to Google Search, enabling user to identify topics they might be interested in sharing with others; "featured interests" sparks are also available, based on topics others globally are finding interesting.[6]

Through "Streams", users see updates from those in their circles, updates similar to Facebook's news feed. The input box allows users to enter a status update or use icons to upload and share photo and videos.

I've not much to say, so, who here is already in?

    I'm here

PM me with your email (assuming you trust me) if you need an invite :)

  3. cba with pics, but over the last week I've seen these show up for weddings (I work in the restaurant at a nice resort)

    Maser GranSport

    Ferrari 308

    Ferrari 328

    Audi RS4

    '09 STi

    '79 RX-7

The original (or so he claimed) 1990s Batmobile

    LP560 Spider

    Quattroporte

    DB9 Volante

    Too many Camaros

    Phantom LWB

    R8 4.2

    996 Turbo Cab

I worked a wedding banquet last night until 3AM. Apparently the resort costs alone ran 40k, but apparently much of it goes under the table when Italian weddings come through. Rich... [word of choice]s... -.-

  4. Good god...

Sorry mates, but this is hideous. Maybe if we got rid of that pixellated background and put the asphalt back it would work. All these forums with user info ABOVE the posts are starting to bug me. There is more LOOK AT ME than there is post beneath, and then there is a signature to boot. People with multiple badges also get a funny layout. The blue by the search bar is nice, but the lagoon and these aqua thingies and everything are an abomination. Maybe I'm just being over-critical because I'm PMSing today, but crap.

    /vent

If you need some inspiration for something more balanced, refined, and self-complimentary have a look here. This is certainly better than that last one though.

Edit: Okay, I've cooled down. I like the layout. The shapes and whatnot are all quite nice. It's just those aqua-globes and this background. It's just... gaudy. We're TDU-C, not Marlin Travel. Can we have an option to go back to the good old asphalt?

  5. Its never nice to lose your job, but lets be honest here. Eden have created a pretty sub-standard product here and it makes good business sense to get rid of staff who are responsible for that or not capable of improving it.

Its a shame though that Atari are too blind to know that and are most likely cutting the team because of their own poor management.

    This.

Obviously we can sympathize for people losing their jobs, but really, considering the crap they were churning out I'm not surprised. It's the equivalent of a restaurant worker wiping down only the close half of the table and hoping the boss doesn't notice. It could only continue for so long.
