  2. That's true, but I'd rather have a complete package from the get go. Btw. they said there isn't going to be a "HC mode" type of thing, only that one which they describe as arcadey...so...
  3. I'm well aware of the alternative meaning of the word, and I'm proud to be a part of your PC contingent generalization, wanting a more grown up, realistic experience, as opposed to "moviestyle+arcadey" nonsense, preferred by the console crowd I suppose.;)

I did that on purpose, because moviestyle+arcadey =/= real cars(which is what he says next):oook: I know I haven't played it yet, but I have my own opinion, and that is, normal/arcade mode from the first TDU sucked. HC had its flaws, but was much more realistic/satisfying, and now when I hear these statements, plus those about handling being between grid and pgr, well honestly, I'm disappointed.:( Specially after all the "we're listening the community" talk. I'd like a realistic handling, like HC mode without moon gravity and other bugs, and now it seems there isn't even an option, it's only one mode and if you don't like it, tough titty. Also that talk about some cars being "beginner's cars" and the rest of it, it all sounds unrealistic and fishy to me...but yeah, I'll wait for the beta reports to get a better assessment. On the other hand, I just voiced my opinion in one sentence, which wasn't favorable, and that is a problem(?) around here it seems...

We're proposing a line-up of luxurious cars for car lovers, so we have to provide the sensation of actually driving them. We changed the physics in the first game because they were too demanding: there was no feedback to say you were really moving with the cars." I'm sorry, but "too demanding" is not how I would describe the handling model in the first game. If that was said about driving that mid-engine car(can't remenber the name) in Live For Speed, I would say yes, demanding is the right word, but first TDU? And I presume he's not talking about the PC HC mode either! So, therein lies my concern. Anyways, I hope they thought about guys like me, since they brag so much with listening to the community, ie. us. ;) U.S.S.R: Listen Russian kid(17), the reason mods delete your posts, is because you're a rude and insulting noob(registered a month ago), who doesn't show any respect to the guys that have been here long before you, and who have actually contributed to this community, either through modding, constructive criticism, bringing news, being funny or just being decent conversation partners, unlike you. So, in the future, stop calling people names and stop pushing your nationalistic agenda, it would be better if you'd study your own country's history first, you can start with, oh I don't know, Stalin for example:twisted:, and maybe then, your posts won't be deleted.   6. Please dial back your fanboy knob, you're too loud!:rolleyes: If you're referring to me(and I think you are), read again what I wrote. I'm pleased with how the game looks and with all sort of features it offers, but it is a driving game, and as such, it should represent car handling realistically, but from what we've seen in trailers, that doesn't seem to be the case currently, however much Eden wants to repeat that it's all "better" now, because if they've made it less challenging(from interview) than the normal mode from the first game(really unrealistic arcade), it will suck. Anyways, there's still time and I hope that the game will feature options(handling wise) which can be turned on/off that will satisfy those of us who prefer realism...and from the start of the game this time!

Look, I still like the first one maxed out on my PC, and graphically, the second one has even more detail in textures(+bumpmapping), and then there's weather, day-night cycle, more detailed objects etc...all of that is awesome, but it won't be worth much if the cars handle like crap, it's a driving/racing game first, and then sims/ken & barbie accessorize everything type of game! So far, of what I saw in trailers, handling-wise, it doesn't impress me at all. Couple that with the statement from one of the interviews, that "the handling was challenging in the first game, so they changed it to be more accessible"?? I'm sorry, challenging??? Maybe, if he's talking about beginners in HC mode, which he isn't, so that's a scary prospect for me, because I like the exploring, the graphics, all the new features and so on, but it will all fall flat, in my eyes, if the handling is indeed old school arcadey...I want to play it with my wheel and really enjoy learning each cars differences and advantages...
  8. In what way exactly? I am disappointed with the most important thing, the car handling. Also, we still haven't heard the game(I wanna hear the engines!). Other than that, the second trailer looks the same(level of graphics, no AA), although they said they weren't satisfied with first one, as it supposedly didn't reflect the real quality of the game, so the 2nd one was supposed to be better... Hope there's 3rd one soon to relieve the gearhead in us(realistic handling/sounds)...

  10. hmm It doesn't seem "better" than the first one, also instead of the lame song, I'd rather hear the awesome noises of those cars... Most importantly, handling looks not better, but worse than hc mode from the first game, it has kinda GTA San Andreas arcadey feel to it, which in my book, and for a TDU game, is a very bad thing!:( Disappointed... p.s. Since they're launching these trailers on a weekly basis it seems, how about one tailored not for the braindead douches who only care about accessorizing, but one for the majority that actually care about cars, in which they would show how it's really like to play, how the cars handle with most realistic settings, and with the aural backdrop of nothing but V8 V10 V12 etc symphony? Please??
  11. I know. It's mostly 65/35 towards the front. ...but if you want the car's back to be more loose under braking(faster turn-in), you fiddle with brake bias and set it more towards the rear...
  12. That's a heavy-ass-engined-Nazi-beetle-car, so it's not surprising its rear discs are glowing.;) p.s. btw. in most cases it's just about brake balance, which is practically always biased to the front... [mod edit:] Please do not quote images, thanks!

After you finish Ibiza, it would be fun to revisit Oahu, but other than new textures and objects, it would be most important to have roads in higher poly-detail, because all those nice mountain roads with lots of elevations were barely drivable due to low number of polygons they were constructed out of! p.s. The thing that bothers me the most, is how good the new physics are! After all, this is a driving game and if the vehicles react unrealistically, what's the point of all the other Sims-customizing crap...

Now those things contradict each other somewhat...I'm not sure anymore how will this turn out...:oook: I really really really hope it's not like normal mode from TDU1 or even worse, more arcade than that!:-x
  16. Thx for that man!:) I'm glad they listened to the fans and made new driving model!(hope it's like HC mode without bugs and moon gravity!) Also, "new camera system and better engine sounds convinced with their qualities" ,that sounds promising!:D

Mostly great news and sounds like a heap of fun:), BUT: I really really really(get it?;)) want to be able to choose the "simulation level" from the start of the game, and I, as I suppose most of you, would like something along the lines of HC mod, but perfected!(no moon gravity and similar faults)(basics were relatively realistic, but it needs lots of fine tuning) Also, I hope the road surface gets at least 10x polygons, because the best mountain roads were useless due to the ridiculous low poly-counts!:crying:
