  1. If possible, do custom model names in Djey's Modding Tools. Also, since you're running Vista, try doing all of the Vista-related stuff like setting administrator rights, etc. and try it again.

If it's permanently ruined, restore your DB.BNK from a backup. If you don't have a backup, download Patch 1.67D or 1.68A, which will overwrite DB.BNK with a fresh (although slightly patched) copy.

  2. There's a problem with making Veyron physics for this game, no matter how much real information you put in, the car is capable is greatly exceeding it's technical maximum speed limit. It will easily hit the limit and sit there banging the rev limiter the whole time.

This game wasn't meant for 1100 horsepower vehicles.

Your best option is to use an aero limiter. My personal set of Veyron physics have the full 1001HP of the Veyron, yet it tops out at 260 while drafting (which is a little higher than it should be, but it's not completely inaccurate). It takes a bit of experimenting, but if your aero limiter is high enough, your car won't go past a certain speed regardless of its horsepower. I once had an Evo X with 300HP and I mistakenly set the aero limiter to 2.9 instead of 0.29, and it wouldn't go past 120MPH or so.

@ poster above: I don't know for sure, but I think that there's a setting labeled "Ride Height" or "Suspension Height" - if it's there, use that. Otherwise, just try different suspension settings.

  3. I've seen that before, but unfortunately I don't think that will help. I think hair colors are stored the same way that car paint colors are stored in the database, and that can't be changed without some kind of database edit.

Thanks, though :D If I find anything that might help, I'll tell you. (I've looked at the databases with dredgy's TDUUT tool - it's on Dredgy's website, tdupe.com - but I haven't found anything useful yet.

  4. I looked into how to do this once, as well as changing the colors that clothing is available in. Apparently, the textures are stored in grayscale format, so there's no way to simply recolor the textures. I'm pretty sure that this is a matter actually concerning the database, rather than the textures themselves.

    I hope this helps. :)

  5. I like the hatchback, and I'll miss it - heck, in ten years, the 2008-2010 STI hatchback might be highly collectible or something due to its short production. However, the sedan looks awesome. :D

The only awesomer thing possible would be to produce a 22B-style limited-edition STI coupe. Then again, with the Subaru version of the FT-86 coming soon, that probably would be redundant.

  6. @ Drivefast:

A couple things I'd like to point out:

    1. Diablo didn't post it. Dredgy did.

    2. Even *IF* the modified performance could be used online (which it can't), there are much worse ways of cheating which are already available and have been available anyway.

    3. "For Offline Use Only" is meant as a warning, and essentially keeps people from complaining when their game stops working online (see above) and blaming TDU:C for it - because that way, we can just say "Hey, it said For Offline Use Only, didn't it?".

    @ poster above:

Drag only allows a car to reach a speed which its weight, gearing, and horsepower will allow. If weight, gearing and power won't let it get to a speed, no drag value will change anything. Drag is essentially a top-speed-limiter.

If your drag is a huge number you won't ever go past 100, no matter how much HP your car has, for example.

  7. Brilliant, excellent work - this'll probably become a permanent addition to my game :D +rep

The night mod is especially impressive. Although it looked rather unrealistic from the screenshots, it is actually brilliantly done - not too dark, although the surrounding scenery could be a little darker.

@ poster above: HDR doesn't work with this mod because there are two separate weather files for HDR users and people who do not use HDR. This mod only changes the one intended for non-HDR users.

EDIT: I have figured out a quick trick to selectively use certain kinds of weather and not others - or, as I like to call it, "Batman Mode". Put "//" (without quotes) in front of all weather sets you do NOT want to use, and the game will use every other weather set.

  8. You used a physics mod online. *headdesk*

Do you have a backup of your DB.bnk? If so, restore from your backup. If not, install Patch 1.67D, which should wipe all physics changes.

For future reference, the two (widely recognized) "rules" of TDUPE are like the first two rules of Fight Club :cheeky: :

    1. You don't use physics mods online.

    2. You don't use physics mods online.

In general, change the cars' names in ModTools or TDUPE, but leave performance untouched. Everything possible in ModTools 1.12 is online-safe to change, and everything listed on Dredgy's website as being online-safe is safe as well, but don't touch other settings. Premade physics mods are meant for offline use.

For clarification, the reason physics mods don't work online is because of Atari's cheating detection, which kicks you out if you change horsepower, weight, acceleration, or any number of other key statistics. Many other values, though, aren't restricted in this manner.

  9. 1. Delete Radial.cdb and try again. Sounds dumb, but this is a very frequent problem.

    2. Make sure you're not missing any files (for example, perhaps you forgot to rename a mod file properly). Again, sounds dumb, but it's worth checking, because of what the next step is:

    3. Restore your DB.bnk from an unedited backup. This means you'll lose all changes, but if it works after this, you know your DB.bnk got corrupted.

Are you using ModTools Version 1.10.0? This version is proven to be unstable, and will corrupt databases frequently. Upgrade to at least 1.10.2, if not 1.11 or 1.12.

  10. I've downloaded magic map and some add on cars then replaced the cars keeping back up and the game did not work what did i do wrong??? and how could I fix this

    Thanks for your effort

First off, that font and that color are really hard to read.

One step at a time. What mods did you install, how did you install them, and what do you mean "the cars keep backing up"?

  11. ;268573']Does anyone know how to make the cars continue revving when you've lifted off the throttle (and take longer to wind down)? Like when you nudge the gas in a real car' date=' it doesn't just go up and down quickly - it goes up a little bit more. Same with winding down (the revs go down [b']a lot[/b] slower IRL than in TDU).

It must be possible - when you increase some cars' rev limiters, they take FOREVER to wind down when they're in neutral, and only go down to 1000RPM until you stop the engine or put it into gear. Of course, this seems to be a temporary bug more than anything.

  12. There is no references folder in the main download. The download with the references folder was only available for an hour or two.

    Duh. *facepalm* Sorry about that.

Anyway, check in Add/Remove Programs to make sure the install worked fully. I don't have anything to compare it to, to make sure it installed correctly, but it's probably worth checking. I'd suggest that you check the Registry, except that - it being Vista and all - I have no idea what you'd be looking for.

  13. Well... uh... *mumble grumble* still looks fake anyway... >_>

Anyway, for some reason I can't see this being too successful, unfortunately. Either that or it'll be wildly successful after a couple weeks because of the Lamborghini name, and whether or not it remains popular will probably depend on how it actually tastes. lol

  14. No pictures uploaded yet from my recent vacation to Phoenix, AZ with my fiance, but saw a silver Veyron Grand Sport, blue-on-white Ford GT, titanium gray 2008 Gallardo Superleggera, titanium-on-pearl Rolls Royce Phantom, orange 2010 Gallardo SE, yellow 2010 Murcielago LP640, olive Bentley GT SuperSport, matte black Audi R8 and much more at one dealer. The Veyron was the best of course, but the Gallardo Superleggera was my favorite that was in my price range.

    What the ...?

Were you in Scottsdale? That hardly counts as "Phoenix". :P It's more common to see cars like that in Scottsdale, because - although I do see nice cars around here on occasion (I saw a dark grey M3 E92 Coupe today :D ) - I wouldn't ever see that many awesome cars in one day.

  15. You know that the cost of getting this petrol back to Earth from even Mars, the cost of the nearest planet, would be prohibitively expensive, right? That's even ignoring the cost and insane difficulty of MINING it from here.

It would be awesome if, indeed, we could just drill some oil on Mars and ship it here. Whether or not that can really happen is another matter. Would be interesting, though, if this hypothesis led to a cheap, efficient way to convert carbon and other things into petrol.

I think the dangers of global warming are severely overinflated, but I do think that we do need to prevent pollution in general. However, I wouldn't drive a Prius in favor of a Ferrari or something, much like many of the members here - I'd advocate changes in bigger pollution-causers, like factories, first.
