  1. Hopefully with the launch of NBP (Namco Bandai Partners) today, we'll see an announcement in the near future :) . Just for those of you who haven't been enlightened, have a read of this link: http://www.edge-online.com/news/namco-bandai-partners-announced
  2. If you're paying for it then that sounds like a plan :D however, as a student, I blew my entire year's worth of money in one month on expensive musical equipment (and alcohol) and therefore my diet now primarily consists of baked beans and pasta. Back on topic though, is there any particular reason why the XBox was the first platform for TDU? Was it easier to code or something?
  3. What would I do if I saw TDU2 for XBox in the shops before PC? I would probably go home, sit at my desk and just stare at my wheel while twitching every now and then :P . Unfortunately, if previous patterns are anything to go by, then I think they'll do the same as the first TDU and release it initially on XBox and later port it over to other platforms.

Lol duck central? Am I missing something?
  5. It would definitely be useful for when overtaking (in my opinion) to lean over in the car and see if there is anything coming in the other direction haha. The more I can see of my surroundings without taking my hands off the wheel, the better :)
  6. Hi there I know this is a bit of an unusual suggestion but I've seen that most recent games support 6DOF (degrees of freedom) with Track IR. Currently TDU only supports 2DOF which is yaw and pitch. 6DOF includes yaw and pitch but also has roll, moving up/down, moving left/right and moving back/forwards. They have this support in rFactor and if you've not seen it then I highly reccomend watching video and then try telling me that something like this wouldn't be awesome in TDU2 :cheeky:
  7. If I'm being honest, that shot looks heavily heavily photoshopped. I wouldn't look too far into things :) infact I may even go out on a limb and say it's a drawing, not a screenshot! I can see plenty of brushstrokes in the rain/water effects, especially in the bottom right and also on the bonnet and windscreen of the car itself. I think that mustang shot is more of a demonstration of what they are aiming to put into TDU2 (as in the weather and lighting effects), not what the graphics engine actually looks like :)
  8. I know that we can already buy different types of cars with different types of gearboxes in TDU, but there isn't really much point. If you have automatic gearchanging in your settings, then you will get an automatic gearbox whatever car you drive. And the same for manual gearchanging settings, if you jump into an automatic car you will still have to change gears yourself even though it's an automatic! How about setting the game up so that when you drive an automatic, the gearbox is actually an automatic and you cannot change gears even if you wanted to (having only reverse, neutral and drive). This would make a lot more sense and would also make the cars have their own feel and help to differentiate them more :) . Maybe you could also have a setting to enable/disable this? Obviously beginner players (or even keyboard players) might be put off by changing gears themselves and this would also put them off the game. As a final thought, how about being able to choose the type of gearbox you want when you buy a car?
  9. I've never played that game I'm afraid :) my setup at the moment may explain things. I basically use winamp (because the hotkeys for volume and changetrack still work while TDU runs). Then I would select a playlist with .m3u files for online radio stations (PlanetRock, BBC Radio 1, Classic FM, DI FM etc) and then lauch TDU. While driving in TDU I can press Ctrl+Left or whatever, and this will change the online radio station I'm listening to. The reason I do this is because the built in TDU radio gets very repetitive after a while and even when you put your own MP3s in, it still gets quite repetitive. The reason I listen to online radio is that the content is always changing and it really does feel like real driving when you have the radio on. I think having an option like this within the game would be pretty cool :)
  10. Exactly my thoughts tdu ggas :) exactly my thoughts! I've invested in a G25 and will hopefully be getting track IR later in the year so TDU2 would be perfect to test it out on!
  11. I know in TDU we could make our own radio stations with mp3s and such, but do you think it would be a good idea if we could also use .m3u files that you listen to online radio stations with? For example I could be driving along in my Audi TT listening to radio one or something and then get in my Jaguar and switch over to classic fm or something  Whaddya think?

Haha thanks for the responses! Cant you tell it's Piquet, JazzyTypeR :p ? Fail follows wherever he goes!
  13. I agree completely RAPTOR, lol, I dont care when it comes out, I'm getting it the very first day it comes out! Provided it's for PC that is... I dont think I could handle seeing it splashed on the XBox shelves, taunting me!
  14. Found this place on a google search when looking for possible news on TDU2 :) also I used to check here out for the occasional mod but I didn't feel like massively tampering with a game that pleased me just fine (I have a thing for playing games they were intended to be played).
  15. Heya there I'm Woffin, you've probably guessed that already by now though! Top marks if you did, you're one of the observant ones . I'm from Widnes, a small town in the UK that's slap bang between Liverpool and Manchester (If you know where IKEA in Warrington is, you're doing good, award yourself some more makrs). I've always been a massive F1 fan since I was a child, I've been to Silverstone twice (2008 for the weekend and 2009 for the friday) and have always played games such as rFactor, mostly on whatever F1 mods I could get my hands on really. However it struck me one day how repetitive the whole process was and how it was basically the same races played over and over again, I needed something fresh... So I had a look around at what other driving games there were. Most seemed quite arcady, others were just not my cup of tea at all. Then I stumbled across Test Drive Unlimited. Within the first hour of play, I was hooked. It was such a compeltely new type of game and experience it just blew me away. I mean come on! A driving game with no compulsory start line, finishing line or checkpoints? Also, Test Drive Unlimited got me hooked on real cars and has helped me appreciate the cars I see on the road every day (and the occasional supercar too!). Once I'd done pretty much everything in TDU though I could easily see the loose ends. No weather, dynamic time of day and all the really immersive stuff that would truly make the game so addictive it would ruin your life! Then I heard about TDU2, and this is where I am now :p... Apologies for the giant slab of text! You did say to introduce yourself though haha... -Fin
  16. Upon googling for any news on a TDU sequel I came across this thread. I hadn't found any news anywhere else on the net and with being a HUUUGE Test Drive Unlimited addict, I felt compelled to register and just say that I am incredibly excited about the screens and news posted here! Obviously the concept art is just that, concept, and is highly unlikely to actually represent the finished game. However the news about weather and dynamic time of day and fuel and (I could go on lol) but also having a screenshot of development to prove it as well is simply fantastic! This game can't come soon enough :D
