  1. I think it's probably to do with the way the arms are animated. Either way, it does look a bit daft sometimes when you apply full lock and its only moved a bit in car lol.
  2. Already suggested here ;) http://forum.turboduck.net/showthread.php?t=12185
  3. This is probably one of the most interesting threads going in the suggestions forum haha :D passenger idea is absolutely brilliant and walking around would just make the game so much more immersive. I cant really add much more to the discussion apart from saying "nice ideas all round!" ;)
  4. Must admit I've never really been a fan of the dodge viper before but just looking at those pictures you posted makes me want to go and get one! In black! That looks so nice with the roof off :)
  5. Haha you'll be lucky if that ever sells unless there is something amazingly special about it (like it's done a hundred thousand miles or it's gold plated). Try something more realistic and you may get some more people interested ;)
  6. If you're using an offline profile then I dont think there is any way to disable them. You will get your normal traffic and then every now and then you'll get a random supercar driving all over the road. If you're using an online profile then I'm not exactly sure I know what you mean. The only bots in online profile mode should be the ones like normal cars and trucks that always drive on the correct side of the road.
  7. I think that the servers were down last night because i was driving around and the servers cut out on me mid-cruise). They're back up again today now so it was probably just a restart with it being a new month, so try again now and let us know what happens :)
  8. Had a go on TDU for the first time in ages earlier (I've had exams for University and also reinstalled my PC recently so I've not put it back on until before) and immediately I noticed a few things that caught my attention. Why do the AI cars constantly have their lights on? It sort of takes away from the whole weather aspect because the sun is beaming down and theres not a cloud in the sky and people have their lights on full lol. Crazy! The GPS is quite handy in giving you directions, but only if you're going at road legal speeds. If you're going 180 in a Ferrari then by the time she says which way to go, you've long passed the turn! An option to set the GPS callout distance would be awesome. Also, working mirrors would be nice. Some cars are better than others but jump into the Saturn Sky as a perfect example (my favourite small cruiser) and look over to the right side of the car. The mirror is hopeless and you cant see anything! Some mirrors are also completely warped out of shape too. I know this isnt a problem for most people, but for those with TrackIR (which i shall be investing in soon :D ) then the whole point of being able to move your head is to see around you, check your mirrors, look at the hot blonde sat next to you etc
  9. Schumacher confirmed as Massa's replacement! Now this should be interesting :D http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8172310.stm
  10. Has anybody suggested the Delorean yet? If not then I will  would be nice to have it as some sort of bonus unlockable car, or as a reward for a comedy challenge or something. Everybody was too serious in TDU1 haha.
  11. I've heard quite a few different rumours and possibilities for replacements: - Schumi, for obvious reasons! His manager has ruled it out yet his spokeswoman says he'd consider it. - Gene, has recent race experience from Le Mans and has been a ferrari test driver for a few years. - Badoer, has been a ferrari test driver for nearly ten years! Not much recent race experience though. - Bourdais, has current F1 experience and used to drive for a Ferrari powered team. - Fisichella, has a lot of F1 experience, including this years cars, Force India still owe Ferrari money for last year's engines and the guy is also Italian, as well as a proven race winner.
  12. That is an absolutely awesome shot turbolag :) my favourite car and the way you've positioned everything within the shot itself just works. The lights also help too :p Top marks from me, even though I didnt get to vote in time lol.
  13. Ive had this problem a few times too, but I dont think it's a problem with video drivers. I think it's some sort of game bug because the crash only happens (for me) when the camera goes outside of the tunnel. Say for example I'm taking a picture and then I'm moving the camera around. If the camera goes through the top or the sides of the tunnel then the game will crash 100% guaranteed. I hope this helps :)
  14. I personally wouldn't mind having Hawaii again, provided that it's a heavily revised version of it :) . The setting is really nice and provides us with lots of different types of roads and situations. Also the developers have a nice head start as they already have a good basis on which to begin! As you say though gogators43, the repetitiveness of the surroundings became extremely obvious over time. I wouldn't want TDU2 to be located somewhere else and still have the same repetitiveness, rather to have the game on the same island but with more variation and detail to the content.
  15. I'm sure I'm not the only one here wishing Felipe Massa a speedy recovery from his horrible accident in Qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix. After a freak accident claiming the life of Henry Surtees less than a week earlier, this was the last thing that motorsport needed :( . I hope that he is able to overcome his injuries and make a full recovery :) Forza Felipe!
  16. Considering that TDU was originally made quite a few years ago, it's very unlikely that TDU2 will not have any new features that require greater specifications ;)
  17. I keep forgetting this game originated on the XBox 360  that would definitely explain some of the limitations. I hope the developers are making the game with the PC in mind so they dont have to drop features for conversion.
  18. The idea of a police helicopter is brilliant! :D Normally when you have one or two stars on TDU then you have a few cars following you but if you drive and drive then it's quite easy to escape them. My development of the helicopter idea would be that, as someone else suggested, you should only have at most three cars EVER following you. Once you reach the maximum amount of stars then a helicopter would take off from a specific point on the island (the prison/police hq probably). If you manage to escape the cop cars before the heli catches up with the chase then you get away with it ;) . However if the heli catches up with you then no matter what you do, the police will never lose you and you're going to end up in prison. Whaddya think? :) Also, yes we should definitely have some real cars as police cars! Not as detailed as the player owned ones as that would have too big a dint on game performance.
  19. Actually thats a good point because when my friend comes round to play test drive, he sticks it in automatic and if he's cruising along at 60mph in some supercar then thats probably going to be 1st gear still, and it sounds horrible lol!
  20. I always have it at 900 degrees, it makes pulling out of a junction a lot more realistic because you have to put realistic amounts of lock on (i.e. a full turn sometimes if it's from a standing start). Something that's always confused me in the TDU settings is the different parameters. Linearity, Bars Sensetivity etc. If someone could explain what these actually do in terms of control, it'd be massively appreciated :D
  21. Looks quite low quality if it was an official update or artwork, hmmn, also the caption says 2007?
  22. ...seem very unusual in TDU. In normal mode, your car is magnetised to the ground yet in hardcore mode it likes to fly like an eagle. Also I dont know if its just me but when I'm driving a car it feels like it wants to drift all by itself. Now I'm all for drifting, it's so much fun :D but shouldnt we have to achieve it ourselves without the physics of the game making it easy for us to begin with? Also, what is with not being able to flip your car upside down? That was one of the biggest let downs for me, when I had my first big crash the car went into the air and then magically transported itself to the side of the road, facing the right way up again. Here's my suggestions for improved physics in TDU2 :) 1) Have a play of rFactor. If you havent already got it, then you can download the demo for free! The physics on that are awesome, especially the FFB. I suppose its all down to personal taste but even in Hardcore mode, TDU still sometimes feels like an arcade game. Yes I know that rFactor is a dedicated sim, and having physics like that might put some casual players off, but I feel that if you can work your way to Hardcore mode to begin with then you're good enough (and dedicated enough) to be able to play with realistic physics. 2) Fix gravity. Fair enough there are some huge hills and bumps in TDU for us to launch ourselves off but somewhere inbetween the 'stuck to the ground' and the 'floaty' gravity of normal and hardcore would be great. 3) Let cars roll! If we're going to crash then at least let us have a good one! When we come to a stop all we would have to do is press "B" like we already do at the moment and we're back on the road. It annoys me that once you go past a certain amount of degrees, the car puts itself back the right way up. The underside car textures cant be that bad can they? :p
  23. When you said "New Terrains" I immediately thought of the road surface. Although that's the thing we drive on and spent the vast majority of our TDU time racing over, we tend to overlook it quite majorly. The markings are all the same and the edges just fall off into the grass. I think that, before making new areas in TDU2, the developers should maybe have a look at refining the current road surface by making it blend into the surroundings a bit better and make it feel a little less generic. Proper sliproads and junctions would be awesome! When you think about it, the road is our only real contact between us and the game, so it should be one of the best features, no? :D
  24. I too would like some official confirmation before I get my hopes up... but if that link is true confirming TDU2 for november this year then I will be a very very happy man! :D
  25. This is good timing with the question :) my G25 arrived a few weeks ago but because I'm in the middle of exam season at university, I've banned myself from opening it until my last exam on tuesday  ! Btw BobbyV, I've read on some sites that you should set Spring Effect and Damper Effect to 0% as these will override the Force Feedback that should actually be used within the game with something that isn't too good. This site may be a good read :) http://www.thewayiplay.com/mainforum/index.php?topic=2.msg363#msg363
