  1. You need to provide more details of what happened. You said you were playing for two weeks before it happened, so for those 2 weeks all was OK? If yes than think what youve done to your PC in this 2 week time, like installed new driver, new software, was there a power failure when you were playing TDU, maybe a virus that wasnt disinfected fully by your AV program? Many things could happen... You also should provide your PC specs (incl. operating system) if people here are to help you. OOps. Did I scarred him? :P
  2. OK.
  3. No you dont need to do that. You can run it from any location on your HDD. @TrollandDie: If you are on vista or Win7 right click on executable of modding tools and select run as administrator. Ive just checked it on Win7 x64 and it was giving my exactly the same error you are talking about - so just run it as admin and you will be fine; of course only when you have set your game dir properly.
  4. By saying "i can use modding tools" I meant I can use any part of it without errors, including vehicle manager. Ive tried some new cars; I remember I swapped one for Edonis (which is from megapack) and swapped it back and my game is still playable; when I was doing this I also changed names to new car and back to Edonis, changed some other cars from 4WD to RWD and back, edited slots in shops and so on - no problems. And yes I'm from PL but am too lazy to update my profile :)
  5. I have polish version of TDU with megapack (and I hate it like every localized versions of games) and I can use modding tools without any errors. So, your problem must be with your installation, corrupted files or something.
  6. Thank you! I am thinking of swapping Zondas camera cause its really weird - the driver view; It looks like the steering wheel is too low and feels like driving a toy car. Any suggestions? Anyone tried to swap it?
  7. I know what is camera and what to expect when swapping it, but can you explain what is IK? And if I swap a camera of a car, do I need to swap IK also? Thx.
  8. I recently downloaded a lot of sound mods for TDU and found myself tired of manually backing up original files and copying new ones. But there is easy solution for this: a little software which I know very well from modding Silent Hunter games (the community there is using it since ~2005 or 06) called Generic Mod Enabler. You install it into TDU main folder and it will activate mods and backup original files for you. It works with any mod that just replaces game files with its own files, it wont work if , for example, a mod need to add some lines to some ini file - but as far as I know there is no such mods for TDU yet. You just need to put your mod into correct folder structure and paste it into MODS folder created by JSGME in TDU directory. So: 1. Install JSGME into [your path]\Atari\Test Drive Unlimited, so JSGME.exe will be in the same place as TestDriveUnlimited.exe 2. First time you run it it will create MODS folder where you will put all your mods 3. Prepare your mod to be "JSGME ready": the mods folder structure need to be exactly the same as original files folder structure; if your mod is a sound mod for Zonda then it will replace a file in Euro\Bnk\Sound\Vehicules directory, so your mod needs to be placed in the same folder structure: Zonda sound(ie. mods name)\Euro\Bnk\Sound\Vehicules\Zonda_Rst_audio.bnk and than move it to MODS folder in TDU directory 4. Run JSGME, it will display all mods it found in MODS folder; now you can activate your mod or mods (if many). Original files will be put into backup hidden folder in MODS dir. -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- Just remember two things: -double check that your mods has correct folder structure to ensure your mod will be placed in right place - when uninstalling mods make sure you start with newest installed first (last on JSGME activated mods list) - this way you will be sure that your game files will be correctly restored. I hope it will help those people here who are modifying TDU a lot. It saved me a lot of time, so I could play more than just copying and pasting one sound or vehicle file at a time. Good luck! 9. From all super cars there is one missing from TDU (now when we have Veyron) - its Shelby Ultimate Aero. Maybe its not that beatiful like european cars but its fast :) All the info a modder needs is here: http://www.shelbysupercars.com/ultimate-aero.php -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) --
  10. Ok. thanks. I just though it was something wrong with my installation, and I couldnt find any info about this in the read me... so maybe you should update the read me so things will be more clear to new people like me. Just a suggestion. And thanks for the patch, you are doing awsome job; I would never believe something like that will be possible with TDU:thumbsup:
  11. Hi, Ive got a question to users of 1.67 community patch. There are new items at Semporio shop (or maybe it was somwhere else?) called "swimsuit" but they are invisible and make my character invisible too. Whats going on? I tried to check the avatar files with modding tools but couldnt find any item with that name. Any ideas? My installation of TDU: game + patch 1.66 + carpack + 1.67d + magicmap Last one I have installed "just in case", I am not using any modded cars for now, so Im not sure if I need this file, but i also dont think it can do any harm to use it. [by the way: I am really positively surprised by what's going on here. I am a single player gamer, dont like multi too much in any game, so TDU was dead to me for almost 2 years, now Ive found this site and suddenly TDU is alive again. Good work! It's sad that game developers cant understand what modding can do to their bugged games and dont provide us with some basic modding tools "out of the box".]
