  1. 944? Nope, but a 911 maybe... But if you have a good audio source for a 944 why not?
  2. Sometimes I listen to a sound that I've made months ago and I think to myself "damn, how could I realease such a bad sound" and this is the case with this Shelby. In fact it's not that bad but the onhigh sample is totally horrible : hyper-saturated, without any bass and it doesn't fit at all with the onmid sample, the transition sounds not natural at all... So, this one should have been released as a beta i guess, I'll see if I can make a better onhigh sample in a near future...
  3. Maybe the server isn't going to shut down so soon, no one seems to know. I won't stop until it happens however, I hope it's for the longest time possible so I'm not dead yet! Sorry I just should have said nothing here until the server really closes for good, but I was kinda "mega sad" too when I readed about it... It's just so-so... The downshifts and the high rpm's are not loud enough, background noises, wind etc. Doesn't worth the time spent on it... Not too sure, i'll give it a try, promised, but it doesn't sound so good. In fact, I tried to make a sound from this one for a long time ago, but I never finished it... It's hard to get some good low rpm's, but ok, I'll try to finalize it then, as it seems that a lot of people would like this sound... Fortunatly there wasn't a guy speaking non-stop in the Gallardo video... Too much background noise.
  4. Thanks guys, I just uploaded a V2 with some little changes (detailed in 1st post, old link has been removed). It's still a bit grainy but I don't think it matters really.
  5. I don't know, I never tried to know, until yesterday when I found the info about the shutdown... But that wouldn't have changed anything...
  6. I understand, but for my part I'm not going to play offline during hours/days (the time I need to test the mods) after almost 2 years of online gaming, it just sounds impossible... Believe me, I'm the first one to be sadened by this situation.
  7. Well, I don't know for you guys, but making sound mods for a game that is supposed to have its server down in january 2011 (That VideoGame Blog TDU servers shutting down in 2011) kinda depresses me, I'm not very motivated anymore. Maybe I'll finish one or two things that I've already started (Zonda, new traffic sounds) but it looks like it's the beginning of the end (that means no more requests here, sorry), too bad because I really liked it :(
  8. Thanks. The ignition time is the defaut ignition time, I never modify this kind of things.
  9. Sources : & Sound mod (this is a beta, release has little modifications) : Download V3 : Lamborghini Gallardo TDU sound mod V3 by Doctor G.zip Thanks for the feedback.
  10. This isn't good, the sounds are not stable and long enough, I would have to use the doppler (as you can make stable sounds from the start it's absurd and a waste of time). There are only 3 shorts mp3 per car? You should make the samples corresponding to those in TDU, ready (or almost) to be imported, 10 seconds each and at an absolute constant speed, not slightly up and down like you do (no need to redline too). Don't forget long decelerations too (they don't have to be stable like the other sounds of course, 3/5 seconds each minimum). That means 8 different files for each car (where are the startup sounds?). Also, don't save those files in 128 Kbps mp3 format. Use mono 192 kbps minimum, in wav format if possible. Sending links in PM and not in public forum would be better too...
  11. The best thing to do is to make a link (mediafire etc.) then send it to me in PM...
  12. Hi, I'm interested in doing those models if you want : Audi TT, Ford Mustang GT, Nissan 350Z, Nissan Skyline R34 GTR, Pontiac GTO, Volkswagen Golf GTI. I don't promise anything but if the sounds are cool and in good quality then no problem. Let me know and eventually send me a link with some samples (any car you want, just to listen and try), thanks.
  13. Source : Sound mod : I've done an alternative version (included in the zip file) without the "trembles" at high rpm (sounds nice but the looping can be anoying at high speed) and with a different idle sound. Download : http://www.mediafire.com/?obb6spz8db2l3ls Thanks for your feedback.
  14. Allright, but here we are precisely interested in using sounds in a video game, so why not generating a file that you would consider as a good example of a nice audio basis for making samples instead of this file that won't convice anyone? I don't get it (maybe spending more time than just one minute?). Well, please do those enhancements yourself so I can have a clearer idea, because for me, the audio in its current state is totally ruined and doing something with it is far beyond my capacities. I simply think that, if you modify too much your audio with bandpass, highpass, lowpass or anything you will lose the realistic and natural aspect of the sound and it's exactly what I don't want. I prefer to keep the little noises that 95% of people won't even notice. I don't see what you mean by "limiting myself", the simplier is the better to my opinion and it's not because you're going to use tons of effects, add exhausts or anything that it makes your sound better, rather the opposite... What do I have to lose? Time of course, I've already lost my illusions :o
  15. In the first audio there is a bit of echo in the cockpit and also some wind/gravel noises or something. The treatment that you applied removed these, but the bad part is that what remains of the engine sound isn't of any use to me : there is a strong echo, ugly artifacts in background and no basses anymore. At this point, I'd prefer to use the non-edited audio file for a better, more realistic result. But maybe you did not push the process to its limits, is it possible to make something better with more time spent on it?
  16. @dany080 : Hi, thanks for that proposition. I'll send you some samples that gives me trouble or a link to some audio that we could work on, and we'll see what is possible to do. By the way what tools are you using to reduce those noises? I don't know much about methods to enhance a sound but if such a task is possible, then there is an infinity of sources that would become usable and interesting. @Urban : thanks, I don't know what is so complicated to understand in my requirements... Plus all these comments that I have made previously for such bad stuff should help, but many people don't read :(
  17. I've just fixed the download links from the beta thread (http://forum.turboduck.net/showthread.php?t=19813).
  18. All links are fixed and now working again. Please leave feedback if you download, I want to know what you think of those. For the next betas I will only post a video, if you want to test the sound mod, send me a PM with your mail and leave a comment after you tried it.
  19. The problem with your sound is that the speed isn't stable and it's all in one file. You should make stable sounds one by one corresponding to those in the defaut TDU sound then your idea can be good and it will be much more easy for the modder to do something nice.
  20. PedroCruz, I missed your message sorry man. I'm going to PM you some links.
  21. Yes probably, but I would have to upload another bnk and this one has already been downloaded 30 times so it's too late... Thanks for comment mate. Thanks for this crucial remark but I think I'll leave it like that : it suits well the complete failure of this mod after all... I guess you must have good times on this forum with bi****ng about spelling mistakes.
  22. Ahahah, this is embarassing, it's not exactly the same but it's too close to be honest... So it seems that some lame dude recorded the sound from NFS and pretended it's a VR6 for the ringtone stuff or whatever (I did not get the audio file from the ringtone site originally but from a free site with various low quality car sounds ; this ringtone site with the same sound on it was just more convenient for a previewing) and here I come like a naive newbie, using my doppler and all to make it sound right for TDU. This is completly silly (but I always said to myself "hey it really sounds like a engine from a video game", lol). Here is what I get from getting suspect audio sources from stupid untrusted sites :p
