  1. I must say that you're right, it sounds very similar but I doubt that EA make their sounds from crappy little audio files like that! Could it be that this isn't a real VR6 sound in that source but the sound recorded from NFS? That would be pretty grotesque! You hear right! But now i'm not too sure if it's really a VR6 sound...
  2. Thanks! I have 2 different unreleased versions from different sources that are really not bad too, with even some better samples but this one was the most finished so far, so I released it first. Depending on the feedback here, others may follow, could be on more appropriated vehicles (I made it for the Esprit V8 just because the design looks a bit similar :s), not sure yet, please tell me what car you think would fit ideally (the engine a is straight 6).
  3. That's too bad there is no M1 in TDU because this video was pretty good to make a fine sound for it. Source : Sound mod : Download : http://www.mediafire.com/?i9q98lp6mb8z0zo Thanks for the feedback.
  4. EDIT : THIS IS NOT A REAL VR6 SOUND BUT OBVIOUSLY THE SOUND FROM NFSU2'S 350Z (99% SURE), THANKS LETUNNEURS FOR FIGURING THAT OUT. I WOULD NOT HAVE RELEASED THIS MOD IF I HAD REALIZED THAT BEFORE, BUT NOW IT IS TOO LATE... 5. This one will not please everyone because it sounds raw (almost unfinished) and low-fi, I hesitated to release it but it has a little something special that worth a try, just like the source video (which by the way reminds me the astonishing urban night atmosphere of "Shutoku Battle" aka "Tokyo Highway Challenge", on the regretted Dreamcast). I know that the turbo is too loud so if you're not a "loud turbo lover", just pass your way... Source : Sound mod (this is the beta, release is a little different) : Download : http://www.mediafire.com/?6vfscv0cxjs4dwd Thanks for the feedback.
  6. Oh sorry I didn't understand what you were talking about... Yes I have all the files from this CD but I think I have already used all those that were good, this F355 audio for example is useless mostly because you can hear the screaming engines of other cars around during all the recording.
  7. Not at all, I think you didn't read the other posts. What f355 files? It's not a sound mod, it's a real record... Doing such complex sounds for TDU is absolutly impossible! I made a sound mod from this audio though, but I cannot finish it right now because I have some big problem with the high rpm's : ` https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6yLWN-33cQ
  8. The thing is that you must be a musician or have a "musical ear" to do that : the capacity to recognize notes of music from others and memorize those. If you have that skill and only at this condition, then things should get easier. Here is a personal tip that I use sometimes, 100% good transitions garanteed : Extract all the samples from the original default bnk (which has right transitions), listen to them and adjust your new samples to the exact same tonalities by using the pitch tool (example : your "onmid" will have the same note as the default "onmid" etc.). When you have done this with precision, adjust in one go the tonalities of all your samples to something that sounds like the real model, in general you lust lower the global tonality (example : -20% for all the samples). The startup isn't concerned of course and the idle sample cannot be adjusted correctly everytime, so it depends only on your choice. When you're done, your transitions may sound ok, but always test your sound for a very long time to be 100% sure and make some little adjustments if necessary, long hours of testing will make you hear things to be fixed that you did not notice at first place.
  9. A bit too saturated but this cannot be fixed (the distortion is already in the source). Also, the "onhigh" loop isn't very stable but I think most people shouldn't notice. I'm not really sure about the max rpm, the counter shows 6000 rpm max in TDU and 8000 in the video so maybe it's not exactly the same engine... 10. A sweet racing V12 sound for the F512 Testarossa. This BB LM makes so many cool noises that it was really hard to choose which ones to keep in a sound mod... Maybe I can upload another version with different samples that are really nice too if you like. Source : Sound mod : Download : Ferrari 512 BBLM TDU sound V2 (512 TR slot) by Doctor G.zip Thanks for your feedback.
  11. Thanks. I worked hard on that one but only the high speed sounds really correct finally, it's a good example for showing how it is impossible to have a 100% good sound mod from a source that isn't appropriated (in that case : lack of low and middle speed). I've just changed the low rpm sample and fixed the offmid/offlow transition (new download link). It doesn't sound as realistic and cool than the previous one but at least it's stable and isn't that painful to listen at constant speed...
  12. Hehe I found so many good pictures from that movie I didn't know which one to choose. I must have seen it 2 dozen of times since I was a kid, one of my all time favorite too, they don't do movies like this anymore!

    1. Thanks guys. Maybe i'll post another version which use some different samples for the low and mid rpm's, making the car sound a bit faster.
    2. Thanks you too man I'm still working on it, it's hard to make it sound close to the original. Thanks for this, I wasn't too sure but well, now I must do that sound lol... It's still the better car in TDU to use with it I guess. We'll use the bumper view and let the imagination do the rest... EDIT : LINK AND THREAD TITLE UPDATED OCT. 4, FINAL RELEASE UPLOADED
    3. roenick I'm going to release a better version of that Ferrari V12 sound soon (what does it need to your opinion?) and also the Miura if possible. I've posted a new download link too.
    4. So, if I follow you well, you have set a bike sound on a Lexus car, you think it sounds cool and close to the sound of the video that you posted instead of a preview but you would like some help for making the low rpm better than those of the sound that we didn't listen and also you don't post a download link but that's because you have "smth" to share... Is that it?
    5. There is no 275 GTB in TDU, but I wanted to have the V12 sound from that movie badly... The result, after much efforts, is a bit disapointing. First, it's impossible to make good low and middle rpm loops and second it's a dream to make it sound as big as in the film, I blame the mono format, among other things. But it's still a nice sound in itself, hope you like it (uses the F250 GTO slot, her big sister, which has a V12 too...). One last thing : I couldn't find anywhere a good 275 GTB idle sound, so I used one from a F250 GTO instead. Source : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COyab3YQS48 TDU sound (low rpm is a bit different in the release) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bm3RYArJ8k Download : Ferrari 275 GTB TDU sound by Doctor G (fixed).zip Enjoy and thanks for your comments.
    6. Done. I've received your samples and I think it's better to forget this video, no good sound mod can come from bad amateur audio with poor dynamics like this one. Just one thing : Many of your samples aren't stables. A sample is like a note of music, it must be linear, stable and not change of tone, no matter how long it is. If not, it will not sound natural in the game, exactly like changing the tonalities in a music would make it sound false and painful to listen. It must turn in loop the more perfectly possible at the same tone. It's the hardest part (and not always possible) of sound modding from rubbish audio and many of your samples were not stable at all, so I would suggest that you work on this (learn how to use the doppler tool, or whatever it's called in your audio editor), from a better audio than this one of course.
    7. Source (starts at 2.25. Also, I used 2 samples from GT Legends for the downshifts) : Sound mod : Download : Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing TDU sound mod by Doctor G.zip Hope you like it!
    8. Now I feel less alone! I'm still wondering if it is an issue, or if it's a kind of effect that is set on the idling sounds to make them sound more complex that they are in reality...
    9. Diablo : you had the good idea, I just should have set a more specific title like this one sooner, even if I wasn't really looking for real beta testers, rather get short opinions from comments, but it's fine like this thanks. Kurgan : thank you for these observations, it is helpful (but I don't see what you mean about the transmission whine in the F40LM sound mod because there is none, it uses the Miura bnk which has no secondary effects). Urban : sorry I trashed this link, this sound had issues than are not fixable (mostly because the source is too poor, I realized that) so I gave up with it. Cimento : I gave up on that sound for the same reason, the source is also too poor to get something good, but if you want to send me your samples no problem, i'm curious to see what you managed to do !
    10. I thougt a dedicated thread like this one would have been more appropriated and I don't know if it would be very correct to make such requests on threads that are not mine. But however, if anyone is interested to try some old and fresh betas and then give 1 minute to write what he thinks about it in 2 lines, thanks to send me a PM. Cheers.
    11. Hmm... I posted 7 sounds so far and I have less feedback than threads concerning just ONE sound, maybe people don't like when there is no embedded video I don't know, but I'm not gonna post here anymore, remember a beta isn't something finished that you should be happy (or unhappy) with and that a minimum of feedback is necessary to give me some indications on what you like or dislike in it, and you don't have to speak a perfect english for that.
    12. Guys I really appreciate that you like my work, thanks for the support, but please this is not a place to make requests, there is a dedicated thread for that (http://forum.tdu-central.com/showthread.php?t=17142). And I cannot do any sound without a good source anyway, so if you want a specific sound find the good source by yourself and submit it in the thread (default vehicles only, don't ask for modded vehicles), thanks.

      1. A bit grainy, some few clicks here and there (couldn't succeed to remove them all) & the samples are barely stables but I've done the best I could from such a poor audio source. Source : http://www.dailymotion.pl/video/x2ybdg_lamborghini-murcielago-on-board_auto Sound mod : Download : http://www.mediafire.com/?dmljl757nt14sua As usual, feedback is appreciated.
