  1. Indeed, HC mode is one of the main reasons why I keep coming back to TDU. Vast improvement compared to the physics in normal mode. It would have been awesome had they used it as a basis for TDU2's handling, rather than coding an entirely new system, and a flawed one at that. Could have spent the extra programming time to refine the physics and eliminate some of the problems, like chronic understeer.
  2. I was tempted to take the game back for store credit. Figure I might as well wait and see what the modding community can do with the game. I won't touch it again unless there's a considerable overhaul of the handling system, at the very least. TDU1 in HC mode until then...
  3. Or Eden set the bar too low, based on similar driving games which are technically superior in almost every way to TDU2. That and my own personal opinion which, as I said, is entirely subjective. I honestly see nothing redeemable in the game, nothing that compels me to play it nor are there any hints that the game is going to improve with play. I'm not going to butter up my opinion and pretend the game is good when I personally think it's abhorrent, especially when I've dished out a decent amount of money for it.
  4. I can cope with subpar graphics so long as the underlying game is entertaining and fun to play. I still play games that are 10+ years old because I enjoy the core gameplay. With that in mind, I could excuse the lackluster graphics, poor sound, lack of ambient life on the island (no people on the streets, hardly any traffic), unrealistic police (NO option for traffic violations in a game that revolves entirely around racing high performance cars on PUBLIC ROADS), the list goes on, if only the handling system was engaging and fun to play with. Instead, it's almost as if the handling code was hastily slapped on as an afterthought once they finished adding all the extra features which are not core to the experience of driving cars.
  5. I'm starting to despise the game and I've only put about an hour and a half into it. I'm playing the PC version with a Logitech G27 wheel. Assist is set to Hardcore and yet the cars feel like they're running on rigid tracks. As far as I can tell, there's almost no difference to the assist modes because the underlying physics and handling code is hugely flawed. You've definitely got a problem when the previous game in your series has superior handling. Hardcore mode on TDU1, with all its flaws, blows TDU2's Hardcore out of the water. There's also no real sense of speed and that in itself is a huge problem. They should have taken a note from NFS Shift, which did a fantastic job of simulating what it's like to be in a vehicle that's moving at high speed. The car shaking, the driver's head movements as he is pulled to and fro, seemingly small things which, when done right, greatly enhance immersion. Such potential features have been ignored by TDU2's developers. In favor of what? Simulating the laughably unrealistic social lives of a bunch of plastic rich kids? Bah!
  6. Mhmm. So people are buying the game because they TOTALLY want to simulate a mid-20's, self adsorbed, trendy douchebag and NOT because 95% of the game content focuses on driving cars? News to me. My initial reaction, during the "party" intro to TDU2, was to madly hit keys to try and skip the horrible sequence. That's just me though. Subjective opinion : I would have preferred if they simply dropped the shallow attempts at modeling social BS in the game. The handling\physics and sound implementation in TDU2 is atrocious and I can't help but think that the game would have been far better had development time been focused solely on cars, police interaction and illegal street races rather than a weak storyline, horrid characters and social padding that simply bogs down the game.
  7. Just wanted to say thanks for this spectacular mod -- I purchased TDU yesterday solely after seeing a video of your GSXR on YouTube. I had to try it out for myself!
