Bringing Hawaii back is like comparing crew 1 and crew 2.
That was, in my opinion, the biggest mistake Ivory Tower made back then.
I hope KT Racing doesn't make the same mistake and brings us back a game that reminds us of a "TDU" after a very long time.

    I think it was cool.
    No jokes.

I think if TDU3 feature ALL the islands (not only Oahu) and make an more vivid and detailed map, then it won't be a problem.

Okinawa would actually be pretty sweet. Size wise, it's smaller than O'ahu but bigger than Ibiza. It would also bring a good mix of urban and nature. It's truly an amazing peace of paradise. Kyushu would be great also, but it's a damm big island!

Sadly though I don't think it would work with the whole TDU vibe myself as it doesn't have the pull or amour that Hawaii or Ibiza has. In the same way if I'm thinking of good driving roads, nice scenery, vibrant city life and 'The Highlife'...the French Riviera comes to mind rather than The Highlands of Scotland.

For now All we can do is guess. I mean who'd to say it's even going to be an island?

TDU:SC Director said that it's an island and it's tropicalistic.
    So?

I think Okinawa and Kyushu would work with the TDU Vibe. They are real richlands with tropicalistic flora, mainly composed by elite-class people.
Maybe French Riviera is an great place for TDU:SC. Specially if you consider that it's being developed in France. Altough they don't seem tropicalistic.
And i think there are some islands in England that could work too. Altough they also don't seem tropicalistic.

(edit, The Jackal's first post/rant above mine appears to have been removed, so my reply makes less sense now)

USA is overdone imo (NFS are well overdue to feature somewhere different) but I don't think Europe is overdone.  I guess most players just want to go somewhere they can't visit IRL (which right now is just about everywhere beyond the local shops for us in Melbourne, haha).

I'm pretty sure the majority of locations that could be selected have speed limits and slow drivers.  But I haven't visited too much of WA besides Kalgoorlie and Karatha.

Try using paragraphs next time - they're much easier to read than that wall of text  😄

    Europe is overdone indeed.
Altough i gotta admit, i want The Crew 3 in Europe. From Portugal to Russia preferably.

But doesn't Australia have small and mid-sized islands that are their territory?
IMO Australia deserves more attention in games in general.

Well, the only things i want in TDU3 are:
    *An serious handling and gameplay.
*Real Cops, that pursue you when you're over 150KM/h.
*And perhaps an "Hot Pursuit" gamemode, for when you want to race outside SC.

After Milli said there is no suitable island I belive this too.

Hawaii is cool and brings back memories. But I don't want to see Hawaii again in the new TDU.
I'm not completely against it but maybe later on as a map extension.

I want to see something new, something memorable so that you can remember the game later.

Bringing Hawaii back is like comparing crew 1 and crew 2.

I'd really would like to go to Asia (Specially Japan, but in an place like Kyushu or Okinawa for being more coast island style instead of Tokyo and surrounding areas) or Australia this time.

We've overexplored US and Europe in almost all game genres, so we REALLY need something different.

And i doubt they'll bring an Game like TDU3 for the Southern Hemisphere (save for Oceania).

Brazil seems to fit for Forza Horizon, Call of Duty/Battlefield, and Grand Theft Auto (or any OTHER similar open world action-adventure game, like Mafia), but virtually impossible for TDU3's Island and "Quality of Life" Concept.

Hopefully they learned from that. We dont need anymore big open world racers with shit handling.

What about the map and the Project Sunrise topic from the Reddit Forum now?
At the moment we still lack almost all information about the new TDU SC.
Once again we can only speculate.

I do not know Brazil and have never been there.
Is there an 1:1 island in Brazil that could be considered for this?

Or is this complete Project Sunrise now Bullshit?

    What do you think?

    Most likely this is BS.
I'll hit that it's Europe or Hawaii again.

  4. TDU2 seems harder to mod and hack than TDU1.
Specially because Eden Games (Actually Atari is to Blame) has encrypted all base files for modding.

And we need to look a bit around, but the modding community for TDU1 and 2 is not the same anymore, since many mods has been stolen, great mod creators retired, among other things..

And TDU1 and 2 DOES NOT have a modding community like GTA, post-2002 NFS and BeamNG has, which has script mods, vehicle mods, effects, ect almost every week.

TDU2 is cool, has a fancier world, has a better SP campaign (PS2/PSP TDU1 has the best SP Campaign in a racing game ever IMHO), but TDU1 is more customizable and less painful to edit assets, make mods, ect...

Also, I DOUBT someone has the guts to reverse engineer the code and stuff, specially because if they do, MOST LIKELY they'll be lawsuited by BOTH Atari (since they still own the assets and resources for TDU1 and 2) and BigBen Games (since they CURRENTLY own the IP).

And honestly, i wouldn't put hopes with more cars since no one posted a tutorial for add car slots to TDU2, and besides that, the dealership and customization system is much more different than in TDU1.

TDU2 has an multiplayer mode, but Atari has shut down.

  5. Hello Milli!

    Nice job you're doing!

    I'm from Brazil too.

But I would like to make a little question.

Is TDU Platinum going to be compatible with 2.00 Community Patch?

Also, is this pack going to be playable on Multiplayer?

Anyway, keep up the good work!

I would like to give some suggestions.

I think it would be nice to see Australian Cars, like the Ford XB Falcon and the Vauxhall Monaro VXR8 (HSV GTO, in Australia)

I also would like to see better traffic cars, something more realistic and less paperlike.

    Thank you!

    Good luck.
