FH3: Playseat Car Pack Been a bit of a wait for the first Tuesday of the month to arrive as this is when a new slice of car pack DLC for Forza Horizon 3 tends to drop, and with this February having a whole 7 days before a Tuesday rolls around it has felt like this latest pack has taken its time a little, but it hasn't, it's actually right on time. The new Forza Horizon 3 Car Playseat Car Pack is out now and contains a collection of seven new vehicles, including the brand new Aston Martin DB11... aaaaaand a Vauxhall Corsa. A bit disappointing in a way this latest release in my opinion, considering what we saw being leaked with the whole unencrypted developer version mistake at the start of this year, but hey it’s a new car pack, and there will be players out there who will very much be feeling it. Forza Horizon 3 PC Update Fix It is most definitely not the best way to start a new year off by putting a developer version of your game up for download, instead of just an update. But that’s what happened with Forza Horizon 3 on PC. Many players found it strange that they were apparently having to download the entire game again as their screens were showing 50GB+ being retrieved. This was because, instead of accessing what should have been an update to enable the 'Rockstar Energy Car Pack' DLC and a brand new Barn Find, it turned out that the download was in fact a version of the game that should not have been available at all. And through curious Georges and others not called George, we have been treated to discoveries and info about the potential content that could be making its way to the incredible open-world racer in future. A downside of all this though was that this version caused issues with save games used by the normal retail version. Even so far as to causing them to corrupt! Then there was the whole not being able to use the new content that people had bought, and so the download was pulled, messages were posted about the team being aware, and a fix was promised. Days passed and people were getting annoyed with the silence and lack of anything seeming to happen, turning in their frustration to social media to vent and demand some answers, but generally the same response along the lines of 'we're working on it' was all that was given. However as with everything, time is a healer and today the fix is out and the new content of the ‘Rockstar Energy Car Pack’ can be fully enjoyed by those on PC… albeit three days later. The latest version of the Forza Horizon 3 PC update is now available. This version (126.96.36.199) includes the Rockstar Energy Car Pack content. Apologies to all our PC players who were eagerly awaiting this update and thank you for your continued patience. – Brian Ekberg, Forza Community Manager Note that those who downloaded the developer copy will likely need to download the entire game again in order to make use of the fix, and unfortunately there is no guarantee as to the working of the save file if used with it.
Happy New Rockstar Energy Car Pack! The first Forza Horizon 3 DLC of 2017 is out and available now and as was revealed in December the BMW i8 hybrid heads up the new seven vehicles that come with it. Called the ‘Rockstar Energy Car Pack’, this latest selection consists of as you would imagine some of those that are related to the extremes that the company takes part in and is known for. Forza Horizon 3 – Rockstar Energy Car Pack 2015 BMW i8 2014 Ford #11 Rockstar Energy Trophy Truck 1987 Nissan Skyline GTS-R (R31) 1972 Ford Falcon XA GT-HO 2015 Radical RXC Turbo 2015 Volvo V60 Polestar 2016 Bentley Bentayga Best example of this is the covered in Rockstar Energy Drink branding Ford F150 Trophy Truck, which took a resounding win at the Baja 1000. This behemoth will have no troubles tackling any and all terrain that the game’s environment can throw at it… except for the deep ocean water maybe. https://youtu.be/Zfqdpr8UYpo Making its first gaming appearance in production form, the BMW i8 Hybrid sports car has been wanted by the official Forza forums community for a while now. Quite a stunner in the looks department, it was good to see the i8 actually being built instead of turning out to be some flashy design exercise that tends to happen with cars like this. Accompanying those mentioned above there is another Japanese legend of the Nissan Skyline GTS-R (R31), a closed-roof Radical RXC Turbo which is at home tearing up the road as it is on the track, local hero Aussie muscle Ford Falcon XA GT-HO, a speedy Volvo estate/wagon which would make an excellent Taxi or allow players to pretend to do the weekly shop, and finally, the upper-class SUV – because these things sell for some reason – Bentley Bentayga. Police to Meet You The roads of Australia are about to get even more chaotic, exotic and perhaps even more respectful with the release of 'The Smoking Tire Car Pack' for Forza Horizon 3. Featuring what we would call a quite fantastic selection of seven new-to-Forza vehicles, this first main DLC pack for the game is going to be a popular one. Within its line up are hypercars, supercars, sportscars, a wily off-roader and even the de facto Police cruiser – complete with optional light bar and siren! https://youtu.be/64srpn7V4BU Whoever is collating these lists of cars for release and inclusion keep at it as you are SMASHING IT!! Starting with the Aston Martin ‘Vulcan’ the auto-makers entry into the continually growing hypercar market you may be expecting something with pointy ears and a logical way of working. Well it does look kind of alien-like but in fact this Vulcan is in homage to the British bomber aircraft of the same name. [caption id=attachment_5576" align="alignnone" width="800] 2016 Aston Martin Vulcan in Forza Horizon 3[/caption] Only 24 of these track-only (boo!) vehicles will be built and if you watched the episode of Top Gear where Chris Harris drove the nuts off one, you will know that its 800 hp V12 screams ferociously. Next up is the lightweight tarmac rocket of the Lotus 340R and you just know from the pedigree of the brand that this car will eat up turns and stick to the tarmac like a super-glued frog to a bus. (huh?) If the Vulcan is out of your price range but you still want something that will blow your mind on the track then this is one of the best vehicles out there to scratch that itch. [caption id=attachment_5581" align="alignnone" width="800] 2000 Lotus 340R in Forza Horizon 3[/caption] Looking more like the legendary Zonda with every new iteration that comes, the Pagani Huayra BC is now looking like it should have done from day one (imo). It’s shape and looks have always been a bit of a love or hate thing and its sound is a far cry off from the ear-pleasing stabbing that the Zonda produced. Nonetheless the BC named after Benny Caiola (I hate Bennys because of Carlito’s Way) who was one of the first customers of Pagani and close friend of Horatio (YEEEEEAAAAHHHHHHH! not that one) will see only 20 models produced. [caption id=attachment_5582" align="alignnone" width="800] 2016 Pagani Huayra BC in Forza Horizon 3[/caption] With all those racing around at high-speed and with no regard for the inhabitants of the virtual lands it seems only right that some Johnny Law makes an appearance. Whether players choose to go unmarked or all out in full police branding, the choice is theirs as brilliantly Playground Games have provided an optional bumper, light bar and siren for players to live out there nofunallowed.jpg fantasies! [caption id=attachment_5578" align="alignnone" width="800] 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor in Forza Horizon 3[/caption] GTA Spano, no it’s not the title of the next Grand Theft Auto but instead a Spanish automaker who decided to create their own supercar and with a top speed of 230mph it looks like they did a decent job. With looks that are different enough not to be called out as copying from others but with typical lines that you will find in other makes, the Spano is making quite the entrance. [caption id=attachment_5579" align="alignnone" width="800] 2016 GTA Spano in Forza Horizon 3[/caption] The ‘Ultimate Driving Machine’ is the tagline of BMW and rightly so as they are brilliant drivers. Well the cars and their handling are not so much those sitting behind the wheel. Reviews for the M2 Coupe are very positive, in fact the M2 gets compared to the original E30 M3 and when you see them together you will know why. Piloting this thing through the roads, fields and in the air should be a lot of fun. [caption id=attachment_5577" align="alignnone" width="800] 2016 BMW M2 Coupé in Forza Horizon 3[/caption] With all that openness that is available it makes perfect sense to have a dedicated off-roader that can climb the steep inclines, tackle the uneven terrain and speed across the sandy beaches and the Jeep CJ5 Renegade is here to make that happen. With customisation this could turn out to be a real gem for everything you wish to do off the tarmac.
