Yeah it was, don't you remember how the idea popped into my head baldy? It was very specific and relative to the idea itself, the idea came about by the almighty .........look at my GPS in the Mercedes CLS55 AMG. Don't ask! My mind would confuse even the brainiest of people.

Right this is something I came up with early this morning while messing around with a group of regs and new people. What if there was the normal freeroam mode where you can speed and do crazy things all you like and then there was another freeroam mode called something like Police Stop. Now what I mean by this is it is still freeroam but instead in this mode you can choose to be either a normal car driver or a police officer. It works in the same principle as normal freeroam apart from you make your money by catching other players who are breaking the law be it speeding, driving on the wrong side or such like. The police get a radar/speedtrap and sit in a layby or whatnot and when a speeder goes by the game will snap that player (photo) going by and then the chase begins, now here is where it gets interesting, depending on the session you're in you might be the only cop in their or if you're really unlucky and you're the speeder you may well have 5 or 6 cops on you and the cops can interact and communicate with each other to ask for help in catching you. Now the reason I say make 2 mode's in freeroam is of course some people just like to thrash about at 200mph all the time and getting stopped or chased all the time might not be their cup of tea hence the options of either or. The photo taken is so that should you stop that player the game will show the photo of them speeding which will save in their profile and on yours also as a reminder of who you have stopped or been stopped by. Another multiplayer game that I thought of also was Getaway. Now you know how much I want passenger cam in this game so it sort of goes along with that. Basically you have 1 cop per 3 people and these 3 people are in the 1 car hence passenger cam. You have the driver, navigator and someone else who could maybe be a spotter in the back. Now the objective is to get you and your buddies to a point that is set by the players not preset so you can do a long jaunt or a short sprint, it's upto you entirely, the cops objective is to stop you and as I was saying 1 cop per 3 runners could mean if it stays at 8 in a session, 2 cops chasing 2 runners with 3 people in each. Going back to the first suggestion this would be a way to get round the strict rules for the singleplayer where the majority want the police to be more real and active by chasing you should you do certain things ala Driver series. Just imagine though speeding through then all of a sudden you hear a siren behind you and you have to lose the pursuing cop by a big distance but because the cops are a team, you might be running from real people for who knows how long. Just an idea and yes I know I go on about passenger cam too much. lol

Week #24. CarboyZR1(2) :: Carboy makes not 1 but 2 durrr moments this week and the first one happened only 38 mins into the new week! In Speedtouch's thread (who just avoided being Nugget last week) about the crashed Aston Martin DBS which he originally linked to as a DB9 and he thought noone noticed, but uh no not here as I spotted it and quoted it to Speedtouch's dismay, but, you see Carboy never caught this and thought I was the one who was wrong as he tried to pull me up for it *eeh aww*. To really clinch it though, in the same thread he posts some of the infamous cars that have been on Bond including the Lotus that everyone knows and loves, the Elise! Well ...yeah, you know. :oook: :twisted: You mean this? :DCue Carboy!! Nice one Carboy, you're up for the next week and it was only 38mins into it. :DAnd just to seal the deal, Carboy shows us his Bond knowledge. But he also drove DBS, Z8, Elise, etc. Bravo ! :excited:

Unfortunately I never made it on till about 9:40PM and it looked like I had not long missed the end of it. :( Sorry guys but those I drove with during that time it was great fun !

Hey Speed what font is that you've used for the TDU Central writing? That looks like a typeface I was playing with last year for the logo/text but I lost it. It looks like Xenotron but it's more fluid.

Not 3 million people, we're not amazon or ign. lol, We're relatively small but still 3m hits is an excellent achievement.

Don't worry mate, for what we're paying (gulp!) we can handle that comfortably. It's the database server that I'm most concerned about as the more popular we get means the more people visiting and thus it puts more stress on the database server. In fact since we started we've upgraded our package twice.

My brother just sent me this via email asking me what it was, this was the only decent pic he got of it.

I can't go too much into the Google thing but you can't go nuts and click all the time, single figures is where it should be.

Hey guys, just checking the stats for this month so far and it appears we have done our best ever, with this month, in fact it's not even the end of the month and already we are on course to smash February by 1,000,000 plus hits!! SO A HUGE THANKS to all members, lurkers and whoever else checks us out, it's great to know that even so long after this game has been out the community and admiration for TDU is still so very strong. Again, thanks very much for making us the place you visit and participate and let's hope that it continues and that we can grow and become one of the best known resources on the web and not just for TDU, but for the fact that we are a real community, and not just a large number of individuals. Cheers guys, you make the blood, sweat and occasional tears worth it ....just! ;) :D

I've been looking at integrating vimeo but was waiting to see just how exactly much it is being used but it seems it's popularity is growing very quickly from what I've seen around all manners of forums.

Seriously I am always amazed with the amount of comments or jump in views even today that appears on my youtube account. I even have people contacting me to put the "Gallardo Coastal Ride" video backup as the person who originally uploaded it for me has closed their account and that thing was nearing 400,000 views itself about 8 months ago ! I also noticed some other person has put the VW Golf R32 video I did as a request up and that's got 100,000+ views also. It's crazy to see these figures for something you have done. Current account stats including video views on youtube excluding the videos I mentioned above are in the attachment below. I'm just glad people watch them to be honest. lol
