  1. Okay, I have a basic version here, but - since all of my mods are hosted on GeoCities - I will need some better hosting soon, so this link is temporary. I will probably get a FileFront account some time soon. Sorry, no preview video. :(
  2. Um, as far as I can tell, those are just clips of guys talking. I don't think those are good sources unless you want your car to sound like total lulz. :P
  3. Yeah, okay, I know, it's taken me several days to even give any kind of heads up about any progress I have made - I have been busy with a few other things, but I will work on this when I find time. I need some good samples first, so this one may take me quite a while. Sorry for the delay. :)
  4. Alright, I know, it's taken me several days to even give any kind of progress statement - I have been busy with a few other things, but I will work on this when I find time. Conveniently, I have some time right now so I will be working on this. Sorry for the delay. :)
  5. I have no samples that sound like that >_> This is gonna take me a while... (and no, I can't rip it directly from the video - I just needed that so I knew what I was supposed to be going for)
  6. There is no way that it's that simple. Believe me, if it were that simple, I'd have made a lot more mods by now and they'd all sound way better >_> You need to get a sample with a continuous pitch and volume, which is difficult when the engine is revving quickly (or even accelerating slowly). The car basically needs to be on a dyno (which is bad because of the whirring) or at a standstill, holding a constant RPM - and very few videos are like that.
  7. Actually, I think the problem is that you used the 3% savegame instead of the 100% savegame (which is no longer available) - at 100%, concepts are free, while the savegame currently given out only has the 3 online races done.
  8. No problem SLRRR, I would have missed 12:00 anyway :o (started doing other stuff, forgot about it until now) try here
  9. 12 noon eh? (My time zone is GMT-7.) I'll be on, then :) How many will you have available? I'm only going to buy 1 of each of the VWs and one Mustang GTR, but I don't want to keep anyone else on trade from buying them.
  10. Are you sure? I though it was just the internet games connected to the main server that didn't work because of how the server is run.
  11. You don't need super-long sounds, you just need to make sure that they loop more seamlessly. Experiment with cropping them at different beginning and ending points until the click disappears. It will take a while; for the best results, zoom in on the sound-wave view and look for two very similar-looking waves, and make the cut right in the same spot on each wave (beginning and end). This has worked well enough for me, even though there's no real "scientific basis" for it. Of course, if your sound doesn't loop at all (if your sound changes in pitch, loudness or timbre noticeably between the start and finish), then this won't help.
  12. If I can find some source files for this, I'll start working on a sound mod. :D
  13. I'd like to see if I could help you with this. I have done some sound modding before, and if I can get a decent source for the sounds, I can make a sound-mod for you. Two things: which car do you want it to be based on (not how it sounds, but which file should I use as a base), and do you have any reference videos for how you want it to sound?
  14. Do you have a link to that? I have used the search function but I haven't been able to find it. EDIT: Nevermind, found it: http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=667698 EDIT 2: Darn it, I'd still have to buy everything back... :( Is anyone interested in doing Hamachi LAN with me, then?
  15. When you have time, I would like to place an order for both the VW concepts and the Mustang GTR. I can provide up to $250K for each, or more, but no more than $2M each (I ain't that rich :D ). Color doesn't matter (if it's selectable anyway - if interior color is selectable, make the interior black or red), but if you can keep the mileage at 0, that would be great. PM me when you come online, with a time that you can sell them to me at.
  16. You have a "no-install RAR version" and you are downloading a version with an install? Um... do you have a legal CD copy? :oook: If you don't, don't even bother trying to play online - it's unlikely to work. If you indeed have a CD copy, remove the files from the RAR, install from the CD, then install the patch, and you should be fine. :D EDIT: Do you have Atari's legal digital download version instead of a CD version (and instead of a pirated copy)? If so, that version has been pretty buggy - contact information and help from the distributor of the digital download version is available here
  17. Hey everyone, this is RedCarDriver from NFSUnlimited (I'm Harrison15 in TDU). Some of you may know me from elsewhere; I have been playing TDU for a pretty long time and I have been reading this forum for a while now. As my name says, most of my cars are painted red, but the Skyline R34 I drive around sometimes is Bayside Blue, however cliche'd that may be. My main cars are a Ferrari F40, a Noble M400 and a McLaren F1, see if you can find me online (I'm on PC). In addition, I have done some sound-modding before; this is my sound-mod page, and I think Djey posted a link to it before.
