  1. That's the same I thought when I saw the pics. Maybe how the roof gets ticker from the windows as it goes further back, but that already starts in the roof itself. Usually it's only the C-pillars. I also think a flatter roof like the A5 might have worked a bit better:

I wondered if this would compete with BMW's and the SLS/AMG-GT3's in races like the ADAC 24h, but according to Lexus we're not going to see it here:

In the U.S., the vehicle will compete in the GTD category of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series under 3GT Racing, and in Japan, it will compete in the GT300 class of the SUPER GT series under LMcorsa.

EDIT: not so much actual confirmed news yet, but it seems Mini (and therefor the Dutch VDL factory that builds them) are trying to get awarded the build of new police vehicles for the Dutch police. They are looking to replacing a large part of the fleet including a bunch of VW Tourans. If awarded, around 2300 units will be built and they should look a bit like this:

EDIT 2: well this was a bit unexpected: the G-Class seems to be getting the massive digital cockpit from the E.

  2. Mercedes-AMG announced the actual name of the upcoming hypercar. R50 turns out to be the internal codename while Project One seems to be the real name of the thing. Weird... I'd expect the other way around, and R50 as code only fits in the current system of Mercedes on the list of optional equipment.

    And here's more Kia:

  3. I saw it on Autoblog.nl, they got the numbers from Reuters (some international press agency). I got the exact smart and AMG numbers from the investor relations summary which is online as a PDF. The other brands is a combination of the same Reuters article, the dutch Autoblog article and Volvo's numbers by googling.

  4. Never thought about it but the black targa bar really is a great addition!

Ofcourse around the year change, there are numbers of the previous years, and comparisons with the years before that. According to Reuters, after 11 years Mercedes has 'finally' overtaken BMW and is the largest premium car builder. According to CEO Zetsche, it's a reward made possible by leaving behind a period of lacking design, deficits and cost- and quality issues. And it's a reward 4 years ahead of schedule; the goal to be the largest was originally set for 2020.

    Some numbers:

    Mercedes 2016 sales: 2.083.888

    Compared to 2015: +11,3%

    AMG 2016 sales: 99.235

    Compared to 2015: +44,1%

    Smart 2016 sales: 144.479

    Compared to 2015: +21%

    BMW 2016 sales: 2.003.359

    Compared to 2015: +5,2%

    Audi 2016 sales: 1.871.350

    Compared to 2015: +3,7%

    Jaguar 2016 sales: 148.730

    Compared to 2015: +77%!

    Land Rover 2016 sales: 434.582

    Compared to 2015: +8%

    Volvo 2016 sales: 534.332

    Compared to 2015: +6,2% (XC90 +125%!)

  5. Soon to be available: the RWD Kia Stinger GT :D

Not known exactly when, but it will debute in Detroit and as said has a front-engine rear-wheel-drive layout. It measures 4,8 meters long and 1,87 meters wide and it has 2,9 meters wheelbase (larger than a CLS). Alongside the RWD version with mechanical limited slip differential, there will also be an AWD version with Dynamic Torque Vectoring control. Both drivetrains are available for both of the engine versions: a 2,0-liter 4-cylinder with 255 hp and 352 Nm of torque, and the GT's biturbo 3,3-liter V6 with 365 hp and 510 Nm of torque. Both engines are linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The GT should be able to hit 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and have a top speed of 269 km/h. Base version stands on 225/45 R18 all-around while the GT has 245/40 R19 on the front and 255/35 R19 at the rear.

In terms of equipment, the car will be available with a 15-speaker Harman/Kardon soundsystem and electronically adjustable suspension with 5 modes.

So far, it has been announced as a Kia Motors America debute for 2018 with the first units being delivered late '17. Pricing not yet known.

  6. Just a little heads-up, after I already wasted my time on this:

There's a new Forzathon going on (just a day or so remaining I think), and I read a lot of people are having issues with especially the 15 races completion to win a Subaru rally car. The achievement for having completed the task appears, but the car isn't added to the garage.

Just so you know, if this happens to you too, it's just a common bug. The devs have announced they won't fix it and instead will offer an other chance to win that car in a later Forzathon sometime someday.

  7. That gives me an idea: get more obsessed with wheel dishes. I started this topic, I can write about wheel dishes all darn day. *wonders who sees the reference*

On a serious note though, the January Carpack (or Rockstar Energy pack...) is finally out for PC. It's a 1,57 GB update and should bump your game version to 1.0.39.2

EDIT: can confirm, they haven't uploaded the wrong data this time :)
