You have a radio mod and the song files are very large and the game struggles with decoding them fast enough.
There is an issue with either your core game install or your Platinum install that isn't quite bad enough to cause a crash.

These are just guesses from experience, so mileage may vary here. With the 4gb exes the only freezes I get are a very momentary one when I leave a house for the first time in a session, when a large number of players enter my session at once, and right before the game eats glue and CTDs. (It happens sometimes)

I do have a radio mod installed since it's bundled with the Platinum mod.
I have an i5 6600k overclocked to 4.6 ghz and 16GB of RAM. If that's not enough, that's some bad optimization.

I have. Also deleted my old profile and started anew, no dice. The freezes seem to happen most often when radio activates/changes stations/tracks/does anything.

I get constant 1-second freezes everywhere, anyone knows how to fix it? It didn't happen until I bought the Honda NSX and started trying the Car Control time trial...
