How to get Media Center to work!
1. Stop the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service
a. Go to "Start"
b. Click "Run"
c. Type "services.msc" and a box will pop up
d. Scroll down to "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service".
e. Double Click the service to bring up it's properties and click on "Stop".
f. Leave this screen open
2. Allow your computer to show hidden and operating system files.
a. Go to "Start"
b. Click "Run"
c. Type " C: "
d. After the "C:" drive is opened, click on "Tools" on the toolbar.
e. Scroll down and select folder options.
f. Click on the view tab.
g. Scroll down to "Hidden Files and Folders" and make sure "SHOW Hidden files and folders" is selected.
h. Scroll down to "Hide Protected operating system files" and make sure it is NOT checked
i. Select "OK" if any pop up boxes appear.
j. Select "OK" to close the "Folder Options" folder.
3. Delete the DRM Folder
a. Open your "C:" drive
b. Double-Click the "Documents and Settings" folder.
c. Double-Click the "All Users" folder.
d. Double-Click the "DRM" Folder. (If this folder does not appear repeat step 2 above.)
e. Select all folders and files in this folder and delete them. (If they do not delete, you didn't stop the "Windows Media Network Sharing Service" correctly and you need to retry Step 1.
4. Restart the "Windows Media Network Sharing Service"
a. Go to "Start"
b. Go to "Run"
c. Type "services.msc"
d. Scroll down to "Windows Media Network Sharing Service" and highlight the item (do not doubleclick it).
e. Once you highlight the item, it will give you the option to "Start the Service". Click on the word "Start".
5. Connect with WMP 11
a. Start Windows Media Player 11
b. CLick on Libary, scroll to "Media Sharing" and go through the process to make sure your Xbox is still seen by your PC and is still "allowed".
6. Sync with your Xbox 360
a. Start your Xbox.
b. Go to the system tab
c. Select Computers and DESELECT any pc's that currently show up. If no PCs show up, then no problem.
d. Go to the Media tab, select Music Select, Select "Computer", and select "find PC"
e. Cross your fingers! and good luck. Hopefully your Xbox Finds your PC now.
