  1. It's a tough one really, I do like long / in depth youtube videos, but I think it's a big ask to get viewers interested enough to invest 40 mins of their time on a car that was released a while ago. When the channel is big enough I hope he manages to get press cars soon after they're released and still be able to keep his brutal honesty :)

  2. What do you guys think of this - are you genuinely excited/intrigued/mildly interested or do you think it's just marketing hype?

As interesting as it is I imagine it is just marketing hype, the effort put in will only result in a rather small different experience for the player.

That said, it's always good to see the behind the scenes clips and it will make people confident their money is being spent well :)

  3. Why is it when you have a negative opinion on something someone always has to come along and tell you "you don't have to buy it". :fp:

Stop being so 'salty' Scott, jeez.

I can't say the hotwheels expansion pack interests me much, even when I was young I enjoyed collecting hundreds of hotwheels cars but the tracks and accessories never interested me at all.

  4. My main issue with the episode was that I was hoping the second Cuba segment to include them modifying their cars to try and beat the Cuban cars in a straight line, that would be what the Old TopGear trio would have done in that situation imo and I think it would have made better TV.

It whole idea seemed a bit half arsed, they should have made it an hour long special, involved LeBlanc and had him choose a car, and give them challenges which show them bonding with their cars and then modifying them.

Hammond still owns Oliver, his Opel Kadett from the Botswana special, it would be nice to see such a bond being developed by the new trio and their cars.

  5. Sounds more like it's competing with the Audi S3/Golf R, except that it's slower and costs more.

I'd rather arrive at my destination slower and with less spare change in that 4 pot F-Type, than in the S3 or Golf R tbh. A 718S might entice me away from the Jaguar dealership but it might have to be a nearly new 718S as the options list will put the Porsche in the V6S and V8R F-Type price range very very quickly.

I do like the S3 and Golf R, I like them a lot, but they're very very popular around where I live and even if they weren't, most non car fans wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them and an A3/Golf 2.0 TDI

  6. Y'all are more than welcome to debate these kind of things on TDUCK as long as you do it in a respectful and less antagonistic way, telling people they're embarrassing themselves or that they have undiagnosed issues is only going to start an argument and force me to waste my time intervening.

If someone can tell me that this 'debate' has some relevance to 'Test Drive Unlimited Ultra Community Pack v1.04' then go ahead and debate it in a more friendly manner, but if it's irrelevant please take it to a new thread or end it here.

    Thanks :duck:

  7. Button's also gossiped... which would be almost a 'fun' as Massa's return.

I can't see n Indy driver being up to speed in time though...

Yeah Button is technically McLaren's reserve driver so he's the most likely to get the seat, considering he resides in Monte Carlo it's not the biggest inconvenience for him to take part is it? How much would he want to do it though? Yes, it's like a home GP for him but when you take into account how unlikely it is for him to actually finish the race due to the piece of junk he'll be driving, I can't imagine he is very eager to jump behind the wheel.

Alonso is very unhappy at McLaren Honda at the moment, a lot of people are questioning whether this Indy 500 jump is a sign he'll be leaving the sport before the end of the year, and I'm not sure i'd rule it out.

  8. I was just reading that we might end up seeing an Indy driver in Alonso's seat for the Monaco GP, that would be quite interesting to see and would generate interest from both sides of the pond.

I think there's a test day in Bahrain sometime next week, so we might be seeing whoever they intend to replace Alonso with for the race sat in a McLaren during that test.

  9. Jag have put a 4-cylinder engine in the F-Type:

Quite liking that Murcielago-esque exhaust pipe.

    - It now costs £49,900, so it's trying to slot in between the Porsche 718 and the 718 S.

    - 295bhp, 0-60 in 5.4 seconds (almost a second slower than the 718 S, half a second behind the 718).

Also worth considering more common/dull cars such as the new E-Class Coupé as a competitor for this at this price range, and I'd rather have the Jag tbh.
