r8 :confused: i've watched the trailer again and i'm still confused by the above two posts mentioning an 'r8' in it...

even if it's a lump of chevy ssr proportions i would still prefer to access it when where and however i like... here's hoping we are just getting the wrong end of the stick or that it at least balances out in some way...

play.com have changed their tdu2 artwork and have the game set at a release date of 24/09/10 :) some might remember i guessed that day a while back :P with amazon in the u.s. having the release date as 21/09/10 (the usual tuesday release slot for america) this seems a fairly sound bet

i have both :) no anger here lol i do think sony could do a better job marketing the machine and the games are part of the shortcomings. the pros and cons wasn't sposed to pit the ps3 directly against the competition though and was rather sposed to be a discussion purely about ps3. it is the ps3 (and psp) section after all. the compatibility between psp and ps3 btw reminds me of the dreamcasts memory units XD

'get hold of'? like you can take it to your home and keep? here's the real problem i have with it - if i'm in a race lobby with a bunch of usual racers and the host whips out a gumpert the rest of the players usually want (if not outright expected) to match it - down to the tuning level if possible. if the car isn't available because it hasn't been bought by the club or some plonker is off freeriding or parking at ford island with it then it's gonna be a severely grumpy atmosphere. likewise if i'm racing with it and someone wants to plonk it in a prime show off spot in freeride... the game will be great but so far this issue is something in the negative collumn... players should be able to have access to every car they have purchased at all times...

in regards to making it available i have it downloaded without being a member. i could tinypic it and put the url here if it helps? i'm not that versed in the most crafty ways of doing these things...

probably overlay at this point - happened as late as in game video for the 1st game... new trailer is nice but is really just more of the same. i'm wondering if the dancing will be an in game option for your avatar or rather if it's just part of some sort of cut scene...

yup sounds as though a large amount of people are gonna be regularly missing out on driving some of the nicest cars in the game because of how it sounds like the club system is being arranged. if you have to have say ten people to access the gumpert and twm steals it all the time it's just gonna make you want to leave assuming his quick witt and charm isn't enough to pursuade otherwise ;)

by that point very few players are likely to want to stay in anyone elses club... ever... but if they're not being deprived of anything the reasons for joining my club must lie elsewhere ;)

in tdu1 fizzclub2000 still currently has 14 members even without the prospect of a club car. how many are in slowclass? :P

i don't like that the situation is looking like: 'here's 5 cars but you can only have one of them and only drive it some of the time' :( hope it doesn't work out this way though...

on the subject of players on both machines - there are some good people on both i'd imagine and maybe even a few on my freinds lists but both machines are still full of players that quit at the hint of losing a match. of all the games i've had or seen on both machines they have thusfar always looked better on 360. those being 'grid' 'gta4' 'sf4' 'soulcalibur4' 'tekken6' and 'nfs:u' a friend of mine actually has the 360's hd dvd player though - he nabbed it cheap when the plug was pulled on hd dvd :)

i like the ps3 controller and 360 controller for different reasons - i feel much more comfortable playing tekken with the ps3 controller but sf4 with the 360 controller for some reason. the analogue triggers on 360 feel better also imo... i find the layout on ps3 to be a bit stale... that's just me though i guess... for dvd's i don't see anything in it between my upscaling hdmi using dvd player - as far as picture goes at least. i've not dvd'd my ps3 enough to notice the layer transitions... my ps3 has needed repairing which surprised me considering how little i use it... £99 a pop from sony on that one :/
