  1. I'd obviously love the instant replay (TDU1 was supposed to have it enabled if you dig around the files on your HDD, there's a recorded tutorial WAV file describing it). Besides having a (30-60 second IR available (with choice of multiple camera views to use with Fraps or the like), you should be able to hit a Record Now button, which records everything from that point forward until you hit stop. Then you can choose your custom replay views.

It doesn't need a full on editor or recorder, that's what FRAPS and Sony Vegas Pro (or whatever software you use) does best.

Just make sure we can hide the HUD on all the various replays and other scenes.

  2. Why don't we add the Great Wall dealership as well while we're at it??? :)

(Chinese car company that recently started exporting to Australia).

Sure, TDU2 needs a Saturn Sky replacement, which is why I said yes for the Sandero (+ TG references), but I'd rather have good slow cars if possible rather than Cheap'n'Cheerful ones ;)

  3. A new version of O'ahu could be a DLC option for a legacy option available to those who want it. Then they could uninstall TDU1 if they wanted (or just keep the Snow or Alpine or Tropical or HD version with their favourite mods).

How to transition? You could either just have a little arrow button on the map screen that points in the direction of the other island to take you to it's map screen.

You could use a plane or helicopter. If they did, it would be cool if it started off with a cutscene, but then for a small aircraft it gives you the controls just as you near the island (you then just have to worry about landing the aircraft) at your choice of runway.

Since most of us don't fly with a G25, you could use a simple mouse guidance setup, where you steer with the mouse and use a few keyboard controls. Yes it's over the top, but it would be cool and I wouldn't have to launch FSX so often.

  4. Press WinKey+D

Right-click your Desktop, and choose NVIDIA Control Panel

Click the Manage 3D Settings link on the left side

    Click the Program Settings tab

Find or add the TDU exe file to the drop-down list and select it

    Change the settings below

REMEMBER - you need to scroll down and find & click the Apply button, otherwise nothing changes.

Do not change too many things at the same time, otherwise your FPS will drop significantly and you won't know which setting caused it. Start off with Anti-Aliasing, Anistropic filtering, and set the AA Transparency to SuperSampling if you have a good graphics card and PC setup. Test at 8x, if things are ok, try at 16x, then if you want you can try at 32x if you have a very fast PC.

  5. Leadfoot isn't filming his own car - he just goes to bumper view (as explained), turns off the HUD, and tells the stunt drivers to...

    ...overtake

    ...drift

    ...etc

while he films while driving or parked from the side of a road. Check out the link in my sig for more videos.

  6. When I read the stuff about wrecks, my thoughts were similar to unlocking the liveries in FUEL by finding cars that were hidden offroad. Then I thought of this concept screenshot:

    pic-1895.jpg

Obviously that looks nothing like the pics of Ibiza already showcased, but it may shed light on the hidden wrecks scenario. Eden want us to go offroad in SUVs, so that we forget about the smaller area.

On the European forums, we once did an offroad race, from the NE lighthouse to the SW one, was great fun, and it took about an hour or two (in Audi RS4's and Lamborghini's). I went in a Koenigsegg since I figured the extra power would negate the need for 4WD if I could keep my speed up and not get stuck.

  7. Maybe not so much a club that you have to 'join', but a building that you can only gain access to if you are driving the correct vehicle (i.e. a Ferrari, or a Lotus, or whatever). Once in the building you can see a timetable for scheduled cruises, track days, rally stages, etc). The game is supposed to be more 'social' this time, so the idea would be pretty good instead of just looking at a filtered map screen.

If they could pull off mapping the social features of the game to their forum, that would be even better.

  8. +1 to the above music comments. Personally I wouldn't care too much if TDU2 came with no music, but if it did, take a leaf out of the book of the old NFS games. I have all the music extracted to MP3 files from NFS2SE through to NFS Shift and besides the Undercover soundtrack, the majority of the great music comes from the old games. That's why I use those tracks in a number of the movies I make.

That said, the 'interactive' pursuit music in NFS MW was pretty cool as well.

  9. Hehe, I've been playing NFS4 recently (with NFS 1 & 2 tracks modded in). The first and only game mode I've done in the game for the past few weeks was Hot Pursuit, more often me being the pursuer.

    +1 for Shift physics

Like TDU1, I'm happy to have 2 sets of physics available, just as long as you implement these two changes:

1 - Allow the selection of the harder physcis mode right from the start of them game, so that the single player mode isn't so boring.

2 - In the map screen, add a filter so that we can see where all the drivers are of a certain physics mode. Maybe make it so that H mode drivers can filter to show either H mode or noob mode drivers, but noob mode drivers can only see other noob mode drivers (except for people on their friends list). This could help prevent n00bs crashing into people who take their driving seriously.

  10. Well so far Windows 7 is the only thing I've ever legally purchased from Microsoft. Maybe I'll get a new Windows phone later this year. But if I'm going to get a 360, they have to add support for the G25 so that I can use it with Forza 3. Otherwise I'll be left waiting for GT5, TDU2, whatever NFS game comes out (being built by Criterion Games), and whatever Codies release next.

  11. So we're back to the concepts having the island enlarged (either in scale or just bits added to the north coast perhaps), or having multiple islands, be it O'ahu, or the nearby Spanish islands, or both.

]What about other games (not installed on the [COUGH]overpriced[/COUGH] HDD)?

You can't go too hard on 360 owners. On April 6 MS is letting them use USB flash or hard drives up to 16GB each to store stuff. I was reading the comments posted at the bottom of the article, laughing at how they defended their choice of console, yet 50% of them didn't know what the announcement meant for them. :D
