Are you sure they didn't make that Race On trailer using Race 07? I didn't see any US Muscle cars. Hopefully this can also be released in addon form/upgrade for less $$
-
Great skills and pics Kelvyj.
What sort of PC specs do you have? I only ask as I wouldn't mind knowing how good the graphics of that game are with a high spec machine. I tried a demo of it a year ago but never considered upgrading. I have GTR Evo so I'm not sure if it's worth buying another sim game.
-
yeah - i bought the other addon cars with the expectation that all packs would be on PC. I've already got the game on PS3 but I'm not buying Cops n Robbers for it. It should let me have all the other cars on the PS3 since I've purchased them for PC.

I'll summarise who's doing what in this post. I'll list the cars that probably can't be filmed as well, just in case a mod comes out, or if we can get away with using a similar car, or just cutting certain bits out of the original review.
You are welcome to use other games if they have the car required.

You've probably seen others film TDU and other games and combine this with the original TopGear movie audio to create a remake of certain car reviews. It didn't quite take off last time, likely to do with the fact that the GC.net site that hosted the project kept suffering from bugs and then ultimately was taken down.
So what's the plan?
It's quite simple, really. One Season at a time, a bunch of us pick reviews that we would like to remake. You can try to mimic the original clip as much as possible - or make the way you think it should've been done. Those who are unable to film with Fraps or Gamecam or Xfire can always sign up as actors/drivers.
Once all the films are pretty much completed, we'll all take in turns sharing, one week at a time, in order of the original release dates. It's a huge undertaking, but let's just take it one movie at a time.
Making Of
This is the 'making of' thread. This will be where we can organize who does what, etc. When we're nearly all ready, we'll make a TG Season 1 thread in the normal forum and also have some Season 1 quizzes to see who the biggest Top gear fan really is.
I've never seen a Top Gear remake movie - are there any examples that I can check out?
Well, I have a very old, unfinished one on the Maserati Gransport here, and the Sir community have made an excellent remake
.You'll likely find other remakes of varying quality around on YouTube.
The business end
Ok - there are 10 episodes in Season 1 - I've watched them all recently (have them all on my PC in decent quality).
I'm already halfway through the Noble M12 GTO review remake, which Colster and Andrius have helped me with so far.
Post below saying which movie you'd like to make, or if you would like to be an actor in a certain movie. I'm hoping quite a few guys are able to step up as movie makers.
This thread is also on a Official Forums here.

Looks nice

Yeah it's a real shame there's no Atari at E3, and in their explanation why, no mention about Test Drive at all.
Hopefully by the time I finish playing FUEL there'll be more good news
-
NOOOOOOOO! Not GfWL! As far as I can tell that label means that there will be no tangible online mode (unless you pay Microsoft). I have 2 GfWL titles - and on both, when I go to the multiplayer races area - none are found, no players online, nothing.
If TDU2 includes the TDU 1 island + a new one, I see no reason to continue playing TDU 1.

I'm Australian and we supposedly use the litres per 100km - but it means nothing to me since I watch Top Gear and they bang on about MPG specs :)
-
Turn HDR off

I imagine this car should be easy enough to make (older cars were fairly simple).
The sooner I can get this the better, as I'd like to make a film or two using it for SCP.
I'm not too fussy about having an original interior - as long as it works and doesn't look out of place (so I can film in the dashboard view).
Thanks in advance

^ Nice pic :)

I'm liking HTF's pic atm :)
Best I've got for now:
-
Honestly - I wouldn't care too much if TDU2 costs twice as much as TDU - you know I'm still going to buy it (assuming it doesn't suck) :) Wait, maybe I shouldn't've said that
Can you you join 3 words with 2 apostrophe's like that???

Should I win...
HAHAHAHAHA ROTFL - as if I'd ever win :p

Hehe, yeah I have stacks of old Floppy disks (still readily available - I burnt them all onto a CD). Anyone else remember dualbooting DOS and Windows 3.11 and playing games like Outrun, Grand Prix, Indianappolis, Skunny (Forest, Pizza, Space, etc), Toonstruck (which is actually on 2 CD's, forgot to list that classic game), ummmm.
Quite a few of those games still work, and you can always make use of the DOS-Box emulator for everything else :)
From memory, my first game on CD was Toonstruck, possibly followed by Need for Speed 2 SE - ah the memories.
-
The more the better, I reckon - more places to drive, more vehicles (or should I say vehicules) :) to drive, higher quality textures, etc.
-
Yeah - I've actually put all the music from the early NFS games in 2 of my playlists - works quite well actually
-
1. More songs per playlist (preferrably unlimited songs), instead of a measely 32 songs with a max of 4 playlists.
2. Better randomization - I get too many songs by the same artist in a row (when there's only about 5 songs from one artist in a playlist)
3. Music quality varies depending on chosen car - old G class cars will sound tinny cmopared to new cars, unless there's a Auto Supermarket of sorts where you can buy a new radio.
4. Play CD Audio tracks of a physical CD inserted into Drive D:\ (or whatever drive letter it is (mine are M:\ and N:\)). If there are MP3's on the disc, play them as well.
5. Have larger radio volume range - sometimes you turn music up to the max and still not loud enough, you have to go to Esc - Options - Audio, and turn down Engine, etc. Range of vaolume could also be affected by what car you're in. Some race cars wouldn't have a radio.
6. Show the radio in cockpit view - with scrolling song artist and title on the display (for high-res systems probably)

If we know what games we have in common, then we know what to talk about in the other threads in this sub-forum. You can list games that you don't currently have installed - just ones you have access to in your CD/DVD collection.

In a way I think it's great Oahu is still included. We're getting one and a half games out of this (allegedly) - they're fixing up TDU and releasing a new game all in one.

My profile page is here.
Tell you what, though - I reckon you'd be great at making TG films here.
I really hope Gran Turismo 5 comes on PC. I did hear rumors a long time ago but don't know if anything has changed since then.
