  1. I'd say no. It needed a bit more contrast when I took the colours out, but the DoF and focus is brilliant!
  2. Wanna turn down the temperature a bit? Seriously - WTFRED XD :p Edit: I edited it a bit to give it (IMO) a better look... Link to save space
  3. A Levels = better than college. More work, but better for jobs and unis.
  4. ^ Agree completely. Along with this, we have two of the best looking hatchbacks ever. Although I wouldn't have the Scirocco in green...
  5. ^ To be honest I wouldn't want to live in France either. Or Spain or Portugal. They all can't speak properly.
  6. We want the 90s era back!
  7. Meh. I've never liked them. They're too fat and podgy to be anything sporty, and they're just Nissans, so can't be luxurious.
  8. I'm a Brit. Always have been, but as part of me enjoys it, part of me wishes I wasn't. As a nation, we're a bit of a failure. The intelligent community are in good supply, but turn it to night and all the students will have a fight. Take that recent poll or European youth culture and education for example, out of 29 countries we came 24th. The Netherlands came top, with all the Scandinavian countries closely following. Norway came third. (Link) I'll be honest, the only parts of Britain I would want to visit are Cornwall, Scotland and the Isle Of Man. I've been to Cornwall a few times (last year, for example), and to Scotland a few less times, and I'm going to the Isle Of Man this year. And unless you come in the heat of summer, they are all horrible. But parts of them are beautiful - mountains in Scotland and the IoM, and cold beaches and landscapes in Cornwall (really there isn't much else, and don't deny it Loz!). I don't see the point in the big cities - I especially don't get the hype about London. Probably because I've lived a 30min train journey outside of it for my whole life, so I've been loads (we have school trips to places there :p). And I don't care for Birmingham or Manchester - too far away for absolutely nothing I can't get in London. I would love to go and live somewhere like Norway or Dutchland - the only problem is the language barrier. I am English, and speak only English. Thats one of the things the UK was put down for - we never learn foreign languages. So for us moving to a new country only really comes with either a job re-location or for retirement. Living somewhere in Northern Europe would be great, but I would have move away from everything - family, friends, a job, the concept of understanding people completely. For the benefit of what? Better scenery, maybe a better life, maybe a foreign partner. And there in that last paragraph have I summed up exactly the point. The weather sucks most of the time, the jobs are going thick and fast, immigration is immense, the chav nature has given a lot of the country hugely bad press and we're running out of space. But no-one ever moves because we cannot be arsed. We'd rather just go down the pub, because, you know, its easier. I hate Britain, and would love to go live somewhere like Norway, but I would hate to leave Britain. Thinking of coming on holiday to Britain? Don't bother - go to somewhere nice instead. /rant.
  9. I would try and darken the background a bit (maybe play with the curves or select it separately and turn down the exposure), and also re-do the numberplate to make it look more realistic - it needs to look like its just a blank numberplate, rather than blanked out. But everything else is damn perfect for my liking :)

No continuing of what went on in the entry thread either here or there. Thanks.
  11. Right I'm going to close this now, so I want NO MORE BICKERING. No more posts in this thread, or in the new one about anything to do with whether a photo is allowed or not. Thanks.
  12. Not just yet. I'll give it a couple more hours.
  13. ^ WTF was that at the end? Also he blatently had a heart attack and died - the way he fell over  Anyway, this video wins this thread.
  14. ^ Haha, our resident Red Box doesn't know much about f numbers. Basically, without going into detail, the higher the f number, the less light it will let in, and the darker it will be, so you may need to use a longer exposure time. The lower the f number also, the more blurred the background will be (don't expect huge changes here) The higher the ISO value, the brighter the photo will be, but the more grain it will have. My advice is stick to ISO200 at all times, unless absolutely necessary. The lower the f number also - the more lens blur you may get, as it is using more of the glass inside the lens, so will show more imperfections. With the kit lens, you're best off trying to stick around f8 - but don't expect everything to be perfect instantly. The way the f number, or aperture works is basically like an iris - it opens and closes to reveal more of the lens, and let in more light, and also allows you to focus on things closer to the lens, hence why macro lenses go down to around f1.8, and give nicely blurred background. When a lens blurs the background - it can show circular patterns etc - this is known as 'bokeh'. I'm sure some people might add to this, but thats a basic run down of aperture and ISO. And don't expect it to be completely accurate, or complete. I ain't got no PhD yet.
  15. The harpoons. Man them.
  16. ^ The S-type isn't that ugly... :p And indeed, Lexi are not the same as Toyotas, hence the name: Luxury EXports to the US. And I will say, it was only me who put the 'price limit' on, but ONLY as a guideline. One thing I have noticed is that some people find it hard to distinguish between a guideline and a rule. And I did say that there will be some cars that come under this guideline, that are still classed as special. And it is still Highline's final choice here.
  17. ^ Nah I think the lorry would be moving too slowly for that to have any effect - its clear that the background blurring is PS blur, and not real.
  18. First things first, never ever use any kind of photoshop blur to 'bring out' a subject. It just makes the photo look weird. You've done more than enough to bring out the lorry by making the background B&W, which I'm not a fan of either - try boosting the reds in the original photo to bring out the orange, without having to remove all the other colours (depends obviously on what the bg colours were, but try it out). The problem with these is that it looks like you photoshopped the lorry in - so it doesn't quite work IMO. But other than that nice composition and set out!
  19. TSS's first edit simply took out saturation, making it look bland, and Mb's edit just doesn't look as good - the sea has been made more blue, which doesn't really work when you have removed some of the green. I also feel that the people and boat added a little bit of detail to otherwise a fairly [i don't want to use the word ordinary here, but you get the idea] picture. It does work without the people, as they are on the land, but I think the boat should be left in. And indeed Mb - what did you align the horizon with exactly? For me, the original is the best one here.
  20. ^ Amazing photo Highline! And Mark - you heard the man. New photo please!
  21. I hate you. :p And no, I wasn't thinking when I wrote it.
  22. Because it is an X Type (they didn't sell the S or XJ with the front jaguar thing IIRC), I'm allowing it, but again Highline can but in if wanted. Right then, any further entries to give in? If so, you only have just over a day to do so! Get cracking.
  23. Source So then, that's 96 tracks, and over 600 cars. Yes. Please.:woot::thumbsup: The only problem is that GT4 had 720 cars. However they were not of GT5's epic detail etc... However - GT4 only had 51 tracks. This news certainly makes me happy. Its just a shame we will most likely have to wait until the first half of 2010. So then, Forza what now? And the source also missed the "Third tale says that for the first time ever skypaths will not be just solid and already known but that new skypaths will be built by birdtamers from the parts of existing skypaths.". Custom tracks? Do want.
  24. These are not made by me, however I felt that TDU-C needed sharing with these new additions to the ads. From Finalgear's funny picture thread. They're all too big for here, and I can't be bothered to resize them right now. ORLY? YARLY Winnar Sorry? O HAI My Fave: OOPS
  25. As I said, huge thanks for choosing a great theme! Loads of entries so far, lets hope some more come in.
