  1. Try the ones from the 512 Testarossa, which are not so old school...
  2. Fantastic work! :) Interior looks great. ;)
  3. It's not a mod, it's just a kind of optical effect that seems to be noticed when taking screenshots from certain angles. ;)
  4. That's the spirit. :) Thank you, we appreciate that. ;)
  5. WHAT!? You must be crazy! After all the work you made so far??? My friend, don't care how good others are, you made a brutal job with this R8 and is one of the most detailed mods I ever seen for TDU. Don't stop it man, please!! :sulk: With all due respect to "tool831", if he is such a good modder as you say, he will choose to do other cars instead or will help with you with your problems with this one. No one can say that your mod is only average and that wants to do a better one, because that's bulls###. Don't give up, people are amazed and very excited with your R8, just read the comments again through the entire thread. ;)
  6. Not bad, but I don't like that radical rim style with large borders... ;) I'm using the CLS ones: -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- By maxld Also, I've replaced the Noble M400 ones with TVR T440R ones: -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- By maxld NOTE: in this ones I've already replaced the TVR logo with the Noble logo.
  7. I would prefer to focus first on a good power supply, graphics card, memory, sound card... and a good UPS (MGE Ellipse ASR 1000VA) for backup and protection. In the end if there was money left, then yes, Quad Core, why not. ;) Games PC spec recommendations are useless. The minimums are too optimistic... and the recommended, well let's just say that they are in reality the best and expensive you can buy. :cheeky: The rest is just for filling paper space. I'm not saying that Quad Cores are not better for some applications, but they hardly give you an "amazing" difference in games. If you forget benchmarks, you really don't have such a necessity for Quad. Not even Crysis gives work to Dual Core the major time. It basicaly eats RAM for breakfast, lunch and dinner... and demands HDD usage. You benefit a lot more investing in RAM (capacity/timings) and in two WD Raptors in RAID configuration. That's my opinion. ;)
  8. Is taking so much time to arrive to PC that a lot of people are just not so interested any more... and I don't blame them. It's one more nail in the coffin of the "PC conversion delays", to force people to buy consoles instead. And for what I heard, the game is different from previous ones... more real and not so funny... we'll see.
  9. Hey, SP038, any chance for a Lada 1300? I have a friend with a Fiat 124, which is identical. These old Ladas are basically Fiats, but they are true classics.
  10. Ruf RT-12 really looks promising... but there is way too much carbon inside. :p
  11. Replacing a Koenigsegg with this Lada must be a big LOL.
  12. Far Cry 2: Prepare for looping. This game is way too repetitive. I'll get some action but the map is big and the missions very similar. Go here, go there, go there again, come back for more... and in the way I'll get lots of armed thugs at the crossroads, which later becomes a big inconvenient because you are just passing but they damage your car quickly and you have to stop to fix it and to kill the buggers. Multiply this by 4 (at least) in every mission or simple cruising around the map. Later you'll get a new map, but the situations are the same all over again... with the inconvenient that they now have mortars, rocket launchers and other "heavy artillery" power. Mirror's Edge: Hm,. I don't know this game, never heard about it... Fallout 3: To put it simple... the Oblivion scheme doesn't combine very good with fire weapons. I was very excited about this game, but when I got it... well, I was a little disappointed. The begining is terrific, but then when the action really starts, things get very hard at fightings... But the game is receiving very good ratings everywhere, maybe you'll like it. ;) RaceDriver:GRID : This one is just another disappointing Codemasters game. After CMR Dirt, this is no surprise. Graphics are good, but gameplay is very bad in my opinion, it's too arcade and cheesy. It looks like a game made for american kids. I don't recommend it. Race Driver 3 is the best yet. Conclusion: Between the three games I know, go for Fallout 3. ;)
  13. What do you mean?
  14. Hi, my advice to you: do not "save" in the power supply. Choose a good ad reliable one. Corsair is great, I recommend you the TX750 (not modular), for example.;) Enermax is also a good brand, but BeQuiet! is probably one of the bests... although is expensive. CPU: I think a good Dual Core is actually better because you save a lot of money and the difference is not that much in games.;) Choose the Core 2 Duo E8600... is a very good and popular cpu. Choose a motherboard with either X45 or X58 chipset. X58 if you are planning to do a good overclock. Otherwise, go for one X45. Graphic card: "ATi HD4870" or "HD4870 X2". Best performance/price ratio.:) DDR5, lots of bandwidth. Memory: go for either GSkill, OCZ or Corsair. Corsair are usually very friendly with Asus motherboards, and are recommended by them. But both GSkill and OCZ are very good too. Sound card: using Windows XP? Forget the Asus, choose one Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium or even the Fatal1ty PRO Series with X-RAM, if you have more money. You will not have better sound in XP, trust me. ;)
  15. Hi, decided to present myself... I'm from Portugal, I do PC hardware reviews for my site and I'm a TDU user since the beta test in February 2007, if my memory is correct... :) I have the game and the car pack and only this month I noticed that mods are being made for TDU. I'm not a "real" modder, but I try to do some simple modifications on my own sometimes, basically skins. I'm a mod user since... I don't know... maybe NFS 3 Hot Pursuit, GTA 3 ... not sure... I actually used so many mods in GTA SA that the game engine just couldn't keep up with the buildings and roads textures. :D Anyway, congrats for TDU-Central and a big thank you for all the high quality modders around here. ;)
  16. Sound card... for Win XP I recommend: - Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatality PRO Series (PCI-E) - or the simple Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium. Little more cheap, without aluminium cover and without X-Ram(useful for games). But for Win Vista... the Creative drivers are giving me some bugs and the updates are not really helping a lot. Also, the sound is different from the XP sound (not better). I would recommend you the Asus Xonar D2X (PCI-E). It sounds equal in both XP and Vista... the quality is top notch, but in my opinion it has a little problem: you feel need to change settings a lot whenever you decide to play music, play game or see a movie. The custom settings you use for one application are not good to others. With a X-Fi you can use the same settings for whatever you do. No need to change a single thing. I had a X-Fi XtremeMusic before, then I bought a Xonar D2X, but few weeks later I decided to sell it and go for the Titanium Fatal1ty PRO. Although I have those Vista bugs with the X-Fi, I've done a good choice, because those Xonar settings changes were making me mad. You could also consider the Auzentech cards, they use X-Fi materials, specs and advantages, but for what I heard, they have improved drivers...
  17. I can use the Ferrari 612 rims until a good mod appears: -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- By maxld Like RX_37 said here, they look very close to the Carrera originals. And you only will notice de Ferrari logo when you look really close. :)

    BMW's

    I only ask for this one: BMW M5 E39 - 1999 Gallery: http://ezh.menelon.ee/M5-E39-99/IMG_8877 Best-M5-ever!
  19. Interior looks very promising indeed. :) I hope it don't have temperature gauge at maximum, fuel at "empty" and lights ON for no reason...
  20. Ferrari F430 with Ferrari 612 Scaglietti rims: -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- By maxld
  21. They look similar... hmm, I'm going to try them with the Porsche Carrera GT Mod... ;) Actually I've also swapped the F430 #2 rims for this 612 ones, and they also look great. :) Next experiment will be finding good ones for swapping the Mercedes SLR McLaren #2 rims... the SLK has many rims that can work good on the SLR...
  22. Hi guys, most of you (experienced modders) probably already done this (or even custom ones), but I just wanted to share it with everybody else... As you know, the Ferrari 575 has some mediocre default rims, but if you copy the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti ones, it will look like this: -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- By maxld at 2008-11-14 -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- By maxld at 2008-11-14 They look amazing with the 575. :) In case someone doesn't know how to do it... - Backup the "F575_M_F_01.bnk" file, which is in the "...Euro\Bnk\Vehicules\Rim\Ferrari" folder. Copy it to a safe folder, just for precaution. - Copy the "F612_F_01.bnk" file to you desktop, or another folder. Rename it: "F575_M_F_01.bnk"... and copy it to the same "...Euro\Bnk\Vehicules\Rim\Ferrari" folder, replacing the original one. - Burn, rubber, buuurnn.
  23. Looks really nice with the lights! This is going to be great.
