  1. Your dad sounds like a wise man. :p

Very wise not wearing a helmet. :wise:

How did the M2 live up to expectations? You are a big BMW fan so I guess asking this question might not be all that worthwhile, but if you had the money would you be looking at an M2 for yourself, or a competitor?

It was sort of what I expected - a totally liveable daily car with some maniac genes hidden in it.

I had not driven an M car before, so unfortunately I can't compare it to anything other than my 135i that I took with me that day. The M2 was in that promo blue color, had a manual gearbox and the optional M Performance exhaust.

The sound is completely wicked for a factory exhaust. It is VERY LOUD with the flaps open, though tame when closed. The piped-in engine sounds suck big time, but with windows down you won't hear anything other than the fully-opened exhaust, hehe. It is a must-have option.

Honestly, it did not feel as fast as others have stated and as I expected. Mine is weaker (326 vs 370 PS, 430 vs 465 Nm), but the thrust, and sensation of acceleration is, surprisingly, on the same level. It pulls noticeably better up top and does not die after 6k rpm as the 135. I definitely do not want more speed and power, though.

The cabin is too dark due to the standard black leather (hate it) and the cheap-looking dry carbon trim. Standard low-tier BMW.

To finally answer your question: the only two other cars I would consider: TT RS and M3 in San Marino Blue. They had this exact spec there and I fell in automotive love.

I'd buy the M2 in a heartbeat because I'm currently 20 (not that like I will in the near future sadly) and like small-ish coupes. I am sure as I grow up I'll be leaving towards more and more to the aforementioned beautiful dark blue M3 with brown leather.

And by the way... even though the 135i is worse in every objective way... I'd keep it alongside the M2. I can't put my finger on it, it just feels more alive and funky. Yet looks much more understated. Might sound like a cliché, but that's just what I was thinking on my way home.

  2. And makes them get out of their home, go to a park, and play with another human being. You can't do anything just sitting on your ass at home.

Also makes them crash into other people walking on the street because they're looking at their phone screen instead of where they are going.

    F'in hell.

I do not have problems going outside in nature; actually, I don't need an app to get my ass outside my home.

  3. Yet another thing that glues people's eyes to their mobile phone screen.

I've never been into these Japanese cartoons, Nintendos, dragons, etc. so I give less than one duck.

The idea is cool st first, although I suspect some will not appreciate people loitering our acting suspiciously near their place of business or residence. I won't be trying it.

    Very good point, tho.

  4. Have I told you yet that I had a one-hour test drive in the BMW M2 on Friday afternoon? It was great and I was genuinely happy that day, which is something that I had not felt in a long time. Though I spent the night in the hospital due to my dad falling off a bike and injuring himself.

  5. I imagine a fair few people have heard of him but I've only just recently started watching his videos, MotoManTV :) I can't imagine he is to everyone's taste but I quite like him.

Seen his vids before, he's pretty decent. :nods:

If you want to know where the original Fast and Furious movie comes from and what was the inspiration, read this article.

  6. so today I'm driving to work and smell burning oil, open up the bonnet of the 5 and my turbo feed pipe is spewing the stuff everywhere :( yes it's old and french but it's been reliable so far! thank god i can fix it at work
