  1. Jon this board is a fan community and has only been going about 5 months. In regards to your points though I know that with the release of the patch that activity is at a peak and unfortunately it seems to be those who have problems who are the most vocal and that's quite understandable, as the wait hasn't been worth it to them and this is why we are asking for your feedback. At the moment all the feedback (as well as general hate) is going on at Atari's official boards and why not as they are the source and as I said we are just mainly a community who enjoy this game. In regards to your second point, with a board like this most of the conversation is going to be about the game, games, cars and usually anything related to cars. Of course the General chat section encourages off-topic conversation and there are clear examples of this going on but as I said we are mainly small right now compared to what you would call an active community. The third point I can't say much about as I don't really play games on my PC being as it is my workstation, though that's not too say I haven't seen the attention and respect that it appears not to be given to the PC crowd. As a mod at the Atari Europe board I see some of the behind the scenes talk and such and I can tell you it's more active than you think, there's just so many departments, quality control and testing (you may laugh but it's true) but unfortunately inevitably there's always an issue with something. I'm not excusing what's been happening but I have seen that it's not the "sit on your hands and wait" or "lazy workers/developers/coders" approach that most people seem to have of Atari and Eden Games. Now please let's keep this on topic, if the game has problems for you or is now running please post a description and of course your specifications, anything that can make this game improve and work better for more people and configurations would be great, as even if you don't like to admit it, this game is good, it just unfortunately has some serious issues for some. Thanks.
  2. Direct link added now also, as usual all new info in the first post.
  3. Hey there, as most people now know the patch is finally released and it seems that as always there's the good, but of course you can't have the good without the bad, so if you are experiencing any issues or problems can you please post them here with a small description of what exactly is or isn't happening in your game as well as your system specs, attaching a DXDiag may be even better. Please keep your posts civil and constructive and let's see if we can get a good list together and help this game be the title it deserves to be. Thanks!
  4. Sorry to hear that Celt. I'm going to post a new thread for Patch feedback so if you could post your issue in there and also elaborate on what wheel and also what the issue is as well as your system specs it would be great! Cheers.
  5. Hi there MadGamer, welcome to TDUc, check out the TDU - General section for a FAQ with a huge map of all the locations and such which should help you get your bikes quicker.
  6. Confirmation and Quote now added to the first post. :)
  7. Hi there I have just had it confirmed that it is the actual patch, I'll have a quote for you hopefully. The euro boards were taken offline to allow for more traffic for download.
  8. Yeah I'm adding a note now, but remember the member who said 1.86, we weren't sure if he was an Official rep of Atari or Eden. I'm going to email The_Mole and see if I can find out anything about this. Thanks. If you wish to wait for Official confirmation then please do so.
  9. The patch is released and confirmed!! [TDU PC Patch #1 Download Info] [Direct download from TDU Central]
  10. Not sure if this is officially the one but it is a ZIP as stated though it says 1.66 so who knows ! http://www.testdriveunlimited.com/community/index_pc.php?pg=news_detail&id=4
  11. It's just hit 3PM now, not confirmed yet but a member called Ditress has said the patch will be 1.86 and should be up within 10-30mins.
  12. In under an hour, how's that for you? ;) UK is BST which is 1 hour extra than usual GMT, thus we are currently GMT+1. That make sense?
  13. As far as I know that is not it, I will be sure to let you all know when the actual patch goes up.
  14. Was looking for some good Nürburgring videos and came across this site full of some of the best videos I've ever seen and in very High Quality too. The sound, the driving and the racing is just phenomenal and damn close at times. renn.tv Download link renn.tv youtube vids
  15. This is also posted at youtube: Wow that was incredible guys, honestly that was a well thought out, executed and put together video. It flowed smoothly, the music was exciting and the scenes matched with it perfectly. Great to see the Mafia being put to good to use on the PC also. Fantastic work guys, really ! Thanks for spreading the name of TDUcentral, really really appreciate it and let's hope with the patch coming Monday that this game will get the community it deserves ! 5*
  16. Polyphony Digital are an inhouse Sony developer meaning they are essentially Sony, just like Turn 10 is an inhouse developer of Microsoft Gaming Studios. You would only ever see these 2 on the PC maybe never each others consoles, though imagine Forza & GT as the one game.
  17. Check first post for an update.
  18. I was just about to post this, apparently they worked very hard to get it for then also.
  19. The pitcrew and Xanavi 350Z is CGI but after that it's ingame from the replay mode and you know GT has always used it's game engine for replays with little effects like motion blur and depth of field. That was GT5 and yes there was 8 cars also and yes it will be online and we will get a taster of it the end of this year with GT5 Prologue. Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport are now having to outdo each other and that can only mean good things for us ! [Higher Quality stream as well as HD download link]
  20. Just a note: The server hasn't had it's anti-cheat detection enabled yet.
  21. Notice what the actual filename says deploytest and the A after the version number, it's not a finalised patch, it was for internal testing of downloading from FTP and testing it is not a final version. If you decide to use it please note you do so at your own risk and also direct from Atari themselves it will probably result in the inability of online play. As I said, what you choose to do is on you, you have no comeback on Atari or Eden if any trouble happens with your system due to it.
  22. A = Alpha so not a final version, none of the files that have been leaked are recommended for install as it will probably result in no online play plus a possible banning.
  23. The actual patch will be between 20-30Mb.
  24. There was a leak of a test patch recently that if you should find you should not install it, I repeat NOT INSTALL IT as it will not allow you to connect online and it is not a FINAL version. If you decide to try to do this you will not be able to connect online and may even run the risk of being banned so don't try it. Also note if any corruption or any failure to your system should occur you have no come back for this. The filename to look for is: TDU_Patch_1.64A_deploytest_20070706_10_32.exe Note the deploytest section and also the filesize is only 16.6Mb. Thank-you.
