Well here we are almost 3 weeks in and already there's an active mad squad and plenty of visits to the site according to the logs. Currently there's a 1 in 10 signup rate which is actually very good considering the site is virtually new but to celebrate this we are going to start doing competitions and these are mainly going to appear on milestones of the board and the first one will happen when we hit 100 members !! The prize is something everyone with an Xbox 360 can use ....2100 Microsoft Points. :cool: More info within the coming week or 2 and also ideas for the competition are appreciated. Re: TDU Central Fly Drive - Latest 19/02 :: 02/19 That Elise run was brilliant, not to fast but not exactly slow either and the sound and the handling it was just amazing to drive for that distance with all of us in tow for what must have been close to 100 miles. Sorry for the sharp exit on my part Lotus, I had to go somewhere sharpish and get a bill paid.

Here at TDU Central we have an active following especially on TDU unsurprisingly enough and what tends to happen is we'll be cruising the highways of Oahu when a member will join for a drive, then another, and another and by the time you know it there's what looks like an entourage behind us thus we have dubbed this 'Fly Drive'. Why you ask? Well because we all go for a drive on the fly ! Get it?! No ah well there's no hope for you then ....annnnyyywaaayy on these drives which are usually a lot of fun and most of the time results in good driving there are stopoffs and this is a perfect place for a photo so that's we've been doing. Taking photo's of Fly Drive's and from now on we will be posting them here, we can't always remember the people that were there but I'm sure you'll spot yourself if you were in one and if you want to talk about it or the drive then feel free to do so and as we said they're usually a good laugh !! That was a good episode and I enjoyed the 997 Turbo review as the editing and photography was stunning and JC did actually give some facts and voice his opinion on the car which was interesting but still filled with his humour. The talk about the Brabus was excellent, I liked when he talked about it on the dyno that with 1000 lbs/tq the car wouldn't move because the traction control was scared to let go and that when they turned it off it just span and killed the rubber on the tires until there was none. The space shuttle was good, actually seeing The Rocket Men being able to do something like that was pretty cool and a testament to their genius but tbh watching that Robin crashing down and exploding was actually fun to view though I bet seeing it work properly would've been good too. All in all a good episode and now we officially know JC has gotten rid of the GT and now has a cracking wee Gallardo Spyder and I personally cannot wait to see the LP640 next week. I think JC is developing a fondness for the Raging Bull again and hopefully as he said with the Gallardo Spyder; 'The Lunacy is back !'. :D

Well as many of you know mine is knacked so I've bought a new one but I forgot it was Friday and so it won't arrive till Monday, ah well. Anyway why do they make these bloody things so flimsy and crap ! Easy to brake and a wire so thin you could cut it with paper. This will be my 3rd mic since Dec 2005 but at about £12-15 a pop, it's damn annoying.

One thing that irks me in TDU is the brake pressure. I mean if you press the brakes and the lights don't come on you will brake a lot smoother and more lifelike than the constant slam and skid you get when you hit the brake pressure that the lights come on. Not to mention you brake quicker when not skidding, it's almost as if when you slam the brakes there's some kind of lockup happening that's taking your car further whereas if you brake lightly you stop quicker without the screech. So do you agree?

LOL yeah Adsense can be pretty sly yet clever that way, remember see anything you like click it and view it cause it's good for you ;)

Find this demo a bit easy with the red diamonds showing enemy positions and the like, well if you're like me and hate the automatic help turn it off in the main menu by going to options and turn off the friendly/enemy icons and you have one hell of a tougher challenge, you need to look for the enemy moving with the drone, you need to scout the area and of course the enemy can see you before you see them which makes for frustration. Honestly give it a try, I make my games as hard as possible now and find I get a lot more satisfaction from beating the game because of it. I wish the first person view showed a gun though like Rainbow Six Vegas though.

Sounds like it went well, anyone get any pictures or anything? Oh and if you saw my gamertag on TDU, GRAW, Rainbow Six and several demos especially Dead Rising that was my little cousin finding out I had a 360. lol

I enjoyed this game on the Xbox and it wasa good play on the strategy/FPS as you had to command your troops plus participate plus the enemy on the hardest level were quite smart and would flank you good and proper. I look forward to this game also ever since that video they released a while ago anyway.

It varies but it all depends on the clicks and click through ratio, example an advertiser may only pay a $1 per 1000 impressions. I can't say to much about how it works as Google don't like it but it's not a lot put it that way, if it's enough to cover server costs then that's fine but in 2 days so far we've made about a $1. lol Of note since the server move there have been 80,000 hits on the forum !!

When Google can't display anything due to not having indexed the site yet or server issues it will display a Public Service Announcement. It said it might be about 24-48 hours but the Google Adsense bot is already crawling the forum so the ad should change in a few hours or the early hours of tomorrow anyway. As I said any opinions about it, feel free to share. :cool: Pherelas you can choose where to put it yourself, there's no plugin in vBulletin to do this for you, though if it turns out to work fairly well we may put a banner at the bottom also though I'm not sure if that would look too cluttered. We're looking at the board from the members POV, not just our own so don't worry about eyesore ads or flashing ads or flash ads (I hate that mosquito !!), you won't see them here.

Hey all, we have been working away on the site (as well as other things), and have started bringing the videos back in for download until we can complete the 'mediacontrol' script we are working on and with all this going live soon within the next month we have decided to trial Google's Adsense. We feel they offer the less intrusive or annoying ads and unlike most ad places will actually display ads that may interest the user and will also (we hope) allow us to offer prizes for future competitions. You don't have to do anything with them and if you have an opinion about them then please let us know. All we ask is that you don't continually click on the ads as Google frowns on this but other than that it's just a trial is all. Thanks for reading this and we hope you understand why we are testing this system out.
