  1. As many of you will have noticed the forum has been experiencing some extreme hanging and slowdown these last 24+ hours. The reason for this was quite a few things. First issue wasn't really an issue and was supposed to make stability and speed much better as our server was being migrated as well as many many more to a brand new more advanced datacentre. Now here lies the first issue, a key hardware component failed and even though Cisco were contacted and were on the case twice they gave out software that actually made the problem worse. Now the datacentre is basically stuck and had to remove the new and replace with the old while still working with Cisco to fix the new, after many hours and I bet many arguments and blame being thrown around they finally got the correct software working and now we are back. I apologise for any insanity and community happenings you may have missed during this time. Cheers all! Diablo :D :bparty:
  2. Of course there's drifting, the 9 year olds need something to do and the 15 year olds need their Initial-D nonsense. Drifting has killed the racing game.
  3. http://forum.turboduck.net/showthread.php?t=13877
  4. I secretly added it to the Big Thread as it's to do with the media in their but wanted to see who would notice it first. :) So well done.

  5. It's not amazing imo, it will be a good game but imho it's starting to lack more and more as a sim-racer. It's still overly smooth and the grip has improved somehow, it's quite strange sometimes how the car doesn't break out on you though there are realistic natural instances of this too. Graphics, well they are good but there's something very not right about them, I think it's because they look more like a cartoon in places. Cockpit view is alright, you don't really get the visceral impact of other games and this is where I feel that FM3 lacks; feedback to the driver/player. The only impacts you feel on the track are the parts where the track dips sharply, some corners in real life take a car round by itself due to the camber or the entry into the corner, there is one instance in this demo I could see this happening and yet it doesn't. Get a wheel on the grass in a high bhp RWD and it would usually result in a slight to total loss of control but in FM3 the grass and dirt is like tarmac itself. The main thing I find annoying though is the somewhat over abundance of grip and the easy nature in which you can drive the Racing Porsche. Like I said it's a good game, how it will fair in the aspects that used to matter is a different thing altogether.
  6. Q: What do a tractor, a windfarm and a national wildlife refuge sign have in common? A: Erm... they appear to probably be assets for TDU2/TD Next believe it or not. :D
  7. Hmm good question, I don't know if it's my favourite as there is still things wrong with it but it's definitely in my top 3 of all time.

  8. Yep I'm the same, not because it's an X5 but because it's a BMW!! Hopefully Atari got BMW on board for TDU 2/TD Next.
  9. I've just been informed by the artist that this is in fact not real and that he himself does not exist. Sorry for the mixup. :(
  10. Not too bothered about the tread pattern but fixing the wheel in motion animation is a detail they should fix for sure in my opinion.
  11. Well done mate, images are in the first post. :D
  12. I found these images of a BMW X5 sporting the legendary TDU 505 licence plate sort of hiding away on an artist's site where he had Test Drive Unlimited 2 listed as Confidential and no mention of the original game. Remember not to take too much from this and also this could simply be an old TDU model we don't know but one thing is for sure if Atari have managed to get BMW for the next game then plenty of people including myself will have smiles as big as anything right now! Enjoy! BMW X5 Concept Model/Renders 2009-09-23 ============================================= Again on my travels trawling for new info I found a rather exciting find showing a rendered vehicle (ingame model perhaps) that may possibly be in the next game. Now rather than just blurt it out I'll play a game with you, yes I know you hate me but hey this should be easy if you guys know your things with 4 wheels. If you guess it right I'll post the render(s) in full, if not though then I'll post them up on the 1st October anyway so you'll get to see them either way! Alright go! Congrats to SilviaS14a for getting it first!
  13. I'll check for you this week but it's usual Kyosho with the carpet and such, not sure on the seats themselves though, they are usually smooth plastic mind you. I'm going to be busy cutting all these names out. lol
  14. You didn't .................. no you didn't don't worry about it.

  15. There are things floating around that hint that it will be more TEST DRIVE Next than TEST DRIVE Unlimited 2 to be honest. Only those in the know really know what's going on however.
  16. Thank you very much mate, seriosuly, really, truly, madly, deeply, psychotically appreciate the mountain of beans and support you guys are giving! Best of luck to everyone!!
  17. It's so shinnnnnnnnnnnyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Cheers Elliott, good luck mate!
  18. Poll is open again and the best person to ask of this is probably Djey.
  19. Nice place baldy, like the floating above water images. :oook: *New set* Christmas lights up already?
  20. Feedback and your views on this matter is appreciated. If it blows out of proportion however then it will be locked and the matter will be closed. Play nice. :D
  21. From what people are posting and Djey is showing, editing these factors does not mean you will get banned when hitting the online portion of the game. That is the main reason for our current stance on this issue. Believe me we can see both sides and had a long discussion with Djey about it. We're not only prohibiting for the sake of it, we looked into and weighed up the pros against the cons and at the moment the cons are more experience destroying for those online than not having them We're always looking at it though.
  22. The dust collected in the 4mins I had it out, the progression of the pics shows how the dust just collected on it! :D To be fair though it's because it's been under wraps for so long that it just attracts dust as soon as the model is left to breathe. :oook: The colour/paint gets better also once it's let out of it's box. I remember reading this with a previous model I got a while ago. When you first view the model it will be a bit dull and then after about 30mins+ the paint just starts to shine as the model isn't contained and can breathe! :monkeydance:
  23. Alright as you know we ran a contest called SAW last month for the first time which stands for Support and Win. The premise of this is simple, all of those members who Support TDU Central by donating a certain amount are automatically entered into a draw to win a stunning prize. Last month it was a Kyosho Audi R8 model (won by rollingtheboy) and without knowing that we would need to be moving to more expensive accommodation we purchased the next prize for the next contest! This prize is a Kyosho BMW E92 M3 Coupe Dealer Edition which you cannot buy in the shops as they were made especially for BMW dealers funny enough. Anyway as we are half way through the month and we have this model ready to give away we are dropping the amount for automatic entry to $5 USD (or it's equivalent in your own currency) and remember for each $5 (or equivalent) you give you will get an extra entry into the draw; so $10 = 2 entries, $20 = 4 entries and so on. Winner: Andrex Puppy (Andreaz1) Just look at this thing. :) This may be the last SAW unfortunately until we get a grip on our situation but don't let that ruin the fact that you can help and at the same time be in line to win yourself a fantastic high quality diecast model at the same time. Thanks. Entrants 1) EyeKatcher 2) The Sponge 3) Firestorm998 4) sfy2004 5) NitroBlueUK 6) kJell01 7) Speed 8) Woodruff 9) tWm 10) switch11111 11) Mellors 12) Frothy Biscuits 13) Bimmer 14) Mr Softie Support and Win Rules =============== 1) Contest is open to all members who donate a minimum of $5 (or equivalent) during the Contests duration 2) For every $5 (or equivalent) donated an extra entry will be given, note this can be accumulated through the Contests duration ie; $5 + $5 = 2 entries, $5 + $10 = 3 entries and so on... 3) The Staff of TDU Central (except Diablo) are eligible to enter the Contest as they are members too 4) No immediate repeat winners, if you were the Contest Winner in the Previous month then you are not eligible to Win in the next immediate month ie; Winner in August cannot Win in September, you can still Support of course but you will not be entered into that months Contest draw 5) Postage & Packaging of item is covered by TDU Central not the winner so no extra or hidden charges will be experienced, Winner can however pay extra if they wish for faster postage if so required 6) No cash alternative can be given, the prizes are bought beforehand and are physically available at the time 7) TDU Central reserves the right to terminate this contest at any time, if this is done then any Donations made during that current Contest month will be returned ie; We will NOT keep your donations for that month 8) Drawing will take place at a specified time and date where the Winner will literally be drawn out of a hat, this drawing will also be shown via Webcam live for complete fairness These Rules are a Work in Progress and can be amended at any time, if done an edit and timestamp for said edits will be shown. Any questions feel free to ask in this very thread. And if you think I missed anything please point it out. And of course if you enter the Contest then I wish you the Very Best of Luck!!
