Getting there. Brands will be probably still have to be added manually though. I did some light work last week which allows it to utilise the logos from TDUMT and autoreads the names of cars. Names are automatic, but yeah the brands I have to figure out myself since I don't have a copy of the list of them, but I'll get there. Would also like to mention I can't actually add new editable things such as Rim Size or anything else with wheels really - everything that is editable is already editable, except for tuning packs, which have been in TDUPE3 since January. I'll give a proper preview for TDUPE3 on my site in the next week or two, but here's one screenshot showing the logo integration and autoread of names. Also notice the new progress bar at the bottom, that entire toolbar shows warnings an errors if your game is incompatible (no magic map, no community patch, no megapack). The progress bar is for when downloading physics from my site. I've recently added a forum which I haven't launched yet, but it's on there and I'm hoping to get modders to upload their physics on to the forums when it is complete and then those physics can be downloaded directly from within TDUPE, as well as links to appropriate vehicle models.

Dredgy: TDU Performance Editor [Car Database 2.1 Released]

I never released a 1.9. -
Not even close. Microsoft has around $150000000 of Apple Shares, less than 1% of Apple. And the two are in some sort of partnership - Microsoft is the largest 3rd party software provider for Macs, with MS Office being the best selling Mac software. And the plagiarism rumors is somewhat false, both companies take ideas from each other but no outright plagiarism has really ever occured. The original idea that Microsoft stole Apple's earlier operating system is partially a lie, because the operating system they "stole" was originally written in a programming language called Applesoft, which Apple originally bought from Microsoft. In terms of operating system, I have no preference, both are easy enough to use and both are good for one thing or another, but due to Apple's limitations on customizing hardware, I stick with a PC.

Here driving an expensive car is pretty much a deathwish. This town is a mix of young people who love cars and older people who are very anti-progress and rather environmental, and want all cars dead. Plenty of stories of carspotting which irritate the drivers, it's why I never take pictures of cars when someone are in it. American cars are always a horrible target here, for both teenage car spotters and anti-development wackos (all the expensive cars here are generally driven by developers or construction magnates or whatnot). I've beared witness to a few incidents: A Corvette C1 Convertible was mobbed by about ten teenage boys with cameras on main street, grinding traffic to a halt unti security from a nearby shopped moved them on. My neighbour drove me to the shops a few months back to get a new battery for my Camry and after leaving his Viper alone in the car park for about 10 minutes, it was surrounded by teenagers and one of them had climbed into the drivers seat for a photo opportunity. When the Dodge Dealership opened here, they had to hire security to stop people going in for photographs of the cars. Which was strange since they never sold Vipers or any other decent car. Having a similar problem with the new Porsche Dealership at the moment, though no one's actually game enough to buy a 911 or Cayman, so the streets are awash with new Cayenne's. And my mates Hummer H2, he parked that at the shops and had the sides beaten with a golf club and one of the windows knocked out. Nothing stolen though. Plenty of stories I've heard about but not witnessed in any way including people spray painting a 370Z...letting down the tires of Audi R8's was qutie popular here for a bit, but they've stopped selling R8's at the local dealership now and everyone who had one has either moved or sold theirs.

My Setup - ~600KB - 3200*1080 Not technically my desktop, but still it shows my new workspace and it really is a technical wet dream. Running Ubuntu Linux on the right CRT monitor and Windows 7 Ultimate on my left LCD monitor. Want to go out and buy a copy of OS/X so I can run Windows and Mac simultaneously but dunno if I can be bothered. This is just my toy setup, I may post my business setup or my entertainment setup if I get bored, both of which are much more monstrous than this.

Right, TDUPE is still under somewhat active development although there has been a bit of a hiatus since January. I want TDUPE3 released within the next couple of weeks and I intend it to be the final version of TDUPE, so I want it to be a good release. So let me know every little (however seemingly ridiculous) suggestion that you would like to see in TDUPE3.

The project is still in very active development. TDUPE is just a shell, a graphical interface for Test Drive's rather complex database system. When you put in a gear ratio, that ratio is saved to the Test Drive Database. Test Drive is what actually extracts, calculates and uses the data. So any problems you are experiencing are Test Drive's shortcomings. However, for the problem you described, you may wanna play around with the gearbox inertia setting. -

When you save it, a value is being left blank, whether it be Camera, IK, HUD or something else. If you could let me know what car isn't saving and what value is being left blank, tell me. I know the Corvett 71's HUD is left blank and the Jag XK's Camera is left blank. -

You don't need to configure that, any configuration necessary is now done in the program, under the Settings menu. -

TDU2 Trailer out now! [UPDATE 14-12-2010: 11th trailer released]

Answer in bold. I would hope that the Gumpert and whatnot will still be able to be obtained in offline mode. -
Yep. They created one animation, which would take at most a couple of days and a bit of code which would take less than that. Variables would not have to be added since it would be a set point and positioning/track path of the car would be determined by the size of the car and size of the road, every necessary point in the game will already be created, you just need to add a model of a tow truck on one of those points and an event to make the car drive to it. That said, I'm not saying this is a good idea, nor that I want to see it in game, but it's not something particularly difficult to add in.
-
They'd have to create one animation, which could be used across all cars. Like the driving out of the houses or the paintshop... No. If you are driving the truck there won't be any animation needed at all. Won't make any difference to this idea. The animations for loading/unloading cars would be automatically generated, as I said before - much like leaving houses and paintshops. Most likely the programmer would just set the points where the car is to travel in the animation 9(ie A to B to C) and those points would already be created at every house. Formula and programs will calculate where the car needs to go at every house and across every make of car. Nor is it as difficult as you are making it out to be. I have no idea how Eden have programmed TDu2, but the general rule for writing code is: reusability. You write something once and then you're able to reuse it again and again in different situations.

The Megapack does not include a Maserati. If you are using a Maserati mod, it will not necessarily appear in the Maserati showroom, but rather in the showroom of the car you replaced. (So if you replaced the Ascari KZ1 with the Maserati GT S, the Maserati will be in the Ascari showroom)

You are using the wrong tool. Download TDUPE instead of TDUUT, and play around in that. Wheel size is a delicate thing and I don't think you can realy change it. -
130kph...I stick to the speed limit :p. I'll will mention though (since I detect sarcasm :p) that I am blessed with some of the best roads and scenery in the world - beach, rainforest and "mountains" that definitely surpass those in Oahu and most likely Ibiza, but this isn't a point I was trying to prove. My real car argument wasn't that I had an Enzo at my disposal or that I could rip around at 300kph down the side of a mountain while upside down and on fire, it was more that the sensation of real driving (regardless of car or speed) is more fun and exciting than just sitting in an armchair pressing buttons and moving a wheel around. If you have the best wheel in the world (assuming that'd be one of the Logitech monsters) you still don't get that driving sensation - the pleasure of a perfect gear change or those lovely forces acting on you when you brake that little bit too hard. Any controller you have will be digital, controlling a digital environment. Having a realistic driving simulation without the real bits that actually make driving fun is just tedious and annoying. And your exotic local roads - any road in any suburb of any town in the world is more beautiful and exotic then a couple of lifeless pixels. But yeah, as you said you are not allowed to drive - so just have fun. It's a game and games are not by any means meant to be realistic - quite the opposite in fact.

For TDUUT you need to drag the file you want to convert or decrypt onto the .exe. -
Arcade. If I wanted realism, I'd drive a real car. Tbh I really like TDU's driving style.

Toyota Camry. Well multiple Toyota Camry's as work cars. Got a black Sportivo that is pretty much the best cruiser I have ever had for my daily drive. Got an (very) old Tarago which I use for off-roading and other stuff that modern cars couldn't cope with. I have a fairly modern Honda Odyssey as well (2005 or 2006 model) that I keep in my other house to due to it being to low to navigate my driveway. It was bought as a "will you move in with me" incentive for my girlfriend.

I was invited for some of my humanitarian efforts in the Middle East, spent a few days in (actually just outside in Al Fallujah) Bagdhad and got to know a few troops and a couple of pilots. I caught the Herc on its way back to Oz. After the rather uncomfortable flight, I was quite happy to get on my Emirates flight home.
