  1. So do a manual install onto a car that you DO have..... This isn't a right hand drive car so it makes no sense to whine about not being able to use it when manual installation is always an option.
  2. I added 21 more cars to the list, and removed one of the older cars, the Evo 9 MR (it was a Juiced 2 conversion IIRC), and replaced it with the newer Evo 9 MR. BMW 3.0 CSL (1971) BMW M1 (1981) Datsun 240Z RHD DeTomaso Vallelunga Ferrari 250 GT California Ford RS-200 Evo Holden HSV-W427 RHD Jag XJ-220 RHD Lambo Countach LP-5000 QV Lotus Carlton RHD Mercedes 190-E Evo Mercedes SLS AMG Mine's Skyline R34GTR RHD Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V GSR RHD Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI RHD Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII HKS HiperMax RHD Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX MR Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X RHD Porsche Carrera GT (Zoqqer) Subaru Cusco Racecar RHD Subaru Legacy B4 GT RHD Just an FYI, I will not add any cars to this list where the modder tried to force some weird hacked "customized" camera on people that's only accessible with an auto-installer, to me that's just lazy modding.
  3. Brera Cockpit XJ220 Cockpit_Back XJ220 Hood AlfaGT Hood_Back Enzo IK
  4. Cams and IK for manual installers.... Ascari KZ1 Cockpit Edonis Cockpit_Back Edonis Hood Chevy SSR Hood_Back Default_Bike IK I tried the Farboud IK, but that resulted in flying seatbelts, and most of the other IK's had bad hand placement on the steering wheel, or also included flying seatbelts. And I found a weird bug that I've never seen before, the front wheel is out of round, but not the back, but it's NOT the rim model causing the problem. I did a manual install onto the Edonis slot because that's where I had one of the other Carrera GT's installed. Since the Edonis only uses one rim for both the front and back, that eliminates the rim model as the source of the bug so it has to be something in the car model. The steering wheel is also shifted slightly to the left, but that's just a nitpick and easily ignored as long as the gauges are centered.
  5. Usually the weight distribution is the number to mess with to control oversteering.
  6. The short redline problem is a bug in BTRQ file inside the main BNK for the car. The best way to fix it is to replace that BTRQ with the one from the default car you're replacing.
  7. Some of you take things FAR too seriously, you really need to look up the word facetious...... Facetious | Define Facetious at Dictionary.com
  8. Get yourself a USB controller adapter for a PS-2 controller, or get a wired XBox 360 controller. Look into the Trio Linker Plus II at Welcome to EMS Production Ltd (www.hkems.com) It allows PS-1, PS-2, GameCube, and Dreamcast controllers to be used on the PC, or the PS-3. I've used one for years on the PC and have never had a game made past 1999 that doesn't accept it. Older games don't like it because it's USB, but newer games are fine.
  9. That's in a tuned state, and I've seen RB26DETT engines making well in excess of 1200 horsepower (Top Secret R-33), so the 400-500hp rating is considered "beginner" status for Skyline tuners. Many experienced RB26DETT tuners can reach 400hp without changing any engine parts, it's all done electronically. But I believe this topic is about factory stock power ratings, which have never really been stuck at an actual 280hp. Do a little Googling on the "Gentlemen's Agreement" concerning the 280hp claims. It finally ended in 2004 when foreign cars imported into Japan weren't restricted in their HP claims so the self-imposed restriction on Japanese made cars was lifted. The early Gran Turismo games actually accounted for the discrepancies in horsepower claims and actual dyno numbers, when you viewed an R-32 or R-33 GTR at the dealership, it was 280hp, but when you "got it home" into your garage, the HP numbers rose quite significantly. The same went for Supra's, NSX's, and others. IIRC the R-33 GTR V-Spec II in Gran Turismo 1 went up to 320+hp once it was in your garage. American manufacturers used to do the same thing back in the 70's with the musclecars, the insurance companies were hitting people hard for the high horsepower ratings, so they either reduced the claimed horsepower, or resorted to de-tuning the engines, and the horsepower could be brought back up to maximum with very simple mods. One of them was in one of the Dodge cars, another 40hp could be added with a simple turn of a screw.
  10. The 280hp stock reading of most Japanese sports cars has never been totally accurate to begin with. Do a little research on that 280hp claim and you'll find out that if any car maker claims more than 280, they get hit with a massive government tax fine. So an R32 GTR with 300+ horsepower bog stock is not unrealistic at all, and for R34's it's been known to go as high as 350+ factory stock. Ultimately the top speed of any car is a combination of horsepower, aerodynamics, and gearing. One just has to do the math on the gearing to determine the theoretical top speed of the car.
  11. In case you missed it, this is a Right Hand Drive car, so the RHD camera is correct. Changing the camera to the left hand side will NOT move the steering wheel of the model, you'll be sitting in front of an empty dash.
  12. Is the image scrolling off the right side of the page ever going to be fixed in FireFox like it is for IE users??? It's seriously annoying not to be able to see the right half of all images, as well as not having access to any of the buttons on the right side of the page because of the broken scrolling.....
  13. Actually the tape line method IS 3D scanning, it's done fastest and easiest with a simple laser 3D scanner. The laser reads the intersection points and translates that into a rough but accurate primary 3D model. Doing it the way a real concept car is made by touching a robotically controlled caliper to each intersection of the tape lines would have cost millions of dollars for the equipment alone, not exactly something the Forza modelers (who are not indian by the way) can afford. And yes, they use the tape line method for every car in the game, their modelers have posted numerous pics on their official forums for quite a few of the cars each time they add something new. Without the tape lines and laser scans, the car doesn't make it into the game because their modelers are still the same untalented monkeys from the first game that's loaded down with MASSIVE smoothing errors and realism errors on every single car in the game. Oh and just an FYI, anybody making realism models from pictures and not from blueprints is doing it very very wrong. Any picture used will result in numerous scale problems and focal point/plane problems. It's proper scaled blueprints or nothing at all if you want true modeling accuracy. And certain sites that store blueprints for cars have some of those "blueprints" made from pictures, which is just as bad as using pictures. CAR blueprints / - 2011 SSC Ultimate Aero II Coupe blueprint Those were made from pictures of the car, can you see the focal point and focal plane problems??? The nose and tail views are the most telling. Those were made from pics taken about 2.5 to 3 feet up from ground level, and about 15 to 20 feet away. The focal point where the camera sits can dramatically change how a model turns out. If they put the camera 20 feet from the car, and 1 foot up, it will produce a very different result from a pic taken at ground level only 10 feet away or 50 feet away. There is no magic distance either, no single picture will ever be accurate to model a car with. For a side view "picture" to be accurate enough to model with, you would need a composite picture made up of hundreds of pictures, each one taken at one inch intervals, then spliced together into a single pic.
  14. You can do that by yourself just by renaming files and altering physics. Or you could just not use the cars you don't like.....
  15. For the TDUPK files, you need the TDUPE program. And you can change names of cars with TDUModding Tools 1.15, or with TDUPE.
  16. The images in released threads are still bugged in FireFox, they scroll off the right side of the screen, along with a decent number of buttons, the wider the image the more extreme the scroll.
  17. Actually what HF Garage did with the 3D lettering was extremely realistic, especially for USA car buyers. Whenever you buy a car in the USA, especially if you finance the car, the dealer puts their logo on the car, usually in chrome on the back bumper, so other drivers can see where the car came from. That's why I suggested doing the same thing, or using 3D lettering on a license plate bracket. If the lettering is in 3D polygons, and it's NOT textured, and the BNK file is locked, then all the casual thieves are blocked. It would take an experienced hacker to get the file unlocked, and to get the lettering deleted. The experienced ones obviously can't be stopped, but the majority of mod thieves out there are simply not that experienced when they're using pics with the original modder's names in the pic, leaving the core files of the installers untouched and unedited, and in many cases, leaving the name of the archive untouched which sometimes has the modder's name in the filename. Half the time they don't even delete the original ReadMe files, and in many cases they just hijack the original download link. The whole point of trying to protect a mod is to keep the casual little kids from taking your mod and reposting it on another site under their name. If you don't feel like protecting your mod, fine, so be it. But then you have no reason to complain when your mods get posted elsewhere, or worse, when someone tries to come back here and post it because they found it on a Russian site. Oh and just an FYI guys, it's more than just car mods being stolen, it's everything from modding tools, to car mods, to reflection mods, to seasonal mods like the fall and winter mods. It's ALL being stolen and reposted on Russian sites without permission with the original readme files either removed, or the original author of the mods edited out.
  18. Then you're not actually doing any work if you don't release it.
  19. The Bugatti Type 57 and the Facel Vega replace un-used car slots in TDU, the "default car" and the "default bike". There were only two of them. Other than those two slots, it is NOT currently possible to add cars to TDU without replacing an existing car. And IIRC, there's at least 3 or 4 different 240SX mods out there of varying quality levels.
  20. Perhaps it would be better if you read back through the topic and figured out WHY mods need to be protected. Why should some Russian thief get credit for something they didn't do??? To me, anybody that's against protecting mods is just as bad as the thieves themselves.
  21. It's already been done, twice.
  22. There's a bunch of ways to get a ton of money in this game, especially if you've unlocked the Chrysler ME-412 and are willing to use it to grind out some cash in short top speed runs over and over again. Or there's the vehicle delivery missions, they pay high to begin with, but do them perfectly without damaging the cars and there's a nice cash bonus tacked on.
  23. Banning someone from one forum for something they did on another forum is total garbage and should NOT be allowed for any reason.
  24. Defrag your harddrive, install the latest drivers for your videocard, and make sure you check the harddrive for any errors before the defrag. Make sure the only stuff running in the background before you start the game is stuff you actually need, turn off everything else. Also it might be time to open up your PC and blow everything off with a can of compressed air, especially the heatsinks on the CPU, the ram, and the videocard.
  25. There's already one Delorean made, but it's not very good. Your best bet would be to try to get permission to convert one of the Deloreans made for San Andreas.
