Completely uninstall the game (also delete /ProgramData/Test Drive Unlimited, any registry entries, and anything in your Application Data (or AppData) folder).

You're a bit confused as to the current state of jailbreak on 3.1. 3.1 is jailbroken for the usual devices (except the 2G/3G Touch, 3GS). MMS works fine for ALL iPhones (except the 2G, since it doesn't support it). Every usual jailbreak app or mod is working fine on 3.1.

No, it's not in any way illegal. It's not against any laws or anything like that. Apple just hates it when people do it for some stupid reason.

OR, you could just jailbreak and enable it that way. Quick and easy, and, you're jailbroken! Tons of the awesome jailbreak-only goodness. And Emoji isn't a glitch.

You're probably using a bad no-DVD EXE file (they always have those problems). You need to download the 1.66A patch (http://www.filefront.com/8070497/Test-Drive-Unlimited-v1.66A-Patch-Download/) and install it. If your'e avoiding using the DVD, use the mini-disc image to avoid online problems. You also still need a legit CD key.

Uninstall the game completely. Your profile won't be deleted. Install the game. Install the update. Enjoy. Also, make sure that you aren't using any of the No-DVD EXE files. Instead, use the original disc. [mod edit:] Discussion of warez or illegal activities is strictly prohibited, thanks!
