  1. Well if this thread was a poll, the DBS would be leading 5-0. That's funny because I prefer the Vantage's style (though I did have a few of these as my wallpaper for awhile). I guess I can't go wrong with either one.
  2. So basically they're the same car aside from some slight aesthetic differences? Yeah unfortunately the Vanquish is not a preorder bonus. :(
  3. So we have the option to preorder TDU2, but where we order determines what bonuses we get. I've already pretty much narrowed it down to being Amazon or Best Buy, but I honestly do not know the difference between these two Aston Martins: Aston Martin V12 Vantage Carbon Black (Amazon) Aston Martin DBS V12 Carbon Black (Best Buy) I've Googled around, looked at pictures, read the specs... they seem exactly identical. I figured I should just ask some fellow car enthusiasts what the differences are between them. So which one should I preorder, and why?
  4. Yeah that's true. I remember on the sides of the runway it was more like a "curb" than a runway (not sure what curbs are called in other countries). While they're at it, they might as well add some hit detection to the planes. I'm guessing they never thought anyone would make it in there...
  5. Yes! Actually paving the airport runways this time around, instead of it being nothing more than colored dirt would be awesome.
  6. Yes, there is a lot of good information in there that I hadn't yet seen. Besides "are there gas stations??!??!" the question I wanted answered is where can we walk around, and now that's been answered. A part of me wanted to be able to walk the whole island on foot (not that I would), but it's probably best that we can't. After all, it's not Test Walk Unlimited. Knowing that a new island is at least possible is definitely exciting. Burnout did it and had pretty good success with it, so I think it can definitely happen if the community wants it bad enough. Even a fairly small island would be pretty cool. I would never expect something as big as Oahu for DLC, and even Ibiza is pushing it.
  7. Trust me, they're not deactivated past 100 mph. That's how I was able to get so high on those jumps. They ARE inconsistent though, as you mentioned. I think the latency/ping between the two colliding players is a big factor in whether the cars collide or not. For instance, my brother and I both have a copy and play on the same connection, and can hit almost every time. But when trying it with other players, especially my friends from other countries, it's better for their cars to just sit still (I just don't go as far).
  8. That's fine by me, just as long as they make it in. In the first TDU bikes weren't available from the start either since you had to unlock them, so it's not too different in that respect (unless it takes months for them to bring out the bikes). Jumping cars can be done anywhere, but that was taken on the bridge going to Ford Island. Basically I would start at one end of the bridge and my buddy would start at the other end, and we'd both drive straight down the middle on the yellow line towards each other. When I start to see his car I lift the front wheel of the bike and I take off like a jet. With my bike going 200+ mph and his car also going 200+ mph, when I hit him it's equivalent to jumping a ramp at over 400 mph. :eek2: I don't think this gameplay element (if you want to even call it that) was intentional, but that's part of the appeal. I'm scared the new physics and handling engine won't let us jump anymore. :( Time will tell I guess.
  9. I just want to know if bikes can still make Evel Knievel jumps, hundreds of feet in the air. My friends and I have all wasted countless hours of our lives doing it, and then taking pictures of it as well. Examples taken from Xbox 360: "Realistic" or not, it was fun as hell. And at the end of the day, I play TDU because it's fun. If jumping isn't in, I'll be SEVERELY disappointed, as will my fellow dare devils. That's a huge gameplay element for many of us.
  10. Well I didn't know either, so thanks for posting it. I love how some people are so quick to jump in and say "repost!" without realizing that not everyone has the time to scour every post of every page of every thread. If you already know something, move on. What's the point of saying "I already knew that"? If this guy didn't post what you already knew, I wouldn't know myself. Well done, blackspider.
  11. If this is true then I'll actually be able to walk around all those houses on Oahu I bought. ;) I certainly hope it is.
  12. If I do it, I'll do it up the right way (the whole entire rim) and I don't really have time for that at the moment, but just wanted to share a quick and dirty way to get suitable rims as a temporary replacement.
  13. Although not perfect, I've found some rims that I think are temporarily suitable for this car. This is personally one of my all time favorite cars, so I wouldn't go for it unless it looked right. To do it, go into the Mercedes Rims folder, copy the file called "AMG11_F_01.bnk" and rename the copy to "CLS_55_F_01.bnk" (make backups of course) and it will give you these rims: The only thing it's missing are the BMW centercaps but that's not necessarily a deal breaker for me. They look 100x better than the other two options that you get, and are pretty close to the originals: http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m190/trainermegan/2001BMW740i001.jpg If somebody knows where there are the original rims for this car, please point me in the right direction. Thanks for this mod! It's a badass car.
