Nice Icy!! :) I tried to get some too (Southern Hem as well) but, well 18-55 kit lenses aren't the best for zoom capabilities haha. Prime lens this month then a zoom-y one is next

Wow that first one Kelv is sooo good!! Yeah you know how to master b+w pretttty amazingly haha This was the bushfires that went through my region two weeks ago. My house was saved twice and I was evacuated for 4 days which wasn't too fun... We were pretty lucky since my area was one of the worst effected places by the fires.. Scania, have a look on ebay for DSLR cameras. It sounds dodgy I know but it is actually very efficient , safe and you save a great deal of $$$ I just went on Ebay UK and you can get the 550D (Look at Tom722's camera in this thread) for roughly 420 pounds with the kit lens. Or you could get like GTA's 500D which will be a little bit less. There of course is always Nikon, Sony and Pentax to look at too! I got my 600D off Ebay and I saved roughly $600 from buying it in a store and it took 2 business days to come from Hong Kong to regional southern Aus so I was very impressed. Just a suggestion but since you have a pretty good budget, you can get a nice entry level DSLR easily :)

Wow, I actually thought that the leica and Pentax was yours for a second Icy haha :P Scaniabebe, what's your rough budget?? The lumix is meant to be awesome :) Also, for that price range look at the Canon Powershot or Nikon Coolpix Range. They are excellent. I just used a Canon Powershot SX30IS today and I loved the quality and ammmmaaazzzziiinnnnggg zoom!

Thanks :) Yeah I would have added a bit of contrast and 'blacks' (Lightroom) to it but that would be it.

Yeah true. I would have probably gone with the Nikon if it weren't for the lens issue. I used the D5100 in Perth Aus for a couple of hours and absolutely adored it. But since Canon lenses are cheaper, it's the way to go for me! :p Yeah exactly. I'm still probably a beginner photographer so I should probably just stick with a high-end beginners camera until I think I'm good enough to hit the semi pro range. And yeah once I buy the 50mm 1.8, new tripod, Canon bag and filters, it's going to be over $300 which puts it up towards the 60D 18/55 kit price range. Yeah :) It's just hard comparing the 600D to the 60D because they are seperate classes. But yeah the 600D looks more appealing to what I want.
