This one sounds a bit muffled due to the audio source (recording level is very low). It may not sound loud enough but the volume is at the maximum and there is already a slight distortion. As I don't have any better material for this car right now, take it as it is! Beside this, I found it cool enough to cruise with (thanks Radikal-sr8 for the file). Original recording : Sound mod (this is the beta, release has little modifications) : Download : http://www.mediafire.com/?2jdaoiikp540abe Thanks for your comments.

released Doctor G - Ferrari 599 sound mod
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
I use the defaut car and physics so I cannot help. Do you mean that the modded car is designed to reach those 8400 rpm's which means that everyone using this mod has this issue? Or is it just a problem due to your personal settings? -
Yes I confirm that, plus you have 2 more samples for the idle and startup sounds. Though, some bnk (file where all the samples of one car are regrouped) have a different configuration, sometimes with just 6 samples in it (no low), 10 samples in it (very low added), there are some with a horn sample added and some with no idle sound in it etc. You have to use, combined with MAGIC MAP by Djey, the excellent TDU MODDING TOOLS by Djey too. With its internal browser, choose a bnk file in TDU/Euro/Bnk/sound/Vehicules so you can see, extract or replace its content (always use the TDU sound defaut format, Microsoft ADPCM 44,100 Khz 4 bits mono). Also, keep in mind that a bnk has a maximum size of 766 Kb exactly, so stay under this fatal size ; I didn't knew that for ages and I was restarting TDU everytime the size didn't fit and that the sound went silent, which happened zillions times :(((( But hey, this is about TDU, it has one of the worst sound format you can imagine (but is ideal to learn because of its simplicity) and a much better reference for engine sounds is GT LEGENDS for example, which uses 16 bit stereo (that helps...) state of the art samples (the basics are still the same but you have more samples per car so the sound is more rich and realistic).

released Doctor G - Caterham R500 sound - UPDATED MARCH 24
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
I understand what you mean, the default sound of the caterham is so bad that you will refrain to use it, even if you like the car for other reasons. I'm like that too, if the sound isn't good, I will not use a lot a car that I like and at the opposite I will drive another car that I don't like if I prefer its sound. Sound is what gives a large part of the adrenaline in a racing game, now let's just hope that they use a better format in TDU2 (16 bits stereo engine sounds, please?) And by the way, nobody thinks that the sound volume should be increased? -
I know this is the sound you've ALL been waiting for... No! You are not dreaming! The cutest Ferrari ever has finally a decent sound to cruise with! Alleluia!!! Really low-fi I have to admit, but I still like it as it is, with all the little imperfections and I hope you will like it too. Original video (starts at 4.31) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFx4wOrdIqM Sound mod : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omc5PJXfSkI Download : http://www.filefront.com/17152917/Ferrari-Dino-246-GTS-TDU-sound-mod-by-Doctor-G.zip/ Also, I have this beta version, with a different "offmid" loop (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUwnNR02JYQ), where you can hear the crackles of the wind in the mike. I really liked it this way but thougt it was better to remove it in a final version (this sample was a bit too short anyway) where you are not supposed to hear things like that! What do you think? Note : I'm not too sure about the pitch, the guy don't go fast enough in that video and so the pitch is pretty low, but in some other videos I've seen it goes much higher than this, so I made a compromise. If you have any clue please tell me! Thanks for your comments!

released Doctor G - Ferrari 599 sound mod
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
As a matter of fact the volume is not too low after all, false alert phew!! Thanks all for your feedback!! -
Thanks. Well I wasn't thinking about this but at some parasites noises with very low frequences on certain samples. I think the problem you talk about is the transition between "onlow" and "onmid" but it is totally due to the nature of the samples I've used, they don't fit together very well I must say, that is something I shall fix if i have the courage :p I think you also refer to this onlow/onmid transition that is not really perfect. Thanks for these comments! EDIT : Thanks, the link works here though.

Too much parasites and the engine volume is too low :( No :(( I think the recording is bad :((( I don't know really, it's the kind of recording that sounds nice but when converted for TDU it's just so-so. I've already tried it some time ago and failed to do something good with it, but I was kinda begining then so maybe I could give it another try now... I'll post the result here if I succeed.

released Doctor G - Ferrari 599 sound mod
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
Thanks man! About the sound volume, you are right, it is too low. But in my samples the volume is already above the maximum and if I continue to amplify it I get too much distortion, so I don't know what to do. Looks like some bnk's have a lower volume than others, like this one, i'm not too sure about that. Maybe there is another bnk that have a better sound volume that I could use but i didn't take the time to search, if someone has a clue I'll try to do a second version (the horn of the cars must be the same). -
Another weird sound, made by request... Original recording (thanks paul9444) : Sound mod : Download : http://www.mediafire.com/?n5s4kwbpk0fp203 Thanks for feedback.

Made by request for Kurgan777 (see this thread : http://forum.turboduck.net/showthread.php?t=17142&page=2). Uses the Aston martin DB4 slot. Thanks to TDUFREAK500 for the idle sound video (and btw the startup sound comes from a GT Legends sound mod but it's not a real KPGC10 sound, I couldn't find one). One last thing : it's a bit fuzzy, maybe, with a lot of efforts, I could make a better version, depends the feedback... Original video : Sound mod : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDqF61emno0 Download : http://www.mediafire.com/?3evjjbsgovv5sr5 Thanks for feedback!

released Doctor G - Dodge Challenger RT sound mod (Hemi engine)

Thanks for these enlightments! I must say i know almost nothing about real engines (I don't even have my driver license) and my knowledge is limited to engine sounds in video games :s -
released Doctor G - Chevrolet Corvette Z06R sound mod
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
Unfortunatly it cannot be as agressive as in the video, which is in stereo and has an infinity of little sound details that you cannot reproduce with 6 small 4 bits mono samples whatever you do. -
Is there a way to get another windowed resolution than 1280x720, like 1920x1080 for example? (Sorry if the question has already been asked, I have not the time and courage to read the 46 previous pages :D).

released Doctor G - Dodge Challenger RT sound mod (Hemi engine)
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
Thanks for your comments guys it's really helpful! So, about this rpm story, do you think I shall make a lower pitched version for the Challenger? Because except the sounds I don't modify anything in that game (redline, ignition time etc.). -

EDIT : KPGC10 sound mod released here : http://forum.turboduck.net/showthread.php?p=331949#post331949

Corvette stingray 69 beta sound mod
Doctor G. replied to letunneurs's topic in Car Customization Mods
The general volume is too low and I would say it's not high pitched enough. Also, some samples need to be cleaned ("clac" problem when looping) and some transitions should be adjusted (example : transition between mid and hig isn't good, the high shall be more high pitched). Other than that these samples are nice and it is a good sound. -

Thanks. About the onhigh I'm not sure it's too high pitched, just because it sounds exactly like in the video, same tonality at max rpm don't you think? -
Doctor G - BETA SOUND MODS (NEW: SLR, BRM V16)
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
Thanks you too!! Yes you must be right, I must have been depressed when I wrote that, feel better now :p About the Vette sound I'm working on it but I doubt that the final result (if it happens) will be much different :((( Thanks for your support!
