Hi, I don't like to bother everybody with car mod requests (even though I did) ; and though I'm not totally sure if I'm 100% serious about this, but I might want to attempt something myself. For somebody whose modding skills next to nothing what (free) software and tools would I need to make a car model, as well as textures ? And how on earth would I go about it ? I imagine the 3D modelling might just be time consuming, but I can see textures being quite difficult... I don't want to waste too much of anybody's time, I'm curious to give it a go but I also might end up giving up halfway through if it turns out to be too difficult for me...

Again, thanks ! I'm hoping they might motivate somebody to make one or more of these cars :)

Nice idea, and well made mod, but personally I'd have very much preferred the original car instead of this tuned version. There again I've grown up around these cars so to me it's like 'car blasphemy' lol

Hi, I'm having some difficulty installing this.... "current patch can't be installed: patch was not applied as a critical error occured. Please contact modding tools support". I'm getting this message for both the Bugatti and the Facel Vega, unfortunately (I'll only post once to save repeating the message in both forums) I have the 1.66a version of TDU, with the megapack, and the 1.67 patch yet still, neither of them will install (before or after I installed the 1.67 patch) Any help will be appreciated :) Dan

Hi, I'm no good at modding, and can't do much more than install and use mods, unfortunately. I wouldn't bother you if I could do it myself. Sure, I could come up with an annoyingly long list of cars but I'm aware of the time and work it takes you guys to make these models so I'll keep it short :) Also, I would really appreciate it if somebody would make these - or even just one; maybe somebody else could do another. No work should be done for free, and I believe in one good turn deserves another; so even though I wouldn't be able to make you a mod or something in return, maybe there's some other way I could say thanks. I'm pretty good at drawing, maybe I could make a drawing of a car you like to say thanks. Just an idea. Here are 2 examples of my work: - - There's nothing special about these cars, they just have personal value to me and I'd love to be able to use them in the game. Colour isn't so much of a problem seeing as I take it they'll all be paintable in the colour I like at the paint shop (?). I'll try and give as many details as necessary. All three right hand drive if possible. - Bentley 3 Litre : I'm sure I could get my dad into playing video games if he could drive his 1923 bentley in them. I agree that it'd be great to see a model of this in the game. In my opinion it's one of the best lamborghini designs there ever was - though if you look it up there are many concept ideas they had during the late 80s/early 90s that were equally nice, that also sadly never made it. I'm actually in the process of building a huge 1/3 scale model of the Cala out of Lego.... (as you do lol) There are a few build diaries posted, this one being the coolest as it also includes my cat - http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/135106 Again, all support given for anybody who makes a model for this in TDU. I unfortunately can't remember where but I remember seeing on a completely unrelated forum, somebody had made a fairly detailed 3D model of the cala (computer model that is not lego) ... I'm not sure if that was intended for a game or not... Aw, dude... so I find 10 posts I can add some not-so-useless content to, and then it still doesn't let me post in the mod forums. ...

Before all else this problem is solved. Just in case anybody else has this maybe this might help... I'm using vista if that's relevant. I loved playing this game. Installed it on my laptop, with the magepack, played fine. One day it started crashing, out of the blue. I only play single-player mode, yet whenever I entered a race, or pressed the map, I would get a "server connection was lost" type message, and the game would just exit to windows. I looked all over google, tried various things, uninstalled all, reinstalled, tried a different savegame all to the same effect. So I just gave up and played something else. That was a few months ago. I tried again today. Same problem. Another fruitless google search. Then I try again, and all of a sudden - despite not doing it the last 30 times I'd tried, windows firewall asks me if I want to unblock the connection for TDU and ... it all works perfectly as it did before. That's a very strange, random solution to a problem and I have no idea what initially caused it or why it didn't let me fix it sooner... sure lost out on some game time there, I'd forgotten half the cars I had :) Dan

Hi, A couple of years back I modified my best friend's X360 ... He saw my Kellogg's Frosties Xbox, and having recently discovered Pickle at the time we came up with the idea if 'pickling' his xbox. Here's how it came out :) NSFW P.S. How to fix a red ring: We were playing this once - before it got painted (though that's not very relevant) , and it red-ringed on us. My friend was like "oh no way do you do that to me!" , he bashed it, the ring went green again and it's worked fine ever since...if in doubt, give it a clout. I'm not saying this will work for everybody of course lol... though it was quite funn when it happened ... the last thing we expected was for it to work again. That's alright... I've found some forums to add some input in. Sure the main reason I might be here is for a mod request or two, but unlike many kids who would just add a million requests without thinking of the time and work it takes people to make them; I would of course offer something in return - it's not nice not to. If only I were good with 3D software myself I wouldn't bother anybody :) On the other hand I am pretty good with 2D stuff - drawing. Maybe if anybody is interested I could make them a drawing to say thanks in return for making a 3D model for me. I love nintendo. my first console was a gameboy when I was a kid. Then I helped my parents out with lots of jobs around the house and garden and earnt myself a gameboy colour. Later on when I was about 11/12 I saved up for the gameboy advance. I loved them all. Some poeple say you 'waste' hours on these things but if those hours were fun and made you happy that's not wasted time in my eyes. More recently I've been collecting all sorts of games an consoles (now over 20 consoles and over 650 games lol) ; and for the nintendo side, the NES, SNES, N64 and Gamecube are all amazing. No wonder they're such a big name. The gamecube has the most comfortable controller of any console. Then came the wii. and the DS. And with it, nintendo's loss of some hardcore fans. Come on, it's all aimed at kids and , apparently, grown-ups if they're watching the adverts that tell them they need it. Games aren't games but useless compilations of mini-games. What happened to real games ? Proper, good long games with story lines ? Not all these kiddy-ish mini-games (with terribly bad graphics for this day and age) Unless nintendo's going to go back to what they were, I'm sticking with the PC. Old games are still cool :) I'm often playing on the old nintendos... Dan

Plenty of cool cars out there. Lots of very cool cars. Still quite a few 'WOW' cars. Hard to pick one favourite. Especially when i's hard to compare between eras. I love old elegant 30s sports cars; as well as 50s and 60s american cars (especially the retro space-age ones) ; as for recent cars... not so much. Regardless of performance or value or what most people think, I just don't think a great deal of many modern cars. They're too angled. The designs aren't particularly attractive (to me anyway) and let's not forget the fact that despite what the salesman says, new cars are far less reliable than old ones. It's all electronic, lots to go wrong, and big bills when they do. I'm not saying all new cars are bad and ugly - not at all. i just prefer older ones. Sure, new lambos are pretty cool. But you go to the schlumpf museum, walk around, come back out and tell me that new cars look good after seeing that lot. The exception being TVR :) OK they're likely to kill you, notorious for expensive engine rebuilds (ahem - 10-20 year old ferraris and lamborghinis are nothing but breakdowns and bills aswell...) but TVR are like design rebels... they don't go with the flow, they just make their own designs which look awesome. Nice curvy shapes packing supercar power underneath.... all for a fraction of the price of any other car that fast. For recent cars there's no doubt TVR are my favourite :) All this is just an opinion - if you love new lambos etc that's fine you don't need to take what I say to heart, it's only one point of view :) Dan

I think the best thing they could do regarding graphics is, of course improve them. Computer games advance very rapidly these days, and already just 3 years down the line and we're capable of considerably better graphics. On the other hand it's very important that the lower setting graphics options are still there so that we don't need to buy a new computer to run it, and could play it in whatever setting we were comfortable with the in first TDU. There again thougn they're important, graphics aren't everything. If the game's going to be just as good I'll be happy playing it in the same graphics level as the first.

For a personal opinion, here's what I'd suggest... -Don't get rid of any cars. Just add more. - All styles - everybody has different taste and by offering a wide® variety the game will appeal to more people. - It's a shame that certain big brands weren't included. Maybe it would be possible to get licensing and have cars such as BMW, Porsche, Bentley, Peugeot, Citroen, Honda, etc etc... - Just an idea - but how about adding vintage 20s/30s cars ? Offhand I can't think of any game that has them - especially no recent game. There are many nice cars from that era; both the elegant 30s cabriolets (ex. Delahaye) and 20s racers (ex. Bentley) ... It would be different, but nice to have the option to drive such cars in a game. TDU is more... 'relaxed' and not as arcade-like as game such as the need for speed series, so it could work. - TVR Speed 12. You just have to. If that car's in the game, I'm buying it just for that lol. Dan
