  1. I don't think we should ask for an animation of the driver picking his nose while parked outside the club, but definitely License Plates aren't asking for much, actually we shouldn't have to ask at all, because its such an obvious thing that really adds realism to the game.I think its kind of a ridiculous letdown, the fact that they don't have Real and Editable license plates in TDU2. Personaly... I just can't think of a better game to have this feature:cheeky:
  2. I don't think cosmetic surgeries and such, shouldn't be in the game as something secondary, just a bunch of miscellaneous features. However I must say that they put too much effort and time into features that aren't that important. Only about 1 in every 3 TDU2 videos talk about cars, and TDU2 is a "car driving game" after all. Clearly, lots of important parts of the driving experience have somehow failed to deliver what fans wished for, specially in the car list, engine sounds and physics departments, at least it seems so. That is why I think its even kind of offensive to the fans, to be so focused on something that people didn't really asked for. Either they are trying to avoid the matters of driving or they got the wrong idea of what fans wanted when they set their priorities in the game development. I think they could have spent that effort and time on working in every detail of driving, like making an animation for accelerating and braking, changing radio station, turning on/off air conditioner etc... Personaly I'd like it best if you could do a cosmetic surgery to your car via changing body parts than actually changing the appearance of my character.:cheeky:
  3. I think they already have the cars modelled and ready to go, they just wanted to stretch the money to the max on DLCs. Why would you launch a game with 175 cars for 49.99$ (for example) instead of releasing one with 101 cars for the same price but with 7+ DLC packs each for 7.99$? I don't think this is true, and furthermore I have no proof, but I wouldn't be surprised, since this game is not like DiRT or NFS, games that every kind of people buy. TDU is a game that is all about fans that loved the first one, they know the game won't sell much, so, in order to be able to make some extra money they will release a massive amount of DLCs. I will pay for them, unless they are too "stretched" like Car Packs with 4 different versions of existing cars and a single new car. I want to see to it that EDEN can make a TDU3. A project this huge and ambitious deserves to be funded. Specially since bigger companies waste so much money on crap. TDU rocks!!!
  4. I really hope these cars make it into the game via DLC. I think they have to release plenty of DLCs to make up for the shortage of cars in the final list. I am not hoping for new manufacturers, I am hoping they will get the most out of the existing licenses, 'cause some of them like Nissan, Lancia, Subaru, Citröen, Ford and Chevrolet are really short on cars in TDU2. I just hope they don't release DLCs with 1 or 2 interesting cars and the rest filled by Pagani Zondas and Veyrons with different paints:D, so they can stretch the money to the max. I want DLCs to actually have 5 to 10 new cars each and a MEGA DLC with lots of bikes and cars. I don't want these kinds of DLC packs: -Pagani Zonda Whatever -Bugatti Veyron Whatever -Audi R8 Whatever -Chevrolet Camaro Whatever -FERRARI F50 This is just robbery!
  5. Nice to see someone still enjoys a good old single player mode!
  6. Yeah, I really liked the single player in TDU, and it was a really refreshing game compared to all other closed track racing games. But I have feeling there is not so much single player in TDU2. Which is cool for most players who enjoy driving online, but bad for those who enjoy the old single player experience. That whole thing about club exclusive cars just makes me puke, specially since the car list is not that big, and plus about 10 cars of the final car list are pre-order specials, I think those cars shouldn't even be there but thats not important. I feel sad, for example, as an architecture fan, that games like Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, design maps like Pienza and Mont Saint Michel just for multiplayer. A mode where you can't even get the most out of the surroundings. Personaly I wouldn't sacrifice a rewarding and immersive single player experience like for example Fallout New Vegas for a any game's multiplayer mode. But I guess that is just me.
  7. I think multiplayer is taking over videogames, and its not helping at all for the overall quality. I know socialization and playing online is important and fun, but I think its compromising the final quality of most games. Personaly I think its more important to have a solid and realistic experience than to grow a big ego just because I won a race against someone online. I know TDU is all about multiplayer, and TDU2 more than ever! But I really have the feeling that the multiplayer compromised the overall quality of the game, I think programmers are forgetting about the old single player. Its really much easier to put lots of people trying to build self confidence online by winning races against strangers than actually produce a great single player experience. I think its a pity that a game so ambitious, so big and so full of possibilities is just turned to waste because of a mode that just needs a bunch of guys with low self esteem trying to prove themselves by achieving greatness at videogames. Where is the balance beetween modes? I guess in the next generation of consoles games won't even have single player, and its a lot easier. A multiplayer game just needs to have working controls and graphics and a theme that can get someone to achieve something they can show around and boast about. Single Player really needs immersion, atmosphere and imagination and I guess those are fields that are getting more and more shortcomings. I think TDU is not a MOOR, its MFGTDMM (Massively flawed game that disguises itself with Multiplayer Modes). The truth is: "When you are close to winning a race against your biggest online rival, you don't care if the engine sounds, sound like cars or farts, you just wanna win, you don't care if you are driving at 180mph and it seems like you are going a lot slower the only that matters is that you can cross the line in 1st place so you get a big smile and sleep better to boast about your achievements in the morning!" If you all tell me you play online for the fun and not for the ego boosts, than you are a bunch of liars!:D Them' programmers really hit jackpot when they found out that some people have to do their socialization and get their self esteem from doing great at videogames! :chewy: I'm gonna beat your ass with my fictional Ferrari:chewy: I wanna play this game cause I wanna pretend like I am a big shot that can drive super sports cars at high speeds, Because I know I won't get to drive my favourite cars and specially drive them at 180mph in the highway, this is my reason, and I am neither proud or ashamed of it, what are your reasons to play this game?
  8. I think its nice to be able to personalize your car, specially to change interior colours :D. I hope they still kept the tuning. I also think they could add some some subtle body part customization, just to add some originality to each car:thumbsup:
  9. I wouldn't care if the pedestrians had bad textures and all, I really think its a feature they could think of for the next TDU, and of course the traffic option (None, Low, Normal, High). I would also like if they kept Ibiza for the next game, it seems like the perfect location, it has desert and forest, sea and mountain, modern cities and old villages, highways and narrow streets, it was a wise choice.:D
  10. I know EDEN doesn't have that much money or resources, specially compared to Polyphony or EA. That is why I loved TDU in the first place, its amazing to see such a small company aim towards a project more ambitious than the ones from the big shots. I haven't complained about them losing Maserati or Lamborghini because I know its not their fault, I also know that with the money and resources they have, they still deliver a great game, better than most other racing games, maybe the best at some points. However its frustrating to see that some important points of the game are still really bad. I mean, the unreal engine sounds, the sense of speed and the low traffic. Its so difficult to cope with the fact that my favourite racing game can't nail it at some of the most important points in a racing game. You must understand that a game this big and this different makes us wonder how far it could go and how real it could be. I also understand that its annoying for someone who is actually happy with the game, to have to read complains over and over, that don't change anything but our own idea of what the game could have been. I would be very happy if the game had more traffic to add up to the atmosphere and make cruising around more fun. I would like the engine sounds and sense of speed to be better and of course much more cars via DLCs. I am not asking for sim like physics and a 1000 cars, I just want the game to look and feel more realistic. Hey, I'm gonna buy the game anyway, I just complain because I wish things were better. I assure EDEN I will pay for every TDU, cause its a project worth paying for.
  11. Everyone has different approaches towards what videogames should be. Personally, and specially in the genre of racing I think the goal should be to get everything as close to reality as possible. When I write a post, I normally divide everything into various sentences so it can be easier to comment on. Naturally, I expect people to say what they think about I write, for example "I think the engine sounds are bad!" (reply - I don't think so, some seem very real, they tried various ways of bla bla bla...). But what normally happens, not only here but in every forum, is that because of the fact no one is talking face to face, people tend towards mocking and telling to shut up and sending subjects to various places I shall not pronounce. I am not asking for anyone to agree with me, just THINK before you write! I admit I am quite aggressive and that some calmer and more conformist people think I am happy with nothing. The point being, I am asking for everybody to just comment if you have anything objective and constructive to say. I am not an expert in programming, not even close, but I think I still have the right, as a fan and a buyer, to share my opinions and criticisms, as this forum is to me, the closest thing I have to talking with an actual EDEN programmer. At least I hope someone is actually reading what we, fans, write. I want to end my post with some words for those who think I exaggerate in my pursuit for realism. I think we must always aim for best possible, that way we can achieve something greater. If everyone thought little, we would still be cavemen trying to figure out what is that bright and hot thing that happens when a lighting hits a tree.
  12. Well, I am very sorry if I have annoyed you with my comments. You like to blind yourselves to think everything is perfect, so you won't get disappointed. You don't want to be playing the game thinking about what it could have been, you want to be conformist. This is what we have, this is what we will like! Players like to lie to themselves so they don't think of the possibilities. No one is angry at the car list no more, even I, have already said to myself that the car list is nice. They know people like the general idea of the game, they know that when we like something from the beginning its very hard to let go, so they just give whatever they want and we will all end up buying. They have spend 4 years programming, and the same problems continue there. There are a few cars more than the first one had, the engine sounds are still synthesised and crappy, the physics are poor, there is no sense of speed, there is very low traffic, the characters still look weird like made of wax or something. But you know what, I am gonna buy the game either way, cause I am just like everyone else. We all end up seeing the best out of a bad picture. The thing is, they know it, and they keep playing with the fans, cause they know we will buy the game even if there are only 29 cars and they sound like farts. This is the reason I am so angry, things can be better, they always can.
  13. Look I know what High School is like, but that is no reason to just tell me to shut up every time I write something, if you don't like my ideas or complains, keep it to yourself. The time you spend telling me to shut up could be time you would spend resting. Second, I am not a big boy, I have finished college 2 years ago, but unfortunately in Portugal you finish college to go work in stupid jobs that have nothing to do with the things you studied for 4 years in the University. its natural to get angry when someone doesn't have the same points of view, but one thing is to explain why you disagree and share your point of view, other thing is to act childishly and just tell someone to shut up and complain that one is too tired to have to read my whinings. I don't want to discuss these matters anymore, I am just asking you to be more polite and objective. Good Luck with your studying!
  14. MAN, INSANE CAMP, REALLY??? I think you are the only SANE man here!!!
  15. I understand if an RPG or Platformer doesn't aim for reality, but racing games have been aiming for reality and that is the desire of the car fans, better graphics, sounds and physics that seem real. I completely understand you but I guess this is the kind of game that lets you do things you wish were real, and even the producers aimed for more realism, I think racing games should aim to be as real as possible, at least some, I wish TDU were one of them.:p Of course, this is my personal opinion:thumbsup:
  16. Man, one of the reasons forums are made, is for people to comment on the flaws they think the games have, so people can share their ideas and make games better and closer to what the community desires. First off, I like the game, I LOVE the game, that is why I spend so much time in this forum. If you don't like what I say, you are the one who has to shut up, because most of my posts are complains about something, but it seems most of yours are about shutting up people and I think that is not, very important at all. If anyone is to shut me up, its gonna be the administrator when I brake any rule, not you. So if you are so tired after school, go sleep, cause no one is throwing my posts at your face, you open them and read them because you want to. I work all day to win 500€ at the end of the month, and videogames in my country cost 69.99€ at release, so the next time just shut up someone instead of complaining about being tired, cause you don't know what that is. Its just not so easy to buy a game, even when you like it, when it costs a fifth of your salary, so you just go back to your happy little school and I go back to paying bills and taxes ok?
  17. I don't understand why no one in gaming business has ever noticed that cars drift a bit and the tyres screech a lot when you accelerate from 0 to ..., I don't know how to explain, it just seems that the cars act too soft in video games. Cars are aggressive, powerfull even scary, I only get that feeling from NFS Shift, but Shift sucks, I don't wanna cruise around in a closed track:D So I really hoped TDU2 could bring the emotion of driving to the real roads. Lets face it, most of us in this forum (at least I think) can't afford super sports cars, so driving around in TDU is perhaps the closest thing will get from being that stupid rich guy who has a Ferrari but can't even drive it properly. That is why I expect so much from this game, its the only game that lets you get close to a reality that exists but isn't at our reach. Sorry, If I am too agressive some times, but c'mon, Sense of Speed, Engine Sounds and lots of traffic for crazy maneuvers are the most important things in this game I guess.
  18. Yes, the tyres screeching sound is not really bad, specially comparing to GT5's, I guess polyphony still uses the same sound they did in Gran Turismo 1. EDEN PLEASE MAKE IT SOUND LIKE THIS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfF1Fzx8tmA:cry:
  19. This is basically a thread pointing out these aspects, that were made very clear from the footage we've seen: -Why do the characters seem to be Wax Sculptures rather than human beings? (not really important though) -I know its a dream, but why is there a party going on a 6pm where a bunch of multiracial characters are standing there dancing like freaks, not talking with each other, not drinking, ...? (not really important) -Why do we hear a beautifull roaring sound coming from the Ferrari California in the cutscene, and then in the actual gameplay its a low and synthetic sound just like the ones from TDU1? -Why is it that the character is driving a convertible at 130 mph and there is no wind sound, don't they know that there is something in nature called wind, and that when you drive at high speeds in a convertible the only thing you can actually hear clearly is the wind blowing? ( ) Not a great example though :o -Why are the braking sound (tyres screeching etc...) so bad in EVERY videogame? -Why does it seems like the engine is having a seizure whenever there is a jump? Yes, the engine sound in the jumps seems like a robot having a seizure! -Why does it seem like one is always driving at 30 mph? Where is the sense of speed, where is the sense of acceleration, of braking, of changing gears...? -Does EDEN think that Ibiza only has 50 people as its population? Judging by the ammount of traffic on the roads it seems it may be true? What about a traffic option like (Off, Low, Normal, High)? -Again, its just exaggerated, man, you are driving through Ibiza's main streets and there is 1 or 2 cars every mile or so??? IN THREE MILES (from the hotel to Solar Crown) YOU SEE EXACTLY 10 CARS, 10 CARS ON THE STREETS???? -Does anyone share the feeling that there should be people on the streets, esplanadas and beaches, even if they were just for show, something like Midnight Club. Really it would add to the athmosphere. In TDU, Ibiza seems like it was attacked by Zombies or something. Ibiza is all about people shopping, partying and going to the beaches during the afternoon.
  20. (referring to first page ideas) If someone put that into TDU2, I think I would die from starvation because I was always playing the game. :thumbsup:GREATTTTTTT IDEASSSSSS!!!!!!!
  21. Factornews - A fond dans la déconne mais pas trop The guy doesn't like the game at all, one can see that. The sense of speed is definitely an issue and the handling doesn't seem to suit all people. I hope they kept the Shake Camera and Blur Effect for the sense of speed and maybe some traction control, stability, brakes etc... options to adjust the handling. Hopefully it isn't going to be so bad as it seemed in the Beta! I guess they could add some NFS Shift style aggressivity to the driving, it wouldn't hurt!:) I don't wanna get asleep while driving on TDU2.:D
  22. Look, I was just asking if that was a sound from the game or a mod or something cause it seemed very different from all the other engine sounds in the game. There is no need to joke.:sulk:
  23. Man I really hope Eden listens to us in this forum. It would be such a waste not to get the most out of the offroad feature. Lancia Delta D4, Delta 037, Toyota Celica, etc... Plus new SUV's (RUF Dakara, Range Rover Defender.) Audi Quattro, Citröen C4, Ford Focus RS, Escort Cosworth... you name it!
  24. What is this video, It seems the car sound is very different from all others. Is this some kind of mod or something? Man, the kommentiertes video is awesome, it really seems to have some improvements. The Offroad seems to be more bumpy and real:thumbsup: the night racing is amazing, too bad those guys wouldn't let us hear the engine sounds, their voice is kind of annoying. I hadn't seen that video and I really liked it, still I have a few doubts. The engine sounds (again) don't seem to be good and the sense of speed is awfull. I hope they kept the SHAKE CAMERA and BLUR EFFECT.
  25. I don't want to insist on it, but its kind of a very bad joke. We all know that the engine sounds are a major issue in every single game, not any game to the time has mastered the engine sounds. So I am just looking for this answer, Why would they use a real sound in the cutscene? Its that like Oh, forgive us but that's how bad our engine sounds are compared to the real ones. I'm sorry but it kind of ruins the whole video, when I heard the sound of the Ferrari California in the cutscene I was like "Oh My God, What is this, the guys really have done it!" but then they let you in on the real "gameplay" sound and its a major disappointement, the engine sound is very very bad, it has no roar, no nothing, its just low and synthesised. :-x For example the Audi R8 sound seemed a lot closer to reality, but the Ferrari California one is just very bad, you can see for yourself in a video or something. C'mon its a convertible and there is even no wind sound, everyone who ever drove a convertible knows that at top speeds, really, 50% of the sound is wind. In TDU when you open the window you hear no wind, the car doesn't shake, there are no visual effect for the speed, the sound of the gears changing is very unreal too. I don't know what to say, I just wished it would be better, 4 years of development later. Ferrari California Sound:
