  1. I agree. When the reviewer said "GTA4 was better for driving around on an open map". I knew the whole review was biased BS. GTA4, to my knowledge has terrible physics. vehicles only go about half the real speed, stop on a dime, and have no cockpit view.
  2. The physics is the first big let down. The off road experience is a huge disappointment. Remember those first artist conceptions? TDU1 was an adventure. TDU2 added weather, night, slightly improved graphics and another island. What happened to all the things you could discover to make money. Like car delivery, smuggling, etc. While it's still fun to take a drive. It's lost most of it's charm and adventure. You can't just drive around and discover opportunities or challenges to make money. The arcade physics being the biggest limitation. Unfinished stuff like, poor clutch support, no trackIR support, maybe some one should make a list of all the deleted features?
  3. You proved it can be moded! Great. Now would you add herds of animated animals and the occasional deer, dog etc. Running across the road or in the fields. Also population, even not animated. Or maybe some animated surfers.
  4. Why would the combined brake and accelerator stop the use of the brake? If you unchecked the "game over-ride" button in the profiler. Does the game still combine them? The brake works for me. I have the game over ride button checked. I'm using Windows XP. I haven't noticed that they are combined. But maybe they are. It just causes the engine to de-accelerate, right? I was also part of the "net-code beta team". FF always worked for me? The beta changed versions many times with no effect on FF! I'm using Windows XP 64 bit. Now. But I did the beta on Windows 7 64 bit. Seems very strange. Maybe you should reinstall profiler from wingman site? Definitely sounds like a problem with some systems. So Eden would need a "diagnostic", from you system to address it. Other wise you will have to figure it out your self. Also maybe ask on the Wingman forum. And look at some of their down loadable tools. Make sure you have the "spring effect strength" ON, in the profiler. That isn't fake. The "centering spring strenth" is the fake one. Don't check it's box.
  5. If I remember all those old wheels unusal behaviors. You might try and unplug your wheel and then replug it back in while the game is running. Also try it after Windows has started up. Then see if the game finds it.
  6. I have a G25 and it's working great. Others have said the same! Check the "Logitech Profiler", (do you even have it installed?). Make sure the FF is turned up to 150% in the options/Global Device Settings. I have the "spring effect" at 65%, The "Damper Effect Strength" at zero. Turn off enable Spring. Off "report combined pedals". Check "allow game to adjust Settings." On the TDU2 controller game menu. Turn the first three wheel settings up about half. Turn break linerati up about half also. Works great. Oh, also turn the "vibration" down quite a bit.
  7. I haven't tried the AstonMartin yet. But consider this. "The game drives great on my G25. I just don't know what is wrong with people who think this game is "uncontrollable". I think for them "hardcore" is probably too hard of physics. Consider the "sim racer guy" who's many videos were shown here. He said he couldn't drive the VW, because it had to much under-steer. So he had a hard time winning that championship. I learned right away, by using the (hand brake) the VW would slide around the corners beautifully, controllably, but not so controllable that it doesn't take effort. The FF and handling feels great in all the cars I've tried so far, on (hard core). You just have to learn how to drive, and many men to not like to admit it doesn't come natural to them!
  8. Same here. Both messages, "Unknown error", or "servers not available". So this game can't be played off-line? I haven't looked at the book yet. Thread on TDU2 forum about this. unknown error:logout ??? - Test Drive Unlimited 2 Forums
