1. Well, time to tame the beast I guess! Tried the Agera once I believe, and that went as good as with all the formula cars... Rolling for it if I got time this week, not sure though if I can beat it, the track is not my piece of cake, and neither is the car. But who gives a damn if it is a mess, tastes good anyway!
2. Microsoft represents the weekly Deals With Gold -sales as usual, and apart from few other Forza deals there were a quite good deal for Forza 6's Car Pass. If you are a Gold member and have thought of getting some of the DLC cars or maybe even the car pass, this is quite a good chance! I don't think it is going to be any lower than this. Regular price (in €) rolling around 29,90€ and the deal takes the tip off of it, so it makes about 20€ with the deal. For those who know math, the deal is -35% off from the pass! Other Forza related deals this week: Forza Horizon 2 + Forza Motorsport 5 all bundled up: -50% off Forza Horizon 2: Porche Expansion: -50% off Forza Horizon 2 VIP Pass: -50% off Forza Horizon 2: Alpinestars Pack: -50% off Forza 5 VIP Pass: -50% off Forza 5 Nurburgring Booster Pack: -70% off Quite nasty deals in a good way, pick yours this week! (Starting to sound like a hired promoter )
3. Haha, the insurance fees for pretty much every BMW-model is freaking high here in Finland (I guess because most of the teenagers with no skill to actually handle the vehicle usually end up crashing them). Also, I'm not personally in to BMW as a manufacturer. It may be because of the image most people got here in Finland about BMW drivers being jerks and all, but when I really think of it, I don't really find the appearance in any way tempting. Sure they are sporty and look mean and more muscular than my current Audi 80 or upcoming Corolla (picking it up next Tuesday btw.), but just not my style. :) Mod edit: keep it PG please
4. *Gives a cookie* I was going to look for VW Golf, but since the Toyota convinced me first, I never bothered to go there. For me the diesel engine is a bit useless, since I don't drive that much and my travels are quite short to work and groceries. I would just end up wasting money on unnecessary taxes and in addition, I would be freezing to death on my way back home! Quite surprised how damn well that Toyota Corolla warmed up on about -20 Celsius, as I probably got to the entrance gates of the car shop and it was blowing warm to my cheeks! Guess that is the combination of a small engine and Japanese quality. That Hyundai I drove did not get warm during the whole ~15 minute test drive
5. Lots of good discussion here, lads! Thanks for the advices (though my answer to them is a bit late)! Did not go for the Hyundai, though I would've got it for that money, it was a received offer that I basically stated in here. But that wasn't something one would expect from 2009 car. A bit cheap, but hey, it is Korean all right. Went to their neighbour and got myself a Toyota Corolla 1.4 VVT-i Terra, from 2005 and hatchback of course! The salesman did go for the same as everyone else I know that knows something about cars, basically by saying that the car can only be broken with a bazooka, which pretty much covers the Toyota in general. Of course all brands and models have their "Monday models" which break up, eat way too much oil and so, but we'll see what comes out of this! I will be sure to update with a picture once I've got that car. Right now it is waiting to get cleaner and inspected by the selling company's experts. Did not get any aluminium rims with it, which kind of makes me sad :sulk:
6. PC was the machine I rarely got to play on when I was a kid. We had a PlayStation and Nintendo 64 before my parents broke up, I got to play with those but when we moved with my sister and mother to her new husband, the PC was available for me for about 1 hour in a week. Needless to say I was pissed off by that, no great Counter-Strike matches were performed in that amount of time. And in addition, my little sister got to play way more with it. A Year later from that I got the first Xbox as a Christmas present, but every game that was age restricted for more than I was by then (say goodbye to lalalala) were banned from me. Midtown Madness 3 was however amazing and I spent most of my game hours rolling the streets. Going back for PC, I often visited my father to play on his PC he did not really use for anything. Continued my Counter-Strike career and bought few more games that I can't even remember right now. That was enjoyable. Then I got my first very own PC which was so crappy it did not even run the CS 1.6 on lowest graphics, so I kinda messed up by getting like literally over 500 000 viruses on that computer (they were disguised as font files, we scanned it and got to like "C" and we had that 500 000 infections counted up, aborted the mission and re-installed the whole thing over). Nowdays, though I am playing more with Xbox One than I am with PC, I still have the huge collection of games for the master-race machine and I recently upgraded my graphics driver for GTX 970. I should get some spare cash at some point to get some more upgrades, since besides the power supply and graphics driver, the rig is 5 years old!
7. I really waited for this updated once it was announced, and maybe even before it when I got my hands on the Windows 10 -app. It is way more useful and user-friendly interface than the previous one. It just feels a bit heavy for the console, I don't know if you guys are experiencing it, but hopping off from the game by tapping the Xbox Button takes about 3 seconds for the pop to actually happen. Same goes for turning off the console or the controller, few seconds for the popup to load, when previously that was about instant. Old interface could've been better for Kinect, but who actually uses it? They should at least drop its price from 150€ to something like 80€ and I would get it just to try it out in games like Alien: Isolation and so forth, where the voice capture could bring somewhat different experience.
8. First off, I want to make sure that I'm not here to make everyone's dreams flat for saving towards getting G29 wheel. I was really looking in to it when I first started planning on purchasing a racing wheel to make my experience among driving games more comfortable. I stumbled upon multiple reviews when I finally got the money to buy the wheel, and after reading, viewing and hearing about Logitech's laziness to upgrade their tech inside the wheel (G29 is using the same tech their previous wheel did 10 years ago, while others are going towards more durable and way better technology...) I took a good peak in Thrustmaster's today's models. Needless to say I can't talk behalf of my own experiences, since I've only driven the Thrustmaster TX-series wheel that I finally got instead of Logitech's new wheel. It feels amazing and the fact that almost everything is replaceable, there are a dozen of addons available to make the driving experience even better, I mean the TH8A-shifter, never seen or felt a better shifter in my whole life when it comes to racing wheels. Thrustmaster's wheels from the same price range than Logitech G29 wont come with the shifter along them, and there may not be a clutch pedal on the initial setup, but all that can be attached to the TX-wheel base (once you are about to invest some more money in to it of course). I'm not judging here, I'm just asking for people to reconsider. Surely if there is no intention to put more money to the racing wheel setup than the $500 maximum, and you want the shifter and the clutch pedal to come along and fit in that price tag, you should pick up G29. If you however want to expand your experience at some point and invest in really good quality stuff, you should take a look at Thrustmaster TX -series, it has a lot to offer! :p
9. I'm not that familiar with the so called daily-use cars and their brands and models. I've currently been seeking some replacement for my -90 Audi 80, needless to say I'm going to roll below the current 2.0 liter engine for I honestly just roll from home to work and groceries. My price tag for the new car is 8500€ at its maximum. Currently I've been looking to Hyundai i20 Comfort (2009), that is just 1.4 liter engine with enough space and accessories for my use, but is it any good? It has been driven a bit under 90 000 kilometers, and just one owner which makes it really tempting. Test driving it today afternoon, any comments before that will be noted and I'll decide if I take it or not, and post the reply in here to keep you guys updated! Also, if you wouldn't go for this Hyundai i20, feel free to recommend other brands and models which should be worth looking for! Japanese and Korean brands are what I'm seeking, for the maintenance cost and all the available accessories for that price-range are just perfect.
10. Falling about 5 seconds too short for any place on the leaderboard, dammit! I have to spend some time on finding new tune I guess, though I'll be doing it for next week's Time Attack, deadline is too close for this one. :para: Anyway, since Camel asked me to post in here and mention my gamertag on XBL, it is the same as my forum nickname; ProDexorite - Feel free to add me if you wish!
11. Tried to beat your time on this weeks Time Attack but came about 5 seconds short... No work tomorrow, so let's see if I can throw in something better! I suck at tuning cars so it surely gives you guys some advantage!
12. Thank you guys! To Diablo: Must make the experience near perfect before even going for it! To Mr Softie: This still makes me laugh even though I've heard it a couple of time in the past few years  To MERCEDES-BENZ: Gladly I've been running through sales and stuff like Humble Bundle to get most of them. I'm not that much in to buying a fully priced game, but if I had a chance to sell my games from there, I would probably do so to decrease my amount of games for like 100 :p
13. It is! And the greatest story for this car is that my grandma changed the transmission-box when the old one broke up (pretty sure she forgot to check the oils for it). The cost for that operation was about 3000 euros, and even back then (few years ago) the value of this car is less than half of that amount... I'm glad I didn't have to pay anything for this, since grandma had no use for it anymore... Why such a high cost for transmission change, you might wonder? It is an automatic transmission and the gearbox is damn expensive. Dumb people, but I can't complain! :duck:
14. Thank you Ryzza! I shall post some pictures of the setup once I got some spare time! :) On PC I've not been too active on racing games/sims lately. But here are some games I do own and tend to try out with my racing wheel when I'm not too lazy to plug it off from my console and set it up in front of my desk: Test Drive Unlimited 2 (I'm not sure if it's still alive or not, I've just read about server shutdowns and so forth..) GRID GRID 2 DiRT 3 DiRT Showdown Trackmania series I've been considering of purchasing Assetto Corsa and Project Cars, but I'm still waiting for the prices to cut off a bit more. DiRT Rally is my primary focus, but I'll be getting it for Xbox rather than PC (graphics card is up to date, but I would have to upgrade my memory and processor to make it any kind of an experience ).
15. Here is my Audi 80, 2.0E (1990) Sadly, I'll be parting my way with it soon, as it doesn't get through the winter in Finland anymore as it used to. Had to walk to work today because the locks were frozen solid... Oh yeah, and it has only been driven about 260 thousand kilometers, no rust or anything!
16. Hello, my name is Niko (nickname ProDexorite) and I've been to racing games basically since I was a kid. Now that I have grown up to the age of 22, moved on with my life and actually gained some income, I've invested some money to make my experience in racing games even greater! So I placed an order for Playseat Evolution (Alacantara) and Thrustmaster's TX racing wheel. Few months later once I finally got pissed off by the paddle-shifters attached to the wheel, I bought the TH8A shifter with the PRO-holder attachment to my Playseat. Just two things missing from the perfect setup, first being the better pedal-setup with clutch pedal, other being a fancy mug holder. Though I'm used to driving an automatic transmission vehicle in real-life (wait, what is that?), I've noticed my touch for manual shifter has not gone anywhere. And it may just be so that my current pedal setup for my wheel suites me better, but I want to enhance my clutch-usage in general, so there is that. Apart from racing games (that I play on Xbox One currently, Forza 6 and Forza Horizon 2), I'm running on a whole scale of different games on both Xbox One and PC. I currently own about 700 games on Steam, at the moment I'm being thrilled of Darkest Dungeons, The Long Dark and Pillars of Eternity. From that you could easily say I'm in to fantasy and survival games, which have been my favorites for a long time. Going to continue my work now, but feel free to ask anything if you're interested on hearing more! My favorite car brand is definitely Audi, you can bet on that!
